This place is pretty new. Heard great things about it.
Walked in on Saturday at 7pm, the weather was terrible outside. The place looked pretty empty, plenty of tables around to offer diners a nice dining experience. The guy at the front reservations said "no tables after 9:30pm" I mean come on now, then he went onto say "oh we will get pretty busy from 7:30pm" so we said okay we will wait at the bar. He said "no point" we are paying customers paying for a drink. I would have happily walked out and gone elsewhere cause he loved to turn away paying customers. Clearly has no knowledge of how to keep customers interested.
Sat at the bar regardless of what he said! Booked a back up table at abercorn everest who were very accommodating fyi. Then the owners son was there, my other half went to this place on Friday night and got a table straight away. They spoke for a few minutes. At 7:30pm on the dot we were seated! The guy at the front reservations desk, get lost mate! You have no idea how to treat people!
The food is meh, had better. Also the decor, is a copyright on dishoom! Dishoom is 5 times better. Also the prices are pretty expensive for a sub standard meal. We got the mixed grill, paid £15-16 for two sheek kebabs, two wings, two lamb chops and a few pieces of chicken tikka. Pretty expensive! Also the Bombay style fish, not much flavour. The vegetarian food, again was okay. Chilli paneer was standard as any other place, and same with the chilli garlic mogo. Desserts were mediocre, you can get ice cream cheaper from baskins, which also tastes a lot better. Not like frozen crystals and a freezer like taste.
The bill for 4 people eating came up to £80!!! Considering how we were treated prior to speaking to the manager, don't think I'd even bother to book a table!
Not a great first impression for a new place. If you like mediocre food then by all means go. But there are far much better places to eat in and around harrow! read more
