His demeanor was completely disinterested, and he made no real effort to understand the musculoskeletal issues I'm experiencing. He dismissed everything I tried to explain, despite the fact that my cardiologist referred me specifically to an orthopedist for non-cardiac chest pain and related symptoms. I came prepared with a chest CT scan, which he couldn't even open from the disc. After fumbling with the computer, he said he'd "review it in his office"--though I sincerely doubt he ever looked at it. He later reappeared, claimed nothing was wrong, and offered zero explanation, zero treatment options, and zero next steps. This was, without a doubt, the worst medical experience I've ever had. If I were this careless and dismissive with my own work clients, I'd be out of a job. Truly disgraceful. DO BETTER. And for those reading this from abroad: yes, this is what American healthcare often looks like--and we pay absurd amounts for it.

It was there that I learned that my left arm problem was related to a pinched cervical nerve. I made an appointment to see Dr. Kramer at Head & Neck Surgery. Everyone on his staff is pleasant and helpful, and Dr. Kramer is a highly skilled and experienced surgeon. I had surgery on 6/18/2018. Any post-surgery discomfort was soon gone, and for a few weeks I was visited twice weekly by a team of very nice and helpful Occupational Therapists to ensure I was able to perform all necessary daily living tasks in a safe manner. After I improved to a point where I no longer needed in-home Occupational Therapy, I went to out-patient Physical Therspy twice a week for six weeks. I exercised my left arm, helping it to regain strength. That takes time as the nerves regrow and reconnect, but things have improved for me to the point that I am almost 100% recovered in my left arm strength a year later. I am grateful to Dr. Kramer for his surgical skill and for the good follow-up care I received. I'm glad I had the surgery, because it has restored the function of my left arm and I no longer have pain from a pinched nerve. Thank you, Dr. Kramer! Let me say that the facility in Carmel makes you feel like you are a celebrity. They have valet parking! It's clean, modern and a pleasant to be in. Dr. LEVIN is the BEST! He is extremely thorough. He listens, I'm mean he REALLY listens to you and addresses all concerns. He asks questions about your daily routine and considers how you may need to adjust it and how he can support that until you recover. He works with you and your life situation, (work, transportation,...). He shows you the x-rays and explains everything. He answers all your questions. He takes everything into consideration, weight, previous injuries, work circumstances, etc. I can't say enough. He also works in other locations and will treat you there to accommodate your situation. Unfortunately, I was recently hit by a car while crossing the street and am back for treatment.
