My son attends the academy when his school is off for breaks (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer). He has been going here since he was in Kindergarten and is now in 3rd grade. What I like about Boingo's Academy: * Schedule: with my husband and I having different work schedules, I like that their schedule is 7:30am - 5:30pm. Within those hours between the two of us dropping off/picking up is not a problem. * Activities: I like that they have some play time, game time (including board games), craft time, quiet reading time. In the summer, they go to the weekly $1 shows for kids movies (which my son really looks forward to) and they have field trips. * Staff: I haven't had any issue with the staff. While they may have changed over the years, which is to expected in this industry, they have all been helpful, courteous, and kind. * Price: the daily price is comparable to any other day camps I've looked into. In addition, we currently get a slight discount if you sign-up for an entire month for June & July. * Curriculum: They keep it fun for the kids. When my son is out of school, I don't expect him to be doing a rigorous educational program. He gets lots of that during the school year. I want him to be a kid and have fun. I like that they include reading time, as I feel continuing to read when not in school is important, but other than that, if he's not complaining about being bored and tells me he looks forward to going, then I'm okay with it. What could be improved: * Enrollment/Payment procedure: I'm a complete tech geek, so this may only apply to me, but it would be nice to have an easy online enrollment & payment procedures. My son's school has that for their after-school program and it's easy to sign him up for whatever weeks we need and pay for it, all in the same place. There is an online payment option at Boingo's, but it's not available unless you ask for it and it's not user-friendly. Enrollment is still done by faxing/hand-delivering paper. * Summer themes: They often will do a day (like crazy hair, sports team jersey, wear PJ's, etc.), but I like the idea of taking more time to dwell on one theme. Like Mystery, Star Wars, Lego, Music, Planet Earth, Mythology, etc, and doing activities for a week or more surrounding that theme. Parents Beware! I normally don't write reviews but I found it necessary to write this one. I have absolutely NOTHING good to write about this place. The owner/director (Laura) was rude to my wife on the phone, in person, and in her emails. It is not OK for your staff to NOT wash their hands after changing kid's diapers even after wearing gloves. It is not OK for your staff to play movies on their phones for the kids instead of interacting and engaging in the child's development. It is not OK for the ratio to be more than 4:1 in the infant room (it's the law. If you don't believe me look it up), more than half the times I dropped off my son there would be an average of 6-7 infants/toddlers for every one teacher. In the 4 months my child attended all he learned was how to bite others since he was constantly being bitten by other kids. This circles back to being out of ratio, kids are not constantly being monitored like they should be. The last time I checked 99° is not a fever. I had to leave my job in the middle of the day one day because my son had a "fever". Why even have a front desk, there is never anyone there, and when there is I am never acknowledged. Customer service 101, Greet your customers, they pay your bills! I'm sure this post will be replied to by the Owner with a generic response like "I encourage parents to come and see the facility for themselves". My wife did and she was misled as to the reality of this place. My experience with Boingo's Academy started out great. I loved all the staff. They were all very friendly and assured me that my child was in the best of care! As a mother it was a hard transition for me but the Boingo's team made it a easy one (AT FIRST) I recently this year pulled my child from here for numerous reasons. I started noticing a huge change in staffing I understand people quit but the change was dramatic all within months. The change brought much inconsistency with staffing. I never knew who I was dropping my child off with. I loved the infant head teacher Ms. Jasmine until I noticed she was gone for a very long time and myself as well as many other parents were informed the reason she was out and state licensing was visiting the facility was because she has given a number of infants fire hot cheetos intentionally and giving in accurate information on the daily infant sheets. With this information that is when I pulled my child. I would never in my life leave my child with a person who would violate children's rights. I'm so glad licensing has got involved in this situation! As well as other incidents that have occurred here. Let's not forget that sanitation in this place is horrid. This place is the worst place to take your children, the facillity itself is nice but the owner is flat out rude. Do not fall for it you will regret it. Very rude and unproffesional staff. The owner Laura is very difficult to deal with. Their policy sucks one day they go by it and the next day they don't. I took my children to both facilities and on the one off of Chinowth its the "spanish imersion" program and i hardley ever hear staff speaking Spanish to the children. I regret taking my kids here. My daughter went through about 5 new teachers within a matter of 6 months. They complained that my child was pinching other children yet when other children hit my kids i was not notified. It seems that they do not follow a curriculum but they say they do. They will send your children home for every little thing which is an incovenience if you work and dont have family to pick them up right away. Owner wants 2 week notice if you enroll elsewhere yet she called me and said to not bring my kids back again. I could go on and on with the list of bad experiences but i will stop here. Bottom lime is... Find another day care because you will regret taking them here i guarantee it. It doesn't deserve any stars. read more

