    My partner and I are regular members who book scans a month in advance, usually on Sunday mornings. Unfortunately, the past two months have been extremely disappointing. Last month, my appointment was cancelled, and this month it happened again--this time with less than 24 hours' notice. To make things worse, my partner's appointment was cancelled the morning of. The reason given is staffing shortages at their "flagship" location, which is incredibly frustrating. We plan our day around these appointments, and having them cancelled multiple times is unacceptable. They need to hire more techs--after all, the job is essentially pushing a button. On top of that, their 5-minute grace period policy is ridiculous. While they tried to make up for the cancellations by giving us extra credits, it's not helpful if the appointments keep getting cancelled and we continue paying monthly membership fees while credits stack up. I'm giving this place 2 stars solely because the staff at the Bodyspec location are always kind and do their best to resolve issues. But the overall experience has been really disappointing.

    Always super quick. Great way to get double variation you are on track for your fitness goals. Just make sure you are on time because it can get busy and another 15min+ late you can lose your credit. I have been coming every 1-2 months for the past year and I appreciate the convenience.

    Just had my second visit. The staff is so polite and helpful, Anthony is awesome. The office is clean and smells really nice. Appointment is fast and easy. I even got a chance to get an instant peek at my results. :)

    Really enjoyed my first DEXA Scan! Ruben was friendly and explained the exam very well. I was in and out in 10 minutes!

    The space is tidy and clean. People are welcoming. A member gave me some instructions and it's pretty easy. The scan is fast and smooth.

I was about 8 weeks and didn't have a doctor here, so my doctor in Chicago referred me to this center for an ultrasound. I called to see if they accepted my insurance, and they said they did. On the first visit, we didn't hear a heart beat, so naturally scheduled a follow-up for the following week, at which time we did hear one. On both visits, we did not see a doctor, just the technician, who performed the vaginal ultrasound and did not give us much information. She said she would give updates to my doctor in Chicago, who then called us with information. We switched insurance right after, due to the move and new job, and I found an OB here. At the same time, I got the bill from UCSF--$2K per ultrasound, for a total of $4K. The ultrasound had a bunch of tacked on costs, like doctor's fee (I'm guessing the tech showed it to a doctor there), facility fee, etc. Insurance said they would only cover half of each, so we're paying $2K out of pocket. To make it worse, USCF doesn't have an automated monthly billing option, so I have to log in every month which reminds me (hence this review--I just made a payment!). When we went to my first OB visit, he was going to perform an ultrasound, but I hesitated and asked how much it would cost. He said even if insurance didn't cover it, the cost would be about $300. (Insurance did cover it). This is mostly FYI for those of you that may be going there for a basic ultrasound or something, to know about the additional fees that get tacked on, which your insurance may decide not to cover. We would have been better off going to a doctor's office or something without insurance and paying out of pocket, rather than a research hospital/facility that has a lot of additional fees.

I had to schedule an emergency mammogram (which is scary enough,…read moremaybe having breast cancer) and the ladies I spoke to to schedule an appointment were quite bureaucratic and uncaring. They required I fax a detailed and 100% correct order before they would schedule me, and their process took so long that by the time I got the right order in, there were no appointments left this week (it takes 45 minutes for a fax to come through in their system!!!... that's insanely slow. It's 2019 people, how about using email? Or a bit of human connection and heart?) So now after 90 minutes on the phone with them and my dr office, I need to start from scratch elsewhere. Never coming back here - they treat their patients like just a barcode in their computer system

For the second incident, I wasn't told it was cancelled until I checked with the front desk after sitting in the waiting room for 25 mins past my scheduled appointment time. Incompetency from top to bottom. Many customer reviews and several doctors I spoke to tell a similar story. The front desk staff of young Michael Smith, a young Latina woman and an Asian "concierge" act like detached, frightened children. Please note, pointing out their races is just for identification purposes. Before my most recent appointment, I spoke with the concierge about the need for the quieter open (vs. closed) MRI machine due to my noise sensitivity condition called hyperacusis, but she apparently didn't note the importance of that for the rest of the staff because one of their techs decided the image quality would not be sufficient which seemed to have led to my appointment getting canceled. It's a mystery why none of the front desk people could notify me before I arrived and sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes. I asked Michael for his supervisor/office manager's phone number which he was reluctant to give, first saying she wasn't onsite and "she's really busy", then giving me an email address with an incorrect letter in the name, confirming it even after I read it back to him letter by letter. After forwarding the message to info@simonmed.com as instructed in their reply to negative reviews, Brianna (not Brionna) Dolayo finally responded and at first seemed to want to help, but later flaked out on a phone appointment time we had agreed to. Unfortunately, they don't want to be accountable for the disorganized, incompetent mess of SimonDead. If you're a high risk, high reward type of person and still want to try them, I recommend not calling their posted number which just routes you to a call center which always took 20-30 minutes to make an appointment due to their system always being "slow today". Call the champ himself, Mike, at the Post St. location: 415-248-3708. He gave me that unlisted number, so you're welcome.

I was billed for services that I had already paid for, so I telephoned the billing department on 03/02/21. I explained the situation to Linda and she could not have been less interested in helping me resolve the issue, but told me that she would "investigate" and get back to me. On 03/11/21, since I never heard a word back from Linda or anyone else with Cal Imaging, I called back for an update. Unfortunately I was again connected with Linda (maybe she's the whole billing dept.?) and she was once again very dismissive and extremely curt with me. When I tried to get an understanding of what her "investigation" revealed, she hung up on me. At the end of the day medicine is about customer service and unfortunately Linda's appalling lack of regard for patients reflects negatively on the entire organization. Because of her, I will never utilize the services of this medical group again. My recommendation to management would be to provide Linda with some much needed customer service training.

Unfortunately, there is a Chinese speaking employee there who has been very rude and unhelpful toward my mother-in-law and other patients. When my mother-in-law asked for help with the check-in process, the Chinese-speaking employee told her to do it herself. If she were able to do it on her own, she would not have asked for help in the first place. The same employee later assisted her with lab work and rudely asked why she was not following directions. My mother-in-law could not hear the instructions clearly because the employee was shouting at her instead of calmly and patiently helping her. If your parents or elderly relatives come here and experience the same rude treatment from this facility, please report it to Labcorp and file a complaint. We need better service and respectful care for our loved ones.
