We are long time Staten Island residents. this was our first visit tonight. The restaurant is a beautiful venue and appears to be a manor house. All of the staff were very attentive, and there was a separate person for each purpose. There was no waiting for drinks or anything else. The menu is extensive and they were several special dishes I had the seafood with lobster dish and my wife had the filet mignon. Everything was excellent and well sized. we had to leave early, but the staff was very accommodating. We cannot wait to go back again. in general, a very pleasant, well run restaurant. read more

Finally made it to this establishment with the help of $100 gift card from my kids. This is a beautiful large place. Great service. Many different types of antipasto hot or cold and multiple choices of seafood, pork, steak, and chicken, however, nothing on the menu was striking me!!! We shared the following- Antipasto Freddo - roasted peppers, soppressata , mozzarella, cantaloupe, prosciutto, and seafood salad. The mozz tasted bitter, and the rest was just eh. The cantaloupe was amazingly sweet Rigatoni stuffed with ricotta with beef tenderloin tips and mushrooms in a red wine reduction. Sauce was too dark mushroomy and salty for my taste. The beef was small over cooked pieces. Pappardelle al champagne which was fettuccine with a lobster tail, scallops, and shrimp in a light cream sauce The lobster tail was totally overcooked. The sauce on this one was lighter than the other dish and was good. The bread brought to the table was no great shakes Olive oil and a small dish of varied olives. I was dying of thirst the rest of the night which is not a good sign. I know this is a very very popular spot but I just don't see it. Don't think I'd return. Yes I did have desert! Five Stars across the board! I was really impressed with Bocelli as it was my first time dining there. I decided to celebrate a friend's birthday there and let me tell you it was above and beyond our expectations. The ambiance is really beautiful with murals of Italy through the dining room. The first impression upon entering the restaurant was when we were greeted by the hostess, she was very welcoming and you just knew from that point that you were in good hands. 5 stars is not enough I recently hosted my daughter's engagement party at Bocelli's in the private room upstairs and can't say about this venue from start to finish! Firstly, Angela is outstanding and working with her was the easiest, most pleasurable experience. She and the entire staff were the most accommodating, kind people throughout the entire process of planning all the way through the night-of. The night of the party we were greeted by Silvia who was already upstairs setting everything up for us. We had brought in a lot of decor and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful setting up and making sure everything was perfect. Silvia treated not only the immediate family like royalty, but she was beyond attentive to every guest. Before you could get up to get a drink, another one was brought to you, she was constantly checking in with us and my daughter making sure we had everything we needed. There wasn't a moment that went by that she wasn't on the ball, the entire night- what an amazing feeling to be able to relax and get to enjoy an event and not have to worry about a single thing. We chose the Grand Royale menu for our guests and when Angela told us it would be an incredible amount of food, it was not an exaggeration. The food- beyond words. Cocktail hour had so much food that was constantly coming out of the kitchen piping hot and in abundance. Platters overflowing with lamb chops, meatballs, sliders, calamari, rice balls- one better than the next. Impossible to choose a favorite and impossible to walk away hungry. After cocktail hour was salad and huge platters of cold antipasti. The platters were not your average family style platters- they were beautifully presented on every table and packed with meats, cheeses, olives, peppers, mozzarella-again overflowing. The Garganelli pasta with panchetta- piping hot and delicious. For entrees, a choice of chateau Briand- cooked to order which was tender as could be and fantastic. A trio of fish and a stuffed chicken Marsala-a portion so generous it was shocking. Along with cake, Dessert platters on every table consisting of petit fours, cannolis, cream puffs, Neapolitan's- among other desserts with in abundance. A platter of chocolate dipped strawberries so big, I was again shocked by the quantity per table. I cannot express to you how impressed I am with everyone from management, to servers, to the bartenders. I have never dealt with a venue where you don't walk away saying "oh but I wish they..." until now. I am so grateful to everyone at Bocellis who made my daughters night so perfect. read more

I've always had good experiences at bocelli, however I had a truly disgusting one this week. the hostess really didn't know what she was doing. She was loud, rude and flat out had no manners. She doesn't know how to sit people and what should or shouldn't be a table. They didn't even have my reservation! This woman was so disgustingly rude she had to stand right behind me in my terrible seat that was placed right by the hostess stand. talk about disrespect to the PAYING customer. "Ayy oh, I know ur used to those city joints so I'm going to take u to the best restaurant on the island." Fast forward to pulling into a parking lot with a strip mall attached... And that's when I realized Toto we aren't in Soho anymore. If you judge a book by its cover, maybe you should walk in blindfolded. The interior is beautiful, great music, the service is splendid but the location needs to be changed, I couldn't stop thinking about it, that is until the food came.... The pappardelle champagne is easily one of my favorite pasta dishes. White creamy sauce, a split up lobster tail, plump shrimp, scallops cooked right on top of al dente pappardelle. As for the meat entrees, I suggest the veal, and I never recommend veal anywhere. 3 stars because I feel like it is a bit pricey, location obviously, and the parking lot is a bit annoying as well. We ordered take out for my wife's birthday. We were underwhelmed. The portion sizes were small and the taste was just ok. The Gnocchi Bolognese hardly had any meet and the ravioli bolognese was a small portion. The appetizers were awful. My wife had the rolled eggplant. It came in a big container and when she opened it, there were two small rollitinis. I had the calamari and threw it out. I don't think they use breadcrumbs. It seemed to be flashed fries dipped in flour. The chicken parm was a good portion but there was not enough sauce on the linguini and the pasta was over cooked. read more

