We ordered food from here for lunch at work. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and fries. This was one of the best Cuban sandwiches I've had. The fries were a little soggy by the time it got to us but that's understandable because we were kind of far. Me and my friend came here for a quick bite after a hard day of carrying furniture from one place to another. This has always been saved in my list of bookmarks because it has such great reviews. I now understand why! The place is a hidden gem, in a little plaza right off a busy road (I think 441). I would have never stopped here if it wasn't for Yelp! We stopped by on a random Friday night at around 12 am and they had a live Puerto Rican band. The kitchen was closed by then but bar and hookah was available. I really wanted to love this place, but I couldn't. I ordered for delivery with pure excitement that I found a Dominican restaurant near where I live. I am Dominican and I have high expectations for Dominican food. Food arrived neatly packaged with care. I ordered: Grilled chicken, white rice, guandules, sweet plantains, tostones, fried cheese, chicken soup, two chicken empanadas and a tres leches. There were a mix of hits and misses amongst all of the food. My grilled chicken was just okay, lacking a bit of flavor and dry. Chicken soup was ok as well, nothing to rave about. I would say my two top favorites would be the fried cheese (you can't mess up cheese, that's easy) and the tostones. I would say they make tostones a bit different than the norm and it was not pressed flat, nor was it crispy. It was edible so therefore I ate it. The chicken empanada, had no filling or chicken inside at all, yes it was an empty empanada folks, first time I ever stumbled on this type of fail...see picture. Tres leches was good, it was a standard tres leches. I was not impressed, this restaurant failed to meet my expectations and was below average. Just when I think this restaurant, it's people, the FOOD can't get any better it surprises me again. This has never happened to me before because they package the food so well but Uber Eats ruined my dinner. Our favorite soup was spilled inside the bag...completely. I called Bohio to explain since I ordered two more soups. The empathy I received was so beautiful. It wasn't their fault and yet she apologized. Sent me a free soda and lectured the next Uber driver. I was in the mood for som Dominican cuisine. I came across Bohio Latin Flavor in Pompano. We were promptly shown to a table. The venue has simple and casual decor. It was 1 PM on a Saturday, and the restaurant wasn't busy. I was told they have live music late evening on the weekends. I will pay them a visit one this weekends. I had some Mofongo with Chicharrón, and avocado salad and a Presidente beer. Presentation and Flavors were good. Service was attentive and because it wasn't busy I was able to have a friendly conversation with our waitress. Prices were very reasonable. We went to New York over the holidays and tried for the very first time, Dominican Chicharron. The hubs loved Colombian chicharron and here in South Florida you can get it in a lot of places, but Dominican restaurants are more rare. We came to Bohio Latin Flavors to try their chicharron and see how it stacked against what we had in the city. Bohio is located in Margate, it has an understated exterior. Inside is has a Caribbean vibe to it. It was at lunch time on Saturday and was very slow. Just us and another couple. Both girls we saw were very friendly and helpful. We had a couple of questions and they answered them no problem. I ordered a Sancocho de res. Which is a typical Dominican soup. I've had it a few times and it has always been thick, more of a stew, this one was clear liquid. Flavor was good, but I prefer it thick. Hubby had the mofongo with chicharron and he loved it. We were told there is love entertainment on Friday and Saturday and Karaoke on Sunday. We liked this place a lot. We will sure come back. read more

The reason this place earns 10 stars is that they served my mofongo to go with a container of flavorful broth which a lot of restaurants don't. AND I got limes on the side. Everything came exactly how I like it. No alterations no modifications needed. These people know what they're doing AND the price is right. Support this Great Dominican flavor! It's local, it's delicious and a great price! Decided to do pickup and tried out "Los 4 Golpes" which is a brunchy-type of meal that included mashed plantains with some onions on top for flavor, fried cheese (which is bomb!), salami, fried egg and the additional item they add for 4 golpes instead of 3 golpes is the Longaniza (which is just another sausage). I also saw they had a lunch special called Mr. Beans and its a great value for rice, beans, and choice of meat. I went with chicharrones and it was big enough to be about 3 to 4 meals for one person or 2 bug meals for 2 people. Super friendly service and I plan to return to try out their chimi sandwich. Found on Yelp and was close by so decided to give it a try since I love Dominican food. It was empty since it was a Tuesday at 2:30. They have awesome salsa playing in the background and a stage for live music on the weekends. We ordered the Chicharron de Pollo, white rice, gandules stew and tostones. Mofongo in criole sauce with fish fillet. The meals arrived fairly quickly and nice and hot. Just one word of advice, the mofongo does come with chicharron(pork skin) integrated into the mofongo which my wife doesn't eat. We didnt know about it so she picked it all out so youll have to ask them not to make it with it if you want it vegetarian or dont like pork. We will be back to try other dishes. read more

I'm currently visiting south Florida and was looking for a place to grab some great food that reminded me of being at home (I'm Dominican). Saw the reviews for this place so I figured I'd order take out (though I'm vaccinated some members of my family aren't and didn't feel comfortable dining in). Here's a breakdown of why I rated this place the way I did. Location: located in a small plaza with very limited parking. Pretty inconvenient for "curbside carry out". had to park in a handicapped spot because you can't just NOT park anywhere due to limited space of "plaza". Food: got the chicharrones de pollo and they weren't fresh. You could tell they probably fried the chunks once and then just quick fried them again to get hot enough to serve. I ordered the pollo "al grill" and what I got was just breaded and fried chicken breast. I'm pretty fluent in Spanish and English so when you hear "al grill", you hear.. grilled. But not too much of a biggie there because my kid ate it anyways. I will rave about their chinola (passion fruit) juice because it didn't taste like it's from concentrate. Didn't receive any silverware, napkins or condiments for the meals. The advertised "pineapple filled Dominican cake" was not good. The cake was dense and the pineapple filling had a rancid aftertaste. I didn't get my cassava (yuca) empanada at all; which I was looking forward to since most places only make the flour dough empanadas. Service: can't rate on that since I ordered online and the only interaction I had with an employee was the 10 second call to let them know I was there and the usual pleasantries when receiving my order.