My kids have been attending Boingos Academy for about 4 years now. I have 3 children and all of them love it there! I believe that my middle child is ready for kindergarten because of Boingos and his teacher. They really teach the kids a lot there and i value that! being a single mother of 3 kids is very difficult and the staff is always trying to find ways to help me and make things easier. The staff is teaching my youngest is learning so much! My daughter gets help with her homework everyday after school in the PHIT CLUB program they have. Its wonderful! The staff is really good about treating all kids fairly and with respect. They always communicate with me and let me know what is going on each day with each of my children. My kids enjoy the staff very much and have made so many friends! And Laura (The owner and founder) is really great. She always greets me when she sees me and asks how things are going and such. She seems to always have a cheerful attitude and seems to really care about the kids and I as members of her school. I feel my kids and i are treated like family here at Boingos. I value that and would not want to go to any other place. This is the place for my children! read more

When i went in to take a tour the facility was clean and organized. There was no one in the front so i did have a bit of a wait. When i got to the classroom my little one would be in it was so loud, children were crying and only one teacher in the class it seemed like a bit much for her to handle. I didn't feel like my child's needs could be met here. There were toys laying around that could cause injuries especially to the little ones. Kids were climbing on the bookshelf. I decided it was too overwhelming and left. When i got home i called licensing and my concerns were all validated when they told me that the owner of the facility had people working there who had not undergone a criminal background check. They also said that the staff to child ratio had not been followed as it is only 12 children per 1 adult. After having made that call i knew there was no way i would take my child there and jeopardize her well being. Parents, be very cautious where you leave your children and if you have a bad feeling about a place go with your gut feeling. read more

I would be lying if I said this pre school is now anything what it use to be. I was a parent at boingo's academy for many years .. it started off great. Loved the staff and what my children were learning daily! Until recently .. my child coming home in saturated diapers, marks on her (which the teacher didn't know where it could've came from), and change in staff almost daily! The owner has been very difficult woman to get a long with and I would see new or different faces almost everyday for the last month and a half .. which made it different to communicate with them because I didn't know who would be in my child's class later on or even the next day! As I've heard many parents pulling their children or un happy with the major change in staff and inconsistencies I did not want to go that route and was hoping this place could pull it together but as soon my child started coming home with saturated diapers and the teachers couldn't seem to find her change of clothes they had changed her out of did if for me. read more

I had high expectations of this pre school but unfortunately that was the least of what I got from the tour I had received at this facility. The staff is not very friendly. They did not look to happy to be working their by their facial expressions, body language, and the way they were handling the children. I seen children jumping on furniture and children hitting each other. There was a significant amount of children to one teacher. There was nobody in the lobby area when I had arrived either. When I was done with my tour I had spoke with a good friend whose children had previously attended boingos, she told me their has been a tremendous change in staffing and there is no consistency. One day she would walk in to another teacher and the next day a different teacher. With all that being said I have decided to take my business elsewhere. I was referred to Boingos Academy from a friend when i first moved to Visalia. My daughter has been attending for 8 months and we absolutely love it. The staff is very attentive and really seems to "care" for my daughter, which was important to us. The other very important thing for us is that she WANTS to go. She loves it, which makes y mornings much easier! Weve been to a daycare where my daughter doesn't want to go and it was no fun. The Director has been helpful and good about answering my questions (im one of those moms!). We are expecting a second child soon so I have been checking out the infant center. Very calm and peaceful environment. Melissa has been the teacher in there for 5 years (according to staff) and has that calming personality that we all wish we could have as moms! I dont want to leave my baby anywhere but if i have to leave it somewhere, I feel pretty good about this place. read more

