I'm generally a huge fan of nature and have been to a few national parks in Canada. This one is my…read morefavourite so far with its varieties of landforms and gorgeous scenery. I had my virgin Highway driving experience in this national park and felt so flattered bumping into two mooses crossing the highway. I don't know if it was a good thing or not for first-time highway driver, but it was truly memorable experience. I've walked several trails in the park and they were all worth five stars. - Steve's trail: This was a really short and easy trail. You can walk down to the beach and have a gorgeous view of the blue sky, the sea, the sunshine and the rocks on the beach. - Tableland trail: This was one of the must-see landmark in this park. You would have a special opportunity to touch the earth's heart - the mantle. On one side of the trail, you can see a lot of plants on a normal surface of the earth. The other side was full of heavy metal rocks (mantle moved up ages ago), where no plants could survive. It was an easy walk unless you wanted to climb off-trail to the top of the Tableland mountain. - Western brook pond: Walking through the forest for a couple kilometers and feeding the mosquitos full, you reached the port for a boat tour to fjord formed by melted glacier ice. The water here was so purified and low nutrient that it was not conductive. It's nice to visit here on a sunny day, but remember to bring your anti-mosquito spray! A lot! - Lookout trail: This trail was hard with the elevation gain and the trail condition was extremely poor after a rainstorm a day ago. It was slippery. I almost cried when I was approaching the mountain top (too tired) but it was so worth the hard work the moment I was at the top. The scenery was so beautiful, like a colorful painting made of Tablelands, Bonne Bay and the Gros Morne mountain. I definitely want to revisit this national park and next time I will stay longer and try to challenge the impossible Gros Morne trail.

One more thing checked off our bucket list! Don't miss the Western Brook Pond boat tour!!! Spend at…read moreleast 3-4 days here exploring...Tablelands is a must!
