I brought my wife's vehicle to Bommarito for a specific issue. We made it very clear what we wanted checked. No other work was discussed, approved, or authorized. Despite this, the dealership went ahead and performed additional service without calling us for permission. We were later handed a bill for that extra work. When I asked why no one contacted us first, there was no solid answer--just a shrug-it-off attitude. That alone is unacceptable. But it gets worse. I reached out to Kevin McCauley, the service manager, both by phone and email to try and resolve the situation professionally. Weeks have passed, and I have received zero response. No returned calls. No emails. Nothing. Just silence. We paid the bill to avoid a back-and-forth at the front counter, but that does not mean the issue is resolved. It means we were left without a choice in the moment. Service departments are supposed to communicate before making decisions on a customer's behalf--especially when those decisions cost money. That never happened here, and the lack of follow-up afterward made it clear that my concerns weren't taken seriously. If you choose to bring your vehicle to Bommarito, I strongly recommend putting everything in writing and checking twice before leaving your car. Based on my experience, once the work is done, you may be ignored too. read more

I had no problems purchasing my Mazda actually that part was exceptional - this review is in regards to their Service Desk!! 1) scheduling is terrible 2) communication is atrocious 3) your time is not important I've had two oil changes with them with two terrible experiences. My first scheduler didn't inform me of their radius for drop off service. Their driver while taking me to my job didn't mention I was outside their drop off radius but when I called at 4pm - 2 hours past my video was received saying vehicle was done - that's right I had to call them- I was informed that I was outside of their radius but they wouldn't leave me stranded!! Well THANK YOU!! They sent a mechanic or porter in his personal vehicle to pick me up. How nice. I retrieved my car and left. One week to the day my oil light came on telling me I needed an oil change. I called and the phone RANG AND RANG AND RANG. I drove straight to their location after work and there were 4 people standing around gabbing but nobody was able to pick up the phone. I explained that my oil light was on but had a change a week ago. They said oh they forgot to reset. It took 2 people to reset the button. Geez!! Did they even do the oil change? Fast forward to today, I had an oil change done but waited. It took over an hour and half. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment, nobody met me at my car which I am used to from my previous Dealership, went in and was the 2nd person in lobby waiting. I received my all done video at 8:58, had a notification on Mazda app that my door was open at 9:21. Inquired with desk shortly after and was informed my car wasn't ready. At 9:30 the third person in waiting room car was ready and asked if she saw her video - I shrugged like WTH and was told they would check on mine. How can you forget me - I arrived when the donut man dropped off and I just inquired about my car! With in ten more minutes, a young man retrieved me from lobby said there was confusion with my paperwork but I was ready to go! Seriously!? The man that checked me in wrote on key tag that I was waiting. SMH! I was constantly met with excuses (short staffed, paper mix up, etc.) Sounds to me a reevaluation of training needs to be done!! When my lease is up, be assured- I will not be getting my next Mazda from Bommorito. They can thank their Service Staff for that. read more

Service Department is terrible. They are rude and try their best to ignore you or the issues you are having with your new car. We bought a new $30,000 Mazda CX-30 in January and there are some problems to be addressed. The so-called "Service Department " isn't too focused on service or your time. I had an excellent experience purchasing my Mazda CX-5. I am from out of state and went to my local dealer only to have them use high pressure sales and advertise incorrect prices to get you in. I looked for the specific car on auto trader and sent an inquiry. Ortiz responded almost immediately. He answered all of my questions and I did not have to spend all the time negotiating a deal with the manager (in person). I was given a great competitive price on the car upfront. I did all of my paperwork online (so easy) and made arrangements to pick up my new car. Ortiz picked me up at the airport and drove me to the dealership. I deposited $500 and they failed to deliver the vehicle on time. Moreover, they kept giving me wrong estimates about delivery. I know things might happen but I expect to receive honest updates as I agreed upon the MSRP. Also they take non refundable deposits whereas their competitor offers refundable deposits. All these helped me to go to the other dealership and I got $2000 off from MSRP. Best decision ever not to buy from here. read more

