This is the best chocolate brand on the planet, and we order them for special occasions. Bonnat has been doing bean-to-bar, origin-based chocolate since the beginning.
They make the best bars without need for showy packaging like other brands. No lecithin, naturally smooth texture from cocoa butter, and less need for sugar as the chocolate is so good (mostly 75% cacao dark bars, and milk chocolate is very high at 65% cacao).
My favorite is the Java (Indonesia), the best milk chocolate bar I've ever had. I also like the historical, rediscovered dark bars like Xoconusco (Mexico).
We also ordered a hard-to-find box of chocolates. Most of the pieces were based on classics like hazelnut or almond praline, liquors, or ganache. All very delicious so far (haven't finished the box yet), but the chocolate bars are the standout product relative to the competition. read more
