Came here with a group of friends that are close friends with the owner, so getting a seat was nothing challenging, place gets packed at times. Once you step into their property, you'll experience a Japanese garden ambience, open space, then the restaurant, very simple, cozy, a nice sushi bar area, and quite whimsical with sushi posters from beer companies (like those found in 'merica), Japanese beer brands, a fridge chilling sake and beer, pretty amusing.
Food:
Amuse bouche: Japanese salmon croquette with Bulldog sauce
Starter: uni with quail egg nigiri
Since we were with a large group, we ordered the super combo: lot's of sashimi assortments, rolls, few vegetarian rolls, nigiri assortments. No fried crazy rolls, no sushi drenched in sauces, and no rolls with too much rice. One of the best quality maguro I have tasted in SP
Place is good, really good, especially if you are a sushi purist, if you are just now starting to eat sushi, or only eat sushi drenched in crazy sauces, or Cali roll is the best sushi you've ever tasted, do not go there, this place would be too authentic for you and you won't enjoy yourself. But if you like authentic Japanese food, this is the place. No frills. Though, make sure you carry either CASH or check.