This was my first experience with Bommarito Mazda South. My son's car wouldn't start (again) and we'd been taking it to our local mechanic and they had decided it was something electrical and so we needed someplace with that kind of knowledge. This is when we found out that there are multiple weeks waits for all repair shops right now! We signed up for an appointment online easy peasy and contacted them to let them know we were going to have it towed the evening before since our appointment was 7:40 am and who knew how long it would take to get a tow truck. Well, that didn't go as planned since the tow truck AAA sent didn't show up until midnight (6 hour wait!) and by then the street was full and the tow truck couldn't get to the car. Luckily when I called in the morning thinking we were going to have to wait another couple weeks to reschedule, they told us that they would still fit us in that day whenever we got the car there. I was so grateful! Thankfully the day tow truck driver had an easier go since people had left for work and he had room. The service staff at Bommarito Mazda communicated well and promptly on our repairs and it ended up being a very pleasant experience. We'll be back next time we need repairs! read more

I had my brakes replaced 8 months ago because my front wheels were wobbling badly. They said they did not feel any wobbling.... Later that day, Bommarito claimed that my pads and rotors were bad. So I agreed to replace the front brakes. Now I'm having the same problem once again and they say the brakes are bad again. 8 months later!?!?! In my 40 years of driving, I have NEVER had to replace brakes in 8 months. EVER!! Mazda brakes are supposed to have a lifetime warranty, according to Bommarito.... Apparently not. Terrible company to work with and terrible attitude from the service "specialist". She was rude and acted as if she couldn't care less about my issue. Our family will never buy a vehicle from Bommarito again OR use them for any type of service/repairs. Embarrassingly bad ALL AROUND.... AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. read more

For just oil change ! There was an extra 40.00 labor fee , that no explanation was given for . Questioned charges got text from supposedly service manager saying charges were correct . Purchased a car from them last June. I live in Illinois, so they handled the title and registration of the vehicle. Two months go by and I didn't recieve my license plates. I went to the dmv and they told me the paperwork was never submitted. I call Bommarito and the person responsible told me that there was a problem with the title work on the car, but not to worry she would fix it. Never heard back. I called several times and was finally told in October that all the paperwork was submitted in September and I should be getting my plates soon. It's now December, no plates. Went to the DMV and was again told that no paperwork was sent in by the dealership. They included the state taxes into the loan, so I am hoping that they will eventually help me fix this problem and help me finally get my car registered and made street legal. read more

I had a great experience buying my Mazda from here- Sal was my salesman. I let him know what 2 cars/dealerships I was comparing and he helped me make a decision between the 2 (he even mentioned that if I did not choose the Mazda from him, he would still have been able to help me with the purchase of the other car I was looking at since it was available at another Bommarito dealership). We went back and forth on the price 4 times (Sal would go to the manager to get approval on the price and come back with a different price). I left thinking I got a great deal (car was below invoice, the windows were already tinted, there was an optional truck cover included that I would have wanted t purchase anyway). The first year of oil changes/tire rotation was included (so 2 free oil changes). I also have the dent coverage- met up with someone at the dealership to pop a door ding out for no charge. Cannot remember how much of an up-charge this "total care" package cost, but the finance man may have thrown it in for free or at a discount. I have already come here for 2 oil changes. Scheduling was easy. Drop off was easy. Waiting in the customer lounge is easy. There is a TV, coffee, and sometimes breakfast snacks. Recently, I stopped in at 7 in the morning to have my battery changed (since under warranty) without an appointment and they fit me in (2 hour wait, but they still got me in). Great service. Would buy from again. Will use their service center in the future. read more