Food was not flavorful, Salad was browning and had no flavor, Seafood Pasta dish tasted too fish and the sauce would probably have tasted better out of a jar, very bland and not fresh. It was ok. I personally thought it was over priced. The waiter was pushy we had ordered tons of appetizers for the table which filled me up. I wanted to order an appetizer as my main meal and he said I couldn't I didn't want to argue since I was with a group of people so I ended up with fish which was dry. My friends and I went to Bocelli's this past Friday evening. We made reservations for 730PM. The restaurant was not too crowded and we were looking forward to a great experience there after hearing the food was amazing. When we sat at our table, we were looking through the menu and the waiter came up and asked if we wanted to order drinks. My friends and I are not big drinkers, so we all ordered soft drinks. One friend did order a glass of wine. The waiter seemed annoyed at something from the gecko and set the mood for the evening. The soft drinks came but not the wine. We all ordered an appetizer and an entree. While ordering we were asking the waiter specific question and we all had the feeling he could not be bothered. One question was the sauce that is used on the veal parmesan, is it smooth or is it thick and chunky (big pieces of tomato). His reply was "I have no idea". We all laughed a little bit and I rephrased the question and he answered it properly. Our appetizers came and I have to say the food was very good, the waiter never passed by to see if everything was Ok. Our entrees followed about 30 minutes later and again the food was awesome. And again we never saw the waiter, we reordered our soft drinks through other people. Also, my friends wine never came. He did make an appearance after dinner to see if we wanted dessert and or coffee. The table order one dessert and I had a coffee. He never came back to see us to see how the food came out or how it tasted. The check came soon after and we were all fortunate enough to get a Gift Card for Bocelli's for the holidays. One couple had four $50 cards and we have two $50 card totaling $300. The fine print on the card does not say you cannot use the card as part of the gratuity. We decided that the the bill was $250 and we will give the wait the last card as a tip. Believe me, If we didn't have the gift card, the tip would have been lower. The waiter took the gift cards and when we're leaving she stopped us at the door and said very nasty, "you cannot use a gift card fro gratuity" we told him, to look at the fine print to see where it says that (which he did). The manager also came by and said it is not their policy and again we asked him to find that note in the fine print. He was also annoyed but said you are right and this time I will let it go. It was quite embarrassing and I couldn't wait to get out of there. I would have given Bocelli and 4-5 star rating on food alone, but with the horrible service from the waiter and this bad experience, I had to give it a 2. Lesson Learned: read you gift cards before you go to the restaurant, there were not discount coupon, they were cash gift cards. Also,we never received the wine (and never charged for it). read more

My husband and I chose Bocelli for our 1 year Anniversary Dinner today. The food was fantastic I highly recommend the pappardelle in cream champagne sauce with shrimp, lobster tail and scallops! My husband had the Veal Parm which was also very good. For dessert I had the almond tiramisu and he had the chocolate and vanilla mousse cake. The waiter (Sherif) was not personable or friendly at all. He was hard to flag down for refills or even the check. Thankfully other waiters were around to help us. I hope they pool their tips because he didn't deserve the entire thing for himself. Also, parking is horrific but the valet takes care of that problem for you. Overall experience is a 4 out of 5. Food is always fantastic here , but the service is always slow . Not a big deal , until last night . It's one thing to be slow , it's another thing to be ignored. The restaurant was not crowded when we initially arrived at 6 pm . By 7 it was filled . Last night the service was simply terrible . I ate here with my elderly parents and my daughters . So I'm obviously not looking for a marathon dinner . The waiter was beyond uninterested. Disappearing for long stretches . We were seated immediately at 600 . 615 we placed our drink order , apps and then main courses . Drinks were delivered promptly, but our apps arrived at 7 . A cool 45 minutes after ordering them . Not good . Our main dishes arrived at , wait for it ... 805 . 2 hours after we arrived and an hour and forty five minutes after placing our order . Not once did our waiter stop by to explain the delay . I had to actually get up from our table and search for him . Not acceptable. I asked our waiter what was the delay with our food , only to be told it's coming. He seemed annoyed as well , as if I was bothering him . He never returned to ask us if we wanted more drinks ( we did ) as we waited and waited for our food . Obviously you can't order more drinks if your waiter is nowhere to be found . He only returned a good 20 min after we finished our meal . Around 840 ! We initially wanted desert and cappuccino. No thanks . Not worth it at that point , we just wanted to leave as my parents were exhausted . We finally paid and left by 855 . Almost 3 hrs after arriving. I asked for the manager while we were leaving , only to be told " not here" . The food was very good , but the whole evening was spoiled by this disaster of a waiter . I'm sure the owner would be displeased , knowing we would have easily spent another $75 + with a more attentive waiter . Will not b returning. Extremely disappointed. I brought my girlfriend, daughter and her boyfriend to this restaurant with high expectations considering many of the reviews. honestly, the service was very good but the decor leaves much to be desired and the dining room is much too noisy for a pleasant experience. the food was adequate but nothing spectacular. Not much to say about this place that I don't like. For the amount of money you will pay it will be worth it. I went here for a party upstairs and it was nice. They have an elevator outside for anyone who can't walk the stairs. Helpful for my grandmother! When I went for dinner it was amazing. I was invited here for a friends birthday party, they have requested a private room and Banquet Menw with open bar. While I understand that my friend had best intentions but I was shocked of how bad everything was. Service was terrible, how do you send 2 servers for 30 people. Food was very subpar, my gnochi was so undercooked to the point of funny, pasta tasted like it was cooked 2 days before.
