I've passed by this place over and over yearning to experience this warm atmosphere inside. Finally, I bring myself into Bogartz on a cold rainy night only to have a horrible experience. Our waitress was nice but unenthusiastic, she lacked any recommendations. My friend and I felt we made some of the best choices for our evening. Cinnamon Porch Chops and the Sirloin Steak. Preparation did take about an hour, my plate was sitting under a heat lamp while the other meal was preparing. I'm sure very common for business but not the experience I'm looking for. Amazing service by Molly! Chef was on point. We had Clam Chowder, the Bergman, the Buster, & Steak with Asparagus Medley. Drinks were perfecto! The Dirty Martini was extra dirty & they over poured, so they served the access on the side plus a DreagonMead Final Absolution. We've been here before and this visit was fantastic. Went back last night....terrible service. I thought I found my new go to restaurant. Bartender was a witch. And the drinks are terrible.

We are new in town and always like to support local businesses, we ate here in January (late post) and every time I drive by I am reminded of how awful our experience was here. We were seated in a section that had a large birthday party, we were ignored, waited well over 45 minutes for food, our waitress was the only one working the section and seemed more interested in tending to the party then her other tables. As we were sitting there we noticed that members of the party would come and go from the kitchen making me think they owned the place or were managers. Which made it that more frustrating, they clearly put their party before their customers satisfaction. The food was good, not great, and with service like we had we are not going back. read more

Came here for the second time recently to have dinner. The waitress was very friendly and the service was quick. I had the chicken tacos, which were OK, but the plain white rice that came on the side was very bland. My wife had the chili, which she said was very good. Our friend had the small square margherita pizza, which was big enough to share, and quite good. read more

drink beer, eat food, enjoy the damn good wait staff. soups are never bad. salads are always fresh. whitefish is AMAZING! i don't know what else to say about it. this is a diamond standard place. i wish half of the bar/restaurants on mack av from cadiuex to 8 mile measured up to this place. go, go again and just for fun, go one more time. all sports are enjoyed. read more

If you have an Entertainment coupon, DON'T think that you can order an entree salad with chicken, as they don't consider that an "entree" and they will decline your coupon. Salad was more expensive than the "entree" that we ordered, but they still wouldn't accept the B1G1 coupon. Asked to speak with manager, and she would not budge. Asked for owner and he was not there. Very disappointed in restaurants that try to get out of accepting their coupon on a "technicality". I could have ordered the cheaper "entree" that my husband had, and coupon would have been accepted. read more

Being st. Pats day, thought it would be crazier, maybe we beat the rush? Food was really good, just the time it took was a bit much. Maybe they were short handed, but burgers took 31 minutes (daughter likes to time restaurant orders) and they also forgot the bacon to her bacon cheeseburger, an additional 10 minutes. Amazing food, excellent waitstaff, very friendly. We were not sure about this place, but so glad we stopped in. Family friendly and great spot to stop in to get a burger, pizza or wings and watch the ball games. Highly recommend you give this place a try. We will definitely be back. read more

Love this place! Came very frequently when living in the area, now we try to drive this way every couple of months for dinner. We love the atmosphere, especially the side with the booths. Great food overall and AMAZING pizza! Very, very reasonable pricing and always running good specials. Doesn't look like much from the outside just because of all of the businesses in that area, but it is well worth checking out. We absolutely love this place! read more

We go to Bogartz about once each week and have been for quite awhile, so we have had lots of opportunity to form an opinion. I think this started off as a sports bar but has morphed into something else entirely. The owners (she works every night) son went to cooking school and came back with great skills. The salmon dinner is equal to The Hills, a fine dining location in GP. We have not had one thing off the menu that we didn't like. Service is very cordial and fast, great bar, always a few top end beers on tap.Big TV's behind the bar, sports & news, plus tables and cozy booths. Pizza is also great, twelve of us will be there next week. Go and enjoy this place!!! read more

Just found this quaint little bar today and went in for lunch with a few family members. I had the best chicken tenders that I have ever eaten, my aunt had chicken alfredo and my sister had sliders with sweet potato fries. Everything was so good and the owner was very friendly. I will definitely be going back to try the sliders for sure, they looked so good. We all enjoyed our meal and the friendly atmosphere. They also have a patio out back but it was too hot to sit out there today. I'll save that for an evening meal. read more

Don't go there! They did a bait and switch on us. We thought we were getting the hamburgers that were on special. But instead we got larger hamburgers. We were very happy until we got the check. But when it came time to pay we found out that we were charged twice as much as the special. We complained to the waitress and she didn't do anything and when we complained to the owner, she really didn't want to do anything to rectify the situation. The waitress told her that we wanted the larger hamburgers instead of the special. So we paid in pennies and nickels and told the owner that we would never be back and we have never gone back and we never will. read more

I was surprised of the lack of reviews. Goes to show people take more time to analyze then complement. I admit I have rarely taken the time to comment. I traveled to Michigan to visit my husbands home town. I visited yelp bc I found good places in the right neighborhoods after visiting my old home town. This is publicized as a sports bar but December the chief cooked a tender pork chop but i also indulged the garnish of apple I couldn't help but eating. I asked for the chief special and was shocked and delighted. Cannot believe a sports bar yet classic place serves such high caliber food and great service. The bartender recommended a Palm draft. I wasn't sure since I told her we had a home in Florida. She let me try a sample taste of two others I asked for. After that I knew her recommendation was spot on. There is a level of sophistication and comfort my husband and I wish we could duplicate in our businesses. We plan another visit in July. read more

Best kept secret on the East-side! The chef, Jason, has compiled a menu that is half traditional bar/pub fare and half foodie extravaganza. The sliders are amazing. I spoke with Jason and he explained to me that he buys his meat fresh daily and makes the sauces from scratch in house daily. You can taste the difference that this extra personalized effort makes. Came into this restaurant with my family for dinner. Very great atmosphere and the waitress was very nice. The food that was picked was a special at the time and two pizzas. I have never experienced the type of rudeness at a restaurant before. The waitress made a mistake in my order, but I was asked why I wanted what I ordered as opposed to what they brought. The sweet potato fries were burnt. When I asked for a carryout to take the rest of my meal home because the others in my party were finished with their meals, I was chastised for not eating the entire meal! I have been stopping at Bogartz for lunch every few weeks for the past two years. The staff has always been friendly to me but not uncomfortably so. great perch! 10.99 all you can eat perch... yeah not quite had they said they ran out after watching them serve fish to others. Then they charge you for every tarter sauce .25 cents without discloseing it , Also you should know there are no free refills when you get the "All You can eat Perch" they are $2.00 a cup, but .......if you order anything else you get free refills ...? hmm kinda messed up, you only know this happens when you get the bill. Would have definently came back but with all the extra charges and different rules when ordering certain items. Asked for manager and owner came out our party tried to explain and express concerns to help avoid problem for future customers and was very rude but not as rude as his wife walking away and mumbling nasty words under her breath for our party to hear. Instead of trying to do something other than sorry he could have atleast tried to offer something for our ruined dinner. Only went here cause the advertisement in paper looked good and wanted to try something new, but this will be the first and last time and will definently turn others away from Bogartz because of this.
