Darlington is an…read moreaverage-sized town, yet its Primark store is one of the biggest I've seen, and it stocks a lot of items that I've only previously seen in the Oxford St, London store, such as its skincare ranges. The Primark store is now located in the Cornmill shopping centre, on the site of what once was, the C & A store, after moving from a location on the outskirts of town a few years ago. The Primark in Darlington is the first I'd ever heard of, a lot of years ago now, and before it ever became fashionable. The windows of the store always look inviting, with lots of models, male and female, young and old, sporting Primark's newest clothing ranges and accessories. At the entrance to the store there's usually a couple of sales racks, which does make the store look a bit cheap, in my opinion, but the rest of the store is well looked after, with tidy racks and rails and no clothes/hangers cluttering up the floors. This store has an extensive underwear and nightwear section on the ground floor as well. Upstairs, the menswear, childrenswear and Homeware are all squeezed on to one floor, so their ranges aren't quite as impressive as the women's, but there's still a decent level of stock, and it's all clean and tidy there too. This Primark does have a good selection of products that other Primarks I've visited don't have - the aforementioned 'smellies' and a gift section, with make-up sets and Christmas crackers.

I am a 71 year old disabled pensioner with myriad health problems and a tiny assistance dog in a small pram which is a walking aid for me. I was treated in a bad way on the floor selling cutlery which was expensive but which I wanted to purchase.The young assistant had a couldn't care less attitude.So I walked away without saying anything as I am very polite. I approached the duty manager on my way out who totally misconstrued what I said to him. I have spent thousands of pounds in Binns over many years even when it was open in Middlesbrough.In this time of economic recession I am GLAD they are allowed to be rude so they won't miss my custom.A couple outside saw my distress and comforted me.He needs to remember NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE OBVIOUS.As the nice Lady outside said 'Poor communication skills are paramount in all walks of life'.I will never go there again.

It is ideal place to visit to buy an outfit for any occasion. It also offers men and childrens clothing, along with furniture and homewares.

There is almost always a section which are sale items so you can almost be guaranteed of a bargain when you go in. The changing rooms in New Look are huge and very nice. There is space for your friends to sit as well while you try on clothes.

I am not sure whether I am just getting old but there appears to be less adult clothes recently and more focus upon teenagers, and certainly the Darlington store have removed their plus size section. The range of shoes is good and, amongst some plastic and less quality items, you can find well priced leather shoes. Changing rooms are big and have seating so is good atmosphere and level of comfort for trying on.
