Thali (freshly cooked vegetables, appetizer, dessert) with rotis( soft, wheat tortillas)

Used to be my go to place for Thali and for poori bhaji; last time we went there, the poor is weren't as good; the chana was actually hard to finish. Hope it was a one time glitch

Fried Idli

This place is a hidden gem! I originally placed my order online, but when I got there I found out their tablet that does the online orders was down. No worries! I re-ordered from the nicest gentleman at the front for the 2 folks in my office (& of course I got something too). I ordered them the Fried Idli and Aloo Tiki and I got the Samosas and Mango Lassi. Everything came out hot, fresh and absolutely fantastic! The samosas come w this sauce made out of dates but it's sweet and DIVINE! I could have eaten the sauce solo it was so good! My mango lassi was also perfect consistency and just sweet enough. My staff enjoyed their food and said the fried Idli was VERY good! Hot fresh, crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. Please give this place a try if you're around! You will not be disappointed!

A decent place to get good street food. I'd give it a 4/5 star for authenticity, service, and taste. I got the samosa chaat. The chaat definitely had the right mixture of ingredients with layers of chickpea curry and crunchy samosa and was tangy and spicy. I just felt like it was missing the Dahi (yogurt) in the dish and didn't have quite the "umami down-right -addicting flavor." Prices were affordable. Will come back and try other dishes to give a more thorough review!

Delicious grolled paneer sandwich

Cozy little counter service spot tucked in close to the Wally. Clean, cool and comfortable with a nice selection of authentic north and south Indian dishes. Among my favorites is the grilled paneer sandwich which has been brining me back here for years every time I'm in Austin. Masala Idli and spicy paneer roll are also very nice, as are the dosas. Not fast-food quick but well worth the wait for freshly prepared food. Plenty of free parking. Avoid the trauma of the I35+Parmer interchange and come in from North Lamar.

I went here after a long time. The interior has changed a bit. The tables and the place are cleaner. We went for breakfast at 9am on Saturday and ordered a masala dosa. They took some time, but got very fresh and hot dosa, and sambar. The taste was very good. Taking a star off as they can either make the ambience and serve better or reduce the prices.

Dahi Batata Puri. Dahi Vada. Papadi Chaat.

I've been looking for authentic Indian street food for ages. Plenty of wonderful videos on YouTube to show you what your missing. This place has it. Don't be misled by the word vegetarian. This place is freakin awesome. If I ever had to give up meat permanently, I'd move to India. Southern India. And be fine with it. It's hard to describe the sweet, the savory, the sour, the salty, the perfect blend of spice from dish to dish. Each complimenting the next. Order big. Eat well. Not knowing what you'll bite into next, but knowing it will be good. Take the leftovers home and eat well again. These people originated from the country that invented spices. Us Euro-gins have only had a few centuries to master these flavors. These folks have had millennia. They know what they are doing; let them show you.

Chole Puri (should be Jain and vegan)
Suhani D.

I was dissatisfied with the quality of foods ordered. One order we placed was for Dahi vada and our party specifically asked for more chutney. We weren't given the chutney until we reminded them of it on several occasions. Secondly, we ordered bhen puri, and this order had unusually thick sev, and practically no vegetables. One of us asked for a Jain and vegan Chole puri, but they placed onions and pickles containing carrots (both of these are root vegetables). Their menu shows "VG" as "Vegan" and "VG OP" as "Vegan Option". However several dishes labeled as VG, contain paneer, yogurt and other dairy items. This is inaccurate because they are considered "Vegetarian". This menu needs to change that designation.

Bombay Sandwich. Very conservative on the masala and liberal on the bread (three layer sandwich)
Rebecca L.

