Celebrated our anniversary at Bonfire Grill in Tomball. The chef here is fantastic! Every dish was filled with surprising and pleasing flavors, prepared perfectly. Small spot that you may drive by without even noticing, but definitely worth a visit. Everything we ordered was delicious from the green beans to the brisket ravioli. I have told everyone I see about this restaurant since trying it last weekend. We stopped in Saturday afternoon and we were immediately greeted both by staff and the wonderful scent of wood fired. We ordered the creamy chicken pizza (a chicken and bacon pizza with white sauce), a chicken sandwich that I think was called a chicken club or a chicken blt at the recommendation of the waitress (and boy was I glad she recommended it!) and a meat lovers pizza. The pizza crust was so tasty. It was real pizza crust, not yeasty or weird like you sometimes get. Cooked perfectly with crispy edges and a perfect middle. Not overdone at all! My god was it good. We have literally not stopped talking about it since! The staff was all super friendly and our food came relatively fast. We were excited to go. Our waitress was very nice and the appetizers were good. We ordered drinks and they were pricey but good. I went to compliment the bartender and she was the rudest person ever. She had a horrible attitude. The main meal (steak and pork loin) were below average. So bottom line, if you go there, stick to appetizers and order drinks but do not bother the horrible bartender. The older lady, possible manager says after waiting 10 minutes that the kitchen and bar closes at 9 and if we don't hurry and out our orders in they can't help us. I told her fine but can we get menus? It's now 8:05, no drink order! Lady disappears in the kitchen for another 10 minutes!! Nobody came to get our order! What a waste! Never have I seen such poor customer service! So all 22 of us went and gave our business elsewhere! Won't return here. What happened to hospitality?? You certainly won't get it here!! I love the look, feel and wood fire oven smell of this place. When it first opened we loved everything about it. It was our go to for guests and for a nice dinner out. We noticed a change on our last two visits years ago. We figured we'd try it out again for lunch recently. First it is way too overpriced for what you get. Lunch .. 2 sandwiches and an appetizer (no drinks just water) cost $60.00 including tax and tip. If I'm paying that kind of money for a sandwich I expect delicious . It wasn't. It was ok. I also expect to have side options but we were told no substitutions. Ok so how about options with related upcharge if needed (depending on item) like most other restaurants at this price point would do? Bonfire has a cozy, intimate feeling to it. It was a perfect place to come celebrate my anniversary. On top of a great atmosphere, the servers are on top of things. He had great food and drink recommendations. The food came out quickly and was all delicious. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The menu does change seasonally, but here's what we got (and I definitely recommend): The Over-Fire Meatballs were AMAZING. Definitely my favorite here. The Tomato Basil Soup was so delicious. The Green Chile Brisket Pizza was such a unique idea and SO YUMMY. We also got a side of Roasted Brussel Sprouts, which is roasted with almonds and wine reduction, and makes this vegetable taste so good. I also ordered the Rose Bloom, which I highly recommend. It was so yummy and light. I don't like alcoholic drinks that taste too much like gin or vodka, and this was perfect. We didn't get dessert, but the Bourbon Crème Brulee sounded amazing...so will definitely be coming back and ordering some. read more

Went for the first time the other night. we live local and I've always wanted to try it. The service was good, and we were impressed with the menu selection. My salad and risotto were fine, but there was a long blonde hair on the table when we sat down and we found a long black hair in my husband's snapper dish. It was underneath the greens, quinoa, and sauce, which meant it wasn't found until he was finished with the Fish portion, we told our server and we were very polite about it, and she apologized. However, while we were not expecting any accommodations, nothing was offered for the price we paid, I would've expected at least the manager to come over and apologize. read more

Cute little restaurant in downtown Tomball. Outside seating area that will be nice once it is not so hot, although your view is of the street. Extensive wine list and some amazing options for mixed drinks. The drink my husband and I had was well balanced and not overly sweet, interesting flavors. The BLT was on a bun that was too large and overpowered the sandwich. Once I removed the top of the bun it was much better. It has a peppadew Mayo, tomatoes, lettuce and thick bacon with a side of home fries. The home fries were flavorful but slightly soggy, I wish they had more crunch. I have never been treated so rudely. I just left this location after standing in the door by the instructions of their sign which stated"Please wait to be seated." Well I waited. I was literally passed by 3 employees. With my smiling face waiting to hear, Hello or Welcome we will be right with you. But I received no acknowledgment, one employee was directly next to me putting menus away and he walked away as if I was invisible and said nothing. I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant. I had heard so many good things. My friend and Co worker went at lunch time. It wasn't to busy. We ordered and waited about 45 minutes for them to come and tell us they were out of wedge fries. I could sub soup or salad. French onion soup... they don't have it any more. Ok what about Mac and cheese? Ok your food will be right out. 30 minutes later I got my grill chicken sandwich and my chicken was burnt. Then still waiting on Mac and cheese asked it to be togo because we were over our lunch time . Asked for tea refill and never received, then asked for a togo tea.. never got it.. so just paid and left. We work about 10 minutes from this restaurant. I was kinda sad. I am not one to typically leave a review, especially a negative one but tonight we had the worst experience dining out that we have ever had. My boyfriend(24) and I (22) were putting in a cocktail order when we were bluntly interrupted by our server saying "You might as well get your ID's out" which yes of course we do not mind getting ID'd but that was extremely rude to cut us off in my opinion. He ordered the green chile brisket pizza, and I ordered the red snapper glaze. We eat fish CONSTANTLY, as it is our favorite meal! But my meal tasted EXTREMELY fishy, so in the nicest way possible I asked if I could order something else instead. Our server said "we'll let me show Tracy and see what she says", not that I would know who Tracy is. She came back to the table and told me it was okay if I ordered something else but "it's a good piece of fish and you just aren't used to it". What ever that means. When she brought out my second plate, the braised beef plate, I asked her to thank the chef to which she responded, "he doesn't normally get his feelings hurt, well he does when he takes everything out ....a good fish piece, but it's okay you just aren't used to it". Or something along those lines. Again, we eat fish all the time and red snapper constantly. Ambience was nice, drinks from the bar were good, and the dessert (crème brûlée) was good as well. No offer for a discount on drinks or appetizer, and the manager was unwilling to be proactive with the patrons. At least 6 tables walked out at the same time.
