In memory of SUSAN PENDLETON ASHBY for her dedication to the improvement of Downtown Mount Airy and her efforts to restore the Coca Cola Ghost Sign. The local Mount Airy Coca Cola Bottling Company commissioned this mural in the early 1900's. It was rediscovered in July 1987 when 'The Canteen' building was removed from the site.