Might need to try other items but the Bombay Sandwich and Pav Bhaji I got was not good to me. The Bombay Sandwich lack masala and is light on the chutney spread. The main taste you get is the potato, which needed a bit more in my opinion, and the white american cheese. White onions and two thin slice of pink tomato. Pav Bhaji was also oddly served with generic brand hamburger buns. They were grilled and buttered but I think this was a big missed opportunity here because it could've been Hawaiian bread and that would still be more suitable. The bread was a bit too airy. The potato masala had much more tomato ratio in it than I prefer. It was on the sour end and again, to me lacked spices. Whole peas were also mixed in. Ok the side was diced onions with a layer of spice on top. It lacked the right bread, the right Bhaji, the layer of butter and cooked green chili.. all missed opportunities. I feel that these items would be made by a college kid on a budget. Even a bbq gathering with friends I could scramble up with better ingredients and presentation. Ambience aside and yes it's very cheap but I think it's because they really take the least expensive COGS tonsmke it happen. In terms of service, it's slow. Stood in a line of 4 with no acknowledgement for some time as they work on one customer at a time. Normally if a customer orders, they stand aside to wait while other gets served. Seemed like they only have the bandwidth to handle one "case" at a time so watching them slow at scooping and gathering, charging, paying, packing hurt my heart.

Puri bhaji!

I tried the Ulavacharu soup--absolutely delicious. It's main ingredient is horse gram, which apparently is in the legume family. It wasn't like any soup I've had before, so description is a bit tough. It was fairly spicy to start with, but less so as I kept eating it. The only things I could identify was ground up horse gram, some sweet onions, and some thinly shaved ginger, but it had a lot of complexity. Highly recommend that and the rose milk (especially if you need some relief from the spiciness when you start out.) I had a little bit of my friend's butter chicken sauce, and that was excellent too. More heavily tomato-based than I'm used to, but a lot of depth of flavor. I'd happily order that in the future. I can't wait to come back and try their buffet when my diet restrictions are over :) Service was great. I asked if a few of the menu items have coconut in them since I'm allergic, and our server double checked with the kitchen for me and was very nice about it. Really pretty dining room as well. The location isn't as central as I'd like, but that does make it easy to find parking in the lot. Definitely recommend!

The food is absolutely delicious and very very fresh!!! I have a pretty good heat/spice tolerance and I found it highly spiced and fragrant. You might ask for light spice if you're more delicate. We had two lunch boxes, one veg and one not, to sample more offerings, I cannot recommend it highly enough. What magic they do to that cauliflower. Crisp outter coaster without being heavily battered, and tender delicious, perfectly cooked inner. The dal was flavored magnificently. Often it's a sad pile of peas. Not here. The buttered naan that came along was thin and chewy and crisp at the same time and we had enough to take home. The chicken was tender and highly spiced. The potatoes perfectly soft yet managed to not fall apart. Fresh samosas were shatteringly crisp with a fluffy tasty potato filling. The portions are huge even by Texas standards. The value is enormous the prices more than reasonable. This tiny place needs to be high on locals radar I can't wait to go back. This place is going on my rotation

The Garlic Naan had some subtle garlic flavor and you can see real bits of garlic on top. Would have liked a stronger garlic flavor. Nice flakiness though. It's a shame too, especially because the food is decent. Packed with flavor, aromatic, and satisfying. The beverages (when you get them) are okay, and the pitcher of lukewarm water will not be poured for you because nothing says "fine dining" like inattentive waitstaff. If you're expecting a "fine dining" experience in a strip mall, set your expectations to somewhere between a marginally reputable fast food chain and eating a can of whole chicken cracked open with a rock, spear, and sprinkled with a dash of hard luck. Mmmmm.... classy! Oh! Customer service doesn't matter to you? Then you'll loooove this place. No interest in the waitstaff actually taking your order in a timely fashion? This is the spot for you. Overpriced meals served in piecemeal to a 3 top, appetizers served well after one entre is nearly finished while the other two meals are still likely being staged? Is that to your liking? Get yourself to Mama Bros where your time and money will be flushed down the toilet! Oh, but wait... The best part of your experience will be the menu. Wow! How incredibly inefficient and confusing it is! Don't let the QR code fool you into thinking your menu will make sense; just ride that long scroll to the very bottom where you can order takeout meals and then scroll all the way back up to somewhere over the rainbow. What a journey! So, yeah, that's what you're in for. How can this place improve? Maybe try shutting down permanently and trying again elsewhere. That would be a strong start.

I'm grateful that they're informed and honest about it, but that was my main motivation for visiting. At least, the veggie thupka was tasty, like a meatless version of chicken noodle soup. Comforting, unchallenging, and probably good for kids, too. For the more adventurous, the aloo gobi is not messing around; even the medium spice has a nice bite to it.
