Bombaj Masala has a super trendy feel with its modern, colorful interior and open kitchen. The menu offers a range of Indian dishes along with some innovative "Street Food Tapas." After sitting down, we were started with a ramekin of papad crackers, served with a sweet and sour tamarind chutney. Their thali lunch was a great deal and a great way to try out an assortment of dishes. My pick was the Veg Kadai, a mildly spicy curry with mixed vegetables (broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, peas, green beans, and more), and the thali also came with a red cabbage/apple slaw, potatoes in a tomato chutney, naan, and the most interesting part, two "biryani balls," which were crispy fritters made of yellow spiced biryani rice! In addition to the thali, I also tried the juicy, perfectly seasoned chicken tikka, served with a delicious herbed yogurt sauce, and the aloo masala kulcha, a freshly baked flatbread stuffed with a spicy potato mixture and topped with onion seeds and herbs. The potato flatbread was nicely spiced and had a really interesting textural contrast between the soft filling on the inside and crispy baked layers on the outside. read more