Which is understandable but to NEVER get a call back, credit ran knowing car was sold in seconds, still no call back 4 business days later, contacted management still no response back. Let me start off by saying that my family members have bought cars here and had good experiences. But none of us will be shopping for a car here again. I was in the market for a car after moving back to STL from DC a few months ago. I settled on a Mazda 3 and so we decided to go to Bommarito. The sales guy we dealt with there, Brian, was just fine. He was friendly and my dad had negotiated the price over the Internet beforehand (my dad used to sell cars) so there was supposed to be no bullshit. SUPPOSED TO BE. Well, I gave them a small check to reserve a car and they were going to order it for me. It was supposed to be in in about a week. Then, a few days later, I get a call from Brian that says my car is in. And it has features on it that I didn't ask for and will get for FREE! But...it has 500 miles on it. It was driven here "from the coast," he says. Well, it turns out, that's not the car I ordered at all. Instead, they did a dealer trade to get me the car faster, but it had to be driven here from Oklahoma or something. Hence the 500 miles. I told them, no, I don't want a car with 500 miles, I want the one I ordered. I'll wait for it. The whole thing put a bad taste in my mouth for them. In the meantime, my dad was trying to find the car at a better price at Lou Fuhz. So Brian's manager, also named Brian, starts putting the squeeze on my dad. He tells him that if we don't buy the car from there, they will "never service my car." He was a real jackass, so in the end, we bought the same car from Lou Fuhz for less money. Ha. Turns out Brian's manager is notorious in the St. Louis car business for being someone that bullies people into sales. Don't fall for it! read more

Every time I go in for service or have to call for a general question, I mentally prepare myself to face some irrational situation hosted by rude and indifferent people. That is probably because when we purchased the car, BOTH the salesmen, and the finance guy left in the middle of our 20,000 plus transaction. The salesmen would not return our calls and finding us financing is apparently a favor and a privilege and finance is more than happy to let you know that. Just had a heater core go out on my Mazda CX-5. A very expensive repair - around $1,800. I've had all of the scheduled maintenance done at Bommarito, including the coolant flushes. Because Bommarito uses BG products, there's a warranty that BG provides for repairs related to any of their fluids. I was THRILLED when I was told that BG covered the entire repair cost! Thanks for thinking of your customers by choosing products that provide that extra level of protection against repair costs. You've made this customer very happy! read more

I then called again, and they hung up again! Third time, the same person answering the phone was very rude, and transferred me to a VM box. I doubt I'll ever go to this dealership. Glad I don't have to come back here since moving. Used to come here to get oil changes mostly because they send out coupons. Now, we've moved and my husband went to change the oil and the screw underneath is stripped so bad he can't get it off. So here I am at Bommarito St. Peter's where I'm paying $70 for a simple oil change along with whatever they're going to charge for this new screw. Joe in the Mazda service center took great care of us while my wife's car got some warranty work done. They were also able to fix an issue with the brakes, which literally 3 other shops were unable to find and fix. Due to an issue with the seat in her car, he felt that it wasn't safe to return her car while awaiting parts to fix the seat, so he gave us a rental car (free of charge). Also, instead of just giving us a random rental car, he found out that we were interest in looking at a cx-9 and found a rental version for us to "test drive" while waiting for her car to get fixed. We'll be taking all of our vehicles to Joe from now on, including my non-Mazda truck... read more

I went into cancel it because I called and they said they wouldn't refund me when the contract stated I can cancel within 90 DAYS and get a full REFUND I went in tonight 12/20/19 MICHAEL MARTIN "helped" me when I asked more about the refund and that I needed him to explain to me got very angry because I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND. Instead of politely trying to find easier words or a different approach to do his job of customer SERVICE, he chose to belittle and talk down to us. We bought a Mazda3 February of 2015 and after their numerous 'car salesman-like' wheelings and dealings, we agreed on a price. Ultimately, though, they tacked on another $50 for who knows what. Even though they were very specific that it would not be higher than the price of the car + the processing fee of like $150. Overall, it was extremely frustrating that they kept nickel-and-diming us after the financial agreement was (supposedly) final. They told us about their great door-dent removal program for the first year of having the car, too. Any dents or dings in your door will be pulled out for free and they will even come to you to do it. We got a ding in the door, and can you guess what happened? I had to leave work early to meet them somewhere to do it, otherwise, I was going to have to drive 35 min to the dealership to have it done. So far, we have not had good experiences (these are just a couple) because of the fibs from and general standoffish behavior of the salesman (Mark Schwarztrauber). This is just our experience, but I would not recommend going to this dealership. read more

