We had stop at multiple stores along the way before finally arriving at this one. The three or so…read morestores we went to, the staff didn't bother to help us. When we arrived at this one, the owner was very attentive. He greeted us. He took the time and explained all the products we were tasting and explained his reasoning as to why he chose those products. Never once did we feel pressure into buying. We ended up purchasing two bottles of wine, pasta, and pistachio spread. Mind you the price he marked on the items are definitely more because he is the middle man and does need to make a profit. However, the markup is not outrageous. For example, I purchased the Capisti Crema di Pistacchio for €7.90 from this store. If you purchased directly from Capisti, it would only cost €6. However, Capisti is located in Bronte, which is an 12 hours drive by car from Lucca. I think the additional €2 is well spent since my time is limited. In addition, he kindly bubbled wrapped all our wine and the pistachio spread. (He jokingly stated that hes the Bubbl Wrap King, haha.) His service is amazing. If you're looking for wine, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pasta, and a delicious jar of pistachio spread, make sure you stop in here. You wont regret it! PS. You will regret not picking up a jar of Capisti Crema di Pistacchio. So be sure to get a jar. It's better than Nutella!

Somewhat removed from the heart and more populated sections of the Walled City, this boutique offers local goods at a fair price. Looking for some provisions, locally sourced vino, or a quality olive oil to accompany your breads? This is the place for you. The owner has lived all over Europe and the Americas, and is at home communicating in several different languages. His passion and knowledge of local artisans makes this a great experience that could easily pass for a guided tour of flavor. We happily picked up three bottles of wine and two bottles of olive oil; and I probably could've picked up or triple that amount if I had the space to carry it home. We cannot wait to go back next time we're in Lucca.