ONE STAR! This place is worth a negative star. It's disgusting. The sanitation at this place is awful. It smells. The teachers don't wash their hands. I seen a teacher change a diaper with no gloves and not wash her hands! The owner is flat out rude. She didn't care with the concerns I came to her with. If your going to be a business owner you should learn how to be professional. There is no consistent staff here. I would see new faces almost everyday. Ratios were not followed when I would see a large number of kids to one teacher. Also when my child would come home with food in lunch pale that was un opened did it for me! If my child's food is not open what did they eat? This place is a joke. With young girls that don't have a clue about child care. BEWARE Do not bring your children to this place! read more

Boingos Academy has been a great experience for both my children. We started in the 2 year class and are now up to the Pre-K class. Both children were assisted with potty training, allergies noted and observed daily and medication given when needed. Both my children have accelerated immensely in language and other developmental milestones; moreover, the programs are relevant to age.The consistency with teachers has been great also. Alyssa and Jasmine both handle administration very well and they're always easy to get ahold of without hesitation. Ms. Melissa, Ms.Julissa, Ms.Heather & Ms.Margaret are all amazing and care for the children like they're their own. It dishardens me to see previous reviews on Yelp that do not speak to how much Boingo's has grown. I highly recommend Boingo's Academy. 2020! read more

My kids have been attending Boingo's for over two years and we could not be happier. My daughter started there at age 3 and is about to start kindergarten this fall at age 5. At her kindergarten assessment the teachers were really impressed by her and kept asking me, "which preschool does she go to? Where is this wonderful place??" My son is 2.5 years old now and has been going there since he was 4 months old. The children spend a lot of time playing, either in their age groups or all together, which allows them to do a lot of play-based learning, and my kids both love their teachers. One thing that stood out to me right away was that the staff always refers to the kids as "friends" instead of "kids" or "children." My family had a wonderful experience with Boingo's Learning Academy. My oldest son attended from 18 months through 4 years of age, and my youngest attended from 2 months through 18 months of age. The staff were always professional, caring, and provided tons of engaging learning opportunities for the children. They were always happy to share details about my kids' day, which as a working mom, was wonderful for me to feel more involved in what they were learning. If there was ever a behavioral issue with one of my boys, the staff and the director/owner Laura were always open to implementing strategies that I would suggest. We really enjoyed our years at Boingo's, and were very sad to leave when we had to move out of state for my husband's job. read more

My wife and I recently just pulled our child from this awful place! It started off great until recently. The change in staff is un acceptable. There is no consistency here. The new site director doesn't seem to know answers when asked about the major change in staffing. My child was coming home learning new things in the beginning but not anymore. My child has not came home with new things learned or even arts and crafts in a while. The curriculum they state to follow is clearly not being followed. We never get greeted anymore. I love Boingo's Learning Academy. My child has learned so much these years since shes attended. The staff is GREAT!! Very proffesional and welcoming. Classrooms are always kept clean, toys are educational and appropriate for age group. Curriculums are always posted along the walls with daily schedules for parents to view. Center is always doing fun stuff, such as water day, classroom picnics, having guest speakers. The staff is very good about communicating with the parents and letting them know how their childs day went which is very important as a mother. My youngest (3 years old) has spent the last year attending at Boingo's Academy. We have had nothing but the best experience here! The toddler room staff has been amazing to our little girl and she looks forward to seeing them everyday. The facility itself is a fun and cheerful and the daily activities keep our daughter engaged. This is very important to me, as I have experienced day-care in the past that was boring and not very interactive for the children. We were fooled by Boingo's Academy. We felt good and positive about enrolling our son after we were shown around the facility. Shortly afterwards we noticed constant change in "teachers". The owner Laura was very hard to deal with and not very accommodating. I would pick up my son and the room would be in complete chaos...there was absolutely no consistency, and my son never brought any school "projects" home!! Very disappointed in our experience there. Boingo's Preschool is such an amazing place. Our child looks forward to going every day, and always has so much to share afterward. The children learn all about art, nature, music, different cultures, as well as getting a strong foundation in letters and numbers. I believe they are the only accredited preschool in Visalia. We are so happy to have our child there and would highly recommend it to any parents looking for calm, caring yet intellectually stimulating environment to give Boingo's a try. read more

Boingo's Academy is a class act. My son attended for two years. He had Ms Jen both years and she was so great with my son. He went into kindergarten this year and really knew his stuff. He has always been a little on the energetic side but Jen had a way with him that was exactly what he needed. She was always helpful and communicated well with me.
