I came here late on a Friday and it was the only place still alive in downtown Naples. They had live music and the ambiance was inviting and unpretentious. I sat at the bar and the place was full of large parties and families. I think I found my new favorite hole in the wall Latin spot. I ordered the garlic shrimps to start and they were done just the way I remember eating them in Spain. For my entree I had the short ribs and the meat was so tender I wanted to order another one. Next time I'll be back for the paella and jamón ibérico. They had plenty of parking and a surprisingly sharp beer list. The prices were reasonable for downtown Naples. The staff was attentive and worked well together as a team; multiple people checked in on me throughout my visit. My parents are both high risk during this pandemic and they've been very cautious on where they go. Today they got turned away at the door. They were asked if they had reservations. They did not. THERE WAS NOT ONE SOUL SEATED IN THE RESTAURANT. & they were told they could eat outside or at the bar. HARD PASS. I wanted to love this spot and perhaps if we weren't in the middle of a deadly global pandemic I would have. The atmosphere and live music was really cool, but again- we're in the middle of a pandemic- the tables were very close together, multiple staff were not wearing masks, and twice while we were there they sang to customers (pretty certain singing indoors is one of the worst things you can do to spread covid). My gut told me to turn around and leave when we saw the crowded and unmasked indoors, but for some reason I decided to stay (so I know it's my own fault if I catch covid). Lots to recommend here. We started out with the red and white sangria. It was made to order and was excellent. Then we had the superb gazpacho. It was a creamy version. I would return for that alone. We sampled tapas alternatives of Spanish meatballs, sautéed mushrooms and were most impressed with the Serrano croquetas. Nice option was a small plate of paella del dia, though we thought it a tad salty. We finished with two desserts, the Panna choca as server Maria said, was amazing. Had the most magical experience last evening to celebrate my birthday. Walked into our reservation to the sounds of a band playing Spanish guitar music. Absolutely wonderful to transport you to Catalan! They have an excellent wine selection of Spanish and South American wines-we went with a Tempranillo. We had the wrapped dates, blood sausage and charred octopus to start and each was equally delicious in its own right. I was surprised that the blood sausage was my favorite-I am normally partial to grilled octopus. We split the seafood paella (crispy style/traditional) and it was fantastic. You can definitely tell that everything is made fresh, from their croquetas and the most delicious dates wrapped in bacon and the Paella. We tried both the Paella de Mar y Paella de Tierra. The seafood was fresh and tasty, the rice perfectly made. The Paella de Tierra was delicious, the meat was filet. They have a variety of sangrias and the most delicious desserts. If I could give zero stars I would. I could not believe my experience from the other night. I was just waiting at the bar for my friend that was meeting me there and the service was terrible. I saw the owner too, however; he didn't approach me, but I saw him talk to everyone else. After a while of watching the owner go around to everyone else but me I felt unwelcomed and neglected, so I left. I honestly heard a lot of good things about this place and was going to bring a lot of people here, but after this, I will let everyone know how shitty this place and the owner is. From the time we were warmly greeted to when we left, the experience and the food were exquisite. The ambiance was chic and inviting. We ordered a few appetizers; the gazpacho and croquetas were delicious! My favorite was the wine-reduced figs with goat cheese (Drunken Figs); now, that is a sexy appetizer! AMAZING!!! Great meal, great experience except at the conclusion when realized that I got charged for a small plate I didn't order. The small plate was brought to the table initially and when I explained it wasn't ordered, I only ordered two small plates not three, it was offered to me anyway "on the house". We tried this place while visiting Naples because our last name is Barbosa and there were some good articles about the place in the news. We are so glad we went. The food is delicious and we tried foods we've never had before. The bacon-wrapped dates were yummy and the chorizo in a wine sauce were the favorites from the tapas choices. Very authentic & delicious. I love their new expanded indoor dining space. What's nice is their patio isn't on a busy street so you don't have loud cars. Arrived on time and they admitted having difficulty with the online reservations and could not accommodate us for at least. 30 minutes. Asked us to have a drink at the bar and they would try to get us a table. Happy to see business doing well but this was just not acceptable. Let me just start by saying that I usually don't like writing bad reviews. But in this case it is highly recommended on my behalf and in my words that I write a bad review because this is the worst experience I've ever had. I placed my order at 4:30 p.m. did not receive it until 6:30 p.m. the time I had to leave to go to work. When I had placed my order I ordered garlic chicken and it had given me two options for sides. My first option I wanted sauteed carrots which I got. My second option was white rice and I never received it. I had also ordered a side of asparagus which I got. And garlic shrimp which I got as well. Now I do not think that letting an order go the way it did missing items is not worth $44. when my order was running extremely late not just by a couple of minutes but over an hour I called customer service through Yelp to cancel my order. they called the restaurant and the restaurant denied on canceling the order because it was ready. I understand times are hard but having to wait all the way till 6:30 p.m. is not acceptable. $44 for a piece of chicken two types of vegetables and the smallest tapas I have ever seen is not worth it. read more

Classic Cuban catered our wedding reception and did a phenomenal job! My entire Cuban family could not stop raving about the food. They let us create our own menu full of traditional Cuban dishes and they even threw in a few extras for us. They were very accommodating - no request was too big or too small. We had a very delicious dinner at Barbosa kitchen. We sat at the bar and had the roasted mushrooms. The grilled octopus was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. A very generous piece enough for two to share. The star of the evening was the seafood stew. The flavors were outstanding. I had to ask for more bread to wipe up every last drop of sauce. The food at Barbosa is five stars plus. However, The restaurant needs a host/bus person. The 2 person wait staff and bar tender cannot seat people, clear and set tables, and bring water and bread. Wait staff need to be able to spend time relating the specials, asking if you would like another drink or dessert. But We will be back because the food is so great. read more