Avoid this dealer at all costs! They are not to be trusted. Every time the salesman took our negotiations back to get the managers approval he would come back with a counter offer...but "forget" to tell us he had dropped some of the options. He played this game all thru the negotiations. He even "accidentally changed our 7 year warruntee to a 6 year when the paperwork went to finance. After the deal was done we discovered it was not for the car we wanted. He had given us a car with the features we wanted to test drive, but when we told him it was the wrong color he said he had one just like it in the color we wanted. It was only the next day when we discovered that it was missing a package that the test car had. They also take your keys to check your trade-in and good luck getting those back! We told them 4 times that we had to leave but they kept delaying until they wore us down. They also told us that to get the best deal that we had to sign that night...and they could get us 1.9% financing...too bad they forgot to tell us that the next day they would be offering 0%! I decided to go to Mazda South because the salesman at the West location (Jamie) was all over the place promising prices he couldn't deliver on. I thought w/e I'll go to the South location. A guy I know referred me to a salesman out south (Steve), but Sal had already made first contact so I thought, whatever lets make a deal. We get there and within 2 minutes I realize we're not buying a car from this guy unless the deal is so good I cannot pass it up. His tone was way disrespectful towards my wife. I chalked it up to the fact that English was his second language. That was until he tried to manipulate us by bouncing back and forward between financing options. He said the car was a lower price if I was willing to finance through Mazda. I asked him what was Mazda's best rate? He avoided the questions by saying that he didn't know what rate we would qualify for. My wife has a 816 credit score and I'm at 720. I told him that we'll get the best rate so again I asked what was the best rate that Mazda has to offer. He said 0.9%. However, I already knew that that was only if I added 1,250 back onto the cost of the car. His tactic was to speak fast enough and loud enough in an attempt to confuse me. I am an accountant so I took it as an insult. Also, he tried to put us in a car of his choosing (most likely the demo car) if we wanted to accept his "special price" offer. We did our research so right away we realized that he was offering us the average sale price of the car and trying to pass it off as a deal. Remember, this price was under a condition of taking the car that he choose for us. After 5 minutes of boarder line confrontational back and forward with him my wife and I got our things and left as he followed us out of the dealership trying to salvage his sale. I don't know if I'm turned off by Mazda South as much as I am by the Salesman Sal, but we took our business elsewhere and got the same car read more

I just bought a car from Mike Martin and I have to say that he is one of the best car salespeople I've ever run across. He was helpful, honest and informative without being pushy. I talked to him three weeks ago and told him that I was just in the looking stage and he was understanding and not pushy. I went back to him because he was so nice. He was not aggressive. He was polite and understanding. That is why I bought a car from him. I ran into a lot of pushy salespeople at other dealerships but Mike was different. Very polite, nice and friendly. read more

The other day my daughter in law and I started out our day thinking with all the said promises from Bommarito West and South we would be looking at her new CX5. WOW were we mistaken. We ran into the biggest slight of hand car salesman BS I have ever been apart of. We started off with the game of this price vs that price, this money off vs that money off, this savings vs that savings, all found to be either not for her, or on a older model. We were told so many lies, we didn't know what to believe after the first few hours. She was told the first two months would be paid for (not true they fibbed) we were told of $500 off for this and that, but only qualified for one. Also when it came to pricing out her used car they only gave pennies on the dollar. As hours passed, we came up with a price that was somewhat close to what she could afford. Then BAM the next issue, they " had the contract ready to sign, but forgot her down payment" he (Mark) the salesman (very pompas, very rude, BS artist, and overall poor salesman) it was so bad my daughter in law had to run out crying. Please do not buy from this dealer, run from this dealer, and don't look back. I work for a very big company and will send out a mass e-mail to thousands of co-workers to never buy from this dealer.
