When the dishes arrived, wow, the portions are enormous at this place! Two large bowls of pasta and a generous pizza sized portion of thin crust garlic bread. The carbonara was spot on, the creaminess of the sauce contrasted perfectly with the saltiness of the bacon, the garlic bread heavy on the garlic, as it should be and the ragu full of earthy tomato flavours. Gamely though we tried, we couldn't finish any of the components, as we both were just recovering from a cold. For my main I had a dish off of the specials board which was filet steak, in peppercorn sauce, with potatoes and vegetables. The vegetable came to share with the other guest on the table and it included Brussels, green beans, carrots and onions (unfortunately I didn't get a picture quick enough). We had a party of 3 and everyone had a starter, a main and we ordered two beers and a bottle of wine. The total was £80 and it was worth every penny. I hear every night is extremely full and we have previously tried to walk in another time to find that they had no tables available unless we waited quite a while.
