Very cool bookstore, video game, funko pop and other toys store lol. They sell a lot you can buy and sell to them. They have a good selection of books by sections, different languages, kids books, etc. a huge selection of cd's, dvds, bluray, a small area for vinyls and a couple walls for old games like wii, wiiu, nintendo ds, dsi, etc. and consoles all overpriced but more so for people that are ok spending a little more, otherwise i suggest fb marketplace for less. Still cool to look at i may go back from time to time. read more

Good selection just would really appreciate if they organized their items better. It's like they just throw everything starting with a certain letter together and don't really organize it beyond that, so you take a long time looking at a certain section even if you already know what you're looking for. read more

They had so many books movies manga figurines and reading cards. I wasn't sure what u was expecting but I love it here. It was very chill and they isles are spacious. People were really there taking their time and enjoying the catalogue. I bought a few dvd for my 52 wk Denzel marathon and saw so many other movies I want to come back for. The clearance section is full of everything , and they even have another section for series box sets. The movies were 2.99 and seemed to be in great condition and their policy is great for returns. The staff was friendly. Oh almost forgot the vinyl selection. read more

I was a bit dismayed to find that they charge either $9 or $5 (for mass market paperbacks) for every single Japanese book they have. That's too expensive! There is a clearance section with books for a buck, but no Japanese books there. They have no manga in Japanese... : (. . . . I found the books disorganized; I mean that just when I thought I'd looked at all the ones in a certain genre, and was leaving, I passed another section of the same genre. (And not clearance ones). I didn't see any difference in price at all between the two sections so it was a mystery. They had a cd section with a bunch on clearance, (not any Japanese ones) but only a couple Japanese cds in the 'international' section. A homeless guy came in and passed out on the floor while we were there. On the plus side, most books were in really good condition. read more

Books, books, books. Passed this up a few times because I thought it was an anime place and that's isn't my thing. It a friend told me to go in. New, clean, organized. There is anime and comics as well as action figures but also a slew of books and vinyls. It reminds me of Half Price. The books are organized by subject and/or author. And there was a huge clearance section (somewhat organized) of books for $1. The staff were just strolling around doing their jobs without (for me) a lot of service. They were steady. Not o early busy but a steady in and out of customers. This is def a place where to fully enjoy, I'd need to spend a few hours. I love books. They also sell actions figures, games, cards, etc. Def worth a look if you are into books. read more

I was so excited we get a Book-off in Houston. The store is a popular used media chain from Japan that includes, dvd, CDs, books, anime figures, anime trinkets and located near Seiwa Market. The space itself is large with a lot of aisles, organized alphabetically. We came during grand opening. I've never seen the parking lot so full. They have beautiful display cases of anime figure up front although their prices are extremely expensive. other merchandise includes anime CDs, English CDs, DVDs, books, manga and misc anime goods - including clear files, keychain, gashapon, pins, totes. They sell Japanese pokemon cards but do not buy. The best part is their clearance section where you can find some amazing deals for $1. This is what I usually enjoy digging through for treasures. I'm also curious about their buy back program and wonder how much percentage they give you vs. market. Most of the store is a treasure hunt, where it would be hard to find something not to like. read more

In my opinion the place is nice,the items are average-pricey but it's kinda hard to find ur favorite character as a pin its kinda messy. Not only that there is not that many things. The people who work there are nice. There is a lot to choose from in the manga section, not many figures though!. I do like checking out the video game and anime selection but this store is just so packed every time I come in (I tend to come in on sundays so maybe I need to visit on a weekday) I normally find something to add to my collection but I honestly wish they would do something about people hogging the aisles. I believe this store needs a larger space like their other locations around the country. Many people just tightly packed in pretty much one part of the store while the rest of the store is pretty much a ghost town. Hopefully they decide to relocate to a better fitting space read more

The figures are way over priced - the clearance section for dvds and cds are nice though. There's one aisle that's an actual disaster to go through but I'm sure if you dig there might be treasure (if you can deal with the mess and if it's not damaged from others shifting through it all) As for selling they are pretty inconsistent in their offers and will low ball you so unless you NEED the quick cash I wouldn't bother. I hope something improves with the organization and prices cause it really is a cool store to have here in Houston. read more

Really like this place. Great selection of books, movies, audio books, anime, figurines, cards, I think some gaming, etc. But really impressed with the selection of music...vinyl, CDs, cassettes. Most of these pretty reasonably priced, some at market, but several at clearance price. Even though used, everything I saw was really clean. Well laid out store and very organized. read more

I'd rate this store as "Meh" I was excited to check it out bc I miss Half Priced Books being in the area, but I wasn't super impressed. They didn't really have what I was looking for book-wise, and several things were out of order. I was also excited that they sell cds. They did have a pretty good selection, but it's way over priced. One of the cds I was looking for was only $1 cheaper than Itunes, and the same cd was $4 cheaper at the Half Priced Books location on 529. It's also incredibly hard to shop the cds the way they are organized- I'm 5'5, and needed a stool to look at the top 2.5 rows, and I doubt they can or will change the music set up. Good luck if it's busy! On that note, I'd also recommend going mid day during the week... It was PACKED on a Saturday, and I didn't feel it was worth the 2-3 purchases I found to stand in a line of about 40 people. People seemed excited about the anime selection and the tchotchkes they sell, so it's worth it to check out, if that's what you're in to. read more

honestly I wish it had more books. it felt like half the store wasnt books. and then there wasnt enough variety within the book section. why is there 10+ copies of twilight on a shelf? same with other series. Multiple shelves of stephen king or James Patterson. keep most of them in the back, series like that dont need the shelf exposure. it was lacking compared to other books stores not just in regards to variety, but also in categorization. Fiction was all jumbled into one, so if you wanted a scifi book you had to to peruse the entire fiction section since it was all sorted by author. This is closer to me than a half priced books, but Id make the drive for that instead. Maybe as time goes on they'll eventually get a better variety of books. I got one book (stars wars book for $5). I was excited at the prospect of another BOOK store, but this just wasnt it for me and in my opinion doesnt cater to book lovers. For those that want dvds, figurines, and vinyl this could be a good spot for you. read more

The store sells only used goods but isn't able to process a refund for a new unopened item unless it's defective. The cashier said they could help as a one time courtesy but another worker interfered to block the refund. Will never go back to this store or the ones in Japan, you have permanently lost a customer! The no refund policy was not disclosed in the initial sale either! read more
