The only reason I ever have to visit Bonaly is as a handy stopping point on my way between Edinburgh City Centre and the Pentland Hills. And that was exactly my reason for dropping into Bonaly Corner Shop.
For some stupid reason I had remembered everything for the forthcoming hill walk except the most important thing of all (apart from maybe my shoes), water. So I purchased a bottle or two along with some snacks after giving into temptation. All in all fine. Prices were fine. Quality was fine. The only slightly irritating thing was the man behind the counter talking loudly on his phone the entire time and never really acknowledging my existence. I suppose I shouldn't care really, I got what I wanted, I just felt it was a touch unprofessional.
Everything in the shop is what you would expect. Sweets, snacks, some basic groceries and household goods, drinks etc. and of course newspapers and a small selection of magazines. read more
