Good guy and good work. His bid was half the price of another company. Tom worked diligently to make sure that we were happy. Our plumbing "event" was main water line that had come loose after many years. The thought of laying new pipe was dizzying at the time and he made the process seem normal. We needed to also have the city come out and reinstall a new water meter. He followed up on every detail, and the city took almost 2 weeks to complete their part. I never usually take the time to write reviews but I made it my goal to do it here... After meeting with several plumbers to do a repipe, most wanted to repipe the entire house and make a good bid on us. We called Bolan Plumbing Inc after reading a few good reviews on this one company. After talking on the phone, Tom explained to me how tankless water heaters were for sure the way to go and why the brand he works with was better. He knew his thing so we decided to meet with him and get a bid from him for our duplex. It looked to him like a lot of our house had been repiped so we only needed the new hot lines to go from the main to our future new tankless water heaters. So off course his bid looked very attractive compared to other guys. After receiving his proposal by email we were still undecided so did not reply right away. He actually showed us so much interest in our project by sending us emails and texts to my phone "hey guys so when are we doing this?". Well he seemed to stand out and wanted the job bad enough so he got it! We decided to go with him and scheduled a date. His guys came over that day and started the work. Since it was close to Christmas we were not going to see them until first week after the New Year. We were fine with it and waited and waited but Tom was not making the same impression any more. Tom was not texting anymore! After leaving a few voicemails, emails and texts we finally decided to trick him, as he would not call back, by using a colleague's cell phone and sure enough a new number that was not on his do not pick up list... he picked up! I was that surprised that I could not scream at him so instead I went with his excuse that was " we have been on a big job and I need to get better at calling people when I say I do but I don't!". We scheduled another appointment for the rest of the job so it gets finished and so we can move on. We had the choice to wait 2 weeks for a new guy of his to come or 3 weeks with the one that had already worked on the house. So we went with the one that had come before. And sure enough they never showed up not to add that old pipes left in our ywrd never got hauled away regardless that we paid for it!!! We are very disappointed with the way this has gone and very surprised that Mr Bolan did not consider our job big enough not to come back finish it. I know those guys have a lot of work out there. I work in the service industry myself and refer names as much as I can after I have had a good experience but this time I am writing a negative story about him. The one star I am giving him is for the first portion when we met, we are moving on and feel sorry he was not of better help but also was not being honest enough. I hope you make a better decision than we did. Good luck! I must add that after posting on Yelp about my experience Mr Bolan emailed and called apologizing for the lack of everything and gave me all sorts of excuses and even offered to come back to do the work at his own charge. We took the offer but never heard back from him again afterward. I think he believed that by then we had used someone else and only intended to act nice. Tom was a rare pleasure to work with; he was pleasant, articulate, listened to what we had to say, thoroughly explained what had to be done and how he would do it. I walked into my guest bathroom this morning and stepped into several inches of water. With company coming to town in a few days, I needed to get somebody to fix the problem ASAP. I found Tom on Yelp and he was able to get to my place within 2 hours of my call. Turned out the problem was an easy fix. While he was here, I had several other issues I asked him to look at, from minor annoyances to things he could have told me needed a lot of work. He fixed everything and even adjusted a toilet handle he noticed was loose! He was professional, fast, clean and affordable. I was in a pinch with a leaky kitchen faucet that needed to be replaced the same day, so I took my chances by sorting through yelp reviews of local plumbers. I talked to a few over the phone and chose Bolan because Tom (owner) seemed to be the most customer friendly and knowledgeable over the phone. I'm glad I did, because Tom was extremely professional (pleasant to have in the house) and did a great job with a complicated faucet replacement that required a bunch of customizing. Somebody who lives in my house got over-confident flushing paper towels down the toilet. One day -- boom! All the bathroom drains and toilets were blocked. Serg from Bolan Plumbing did a great job snaking the pipes and correcting this person's misdeeds. It only took him about a half hour and it only cost $65! read more

tom saved my day and my pocketbook. i had a clogged kitchen drain. it's something that backs up every year or so. called a local guy on craigslist--he couldn't get it done. uh-oh. called a licensed company--checkered flag plumbing--for their 40 buck solution. they ran a bigger snake down my drain, but no water pressure jet or camera. their solution was to tell me my pipe was no good and that it would cost 3100 bucks, which they lowered to 2500 when i almost fell over. not good. enter tom. he came out on a sunday, told me what the charges would be upfront, and got the drain cleared in about 10 minutes by shooting a jet of water down the pipe. after it was cleared, he spent another 15 minutes clearing the pipe more. he told me options for "down the road," which were grisly, but at least they were options for down the road and not "we have to rip up your floor right now and dig through concrete." 125 bucks later, i have a drain that works and a go-to plumber. rock and roll. read more

Wow, where to start . . . this company completely ripped off my 93-year old mother. It's truly a sad and shameful story. They installed sub-standard parts ($285 for a non-brand name faucet that costs $100 retail), charged for a valve in the backyard that they didn't fix, and didn't repair the issue with the kitchen sink. The plumber they sent to do the work was a very large man, and he broke the toilet when he sat on it. She had my brother and my sister contact the owner, and he promised to come "tomorrow." This went on for over a week. Tomorrow never came, but he cashed the check for $530. Nice. To make matters worse, she had to pay someone else to have the items that were supposed to be repaired by them in the first place AND pay for a new toilet and its installation. I'm going to file a formal complaint against their license, but beware of this company. They even had the nerve to include a 10% senior discount on the bill -- easy to give when you've already ripped off a defenseless old lady. DISGUSTING. read more
