Bob's Upholstery, now under the professional management of Bob's son, Nick, would make his late father proud. Initially, I had spoken with Bob last Fall, 2018. We discussed the project, and the general cost, since at the time, we lived in the Oldham County area, many miles from Bob's Louisville location. Now, finally relocated, I spoke with Nick, and my treasured wide-wale corduroy sofa bed (traveled many miles since 1971 /NYC) was finally picked up on June 29, 2019 and reupholstered and delivered to me today, July 10, 2019. If there were more stars than just five, I would gladly give them. Nick was wonderful, pleasant, professional, and prompt. Plus, his late Dad's quote was the same and the sofabed, is now covered in Natural 10# canvas and it looks simply F A B U L O U S !!! Thank you Nick and Paul... I have no idea how good--or not--his work is. We never got that far. Indeed, we talked for about one minute. What I know is that when I inquired about having the foam in the bottom seat cushion rebuilt, he lectured me about DIY seat covers and demanded, twice, to know what I did for a living (apparently, OEM-fit, hog-ringed seat covers are just too far above any DIYers capability, despite THOUSANDS of people--including people I know--having achieved good results). So, if you believe customers are to be ridiculed and interrogated by the people they seek to hire, and then hung up on when they say they don't want to argue; if you are the kind that likes to stroke tradespeople's egos, he may be your guy . Large but simple cushion/pad. Could not get the edges straight. They zig-zag down the pad. Flat areas puckered especially around buttons. Said he'd fix all that by stuffing in more Dacron. Delays & delays says he forgets (he is old) maybe just stalling ? How can he overlook a 45 in x 70 in x 3 in cushion? Looks like we'll end up with lawyers & court. He was arguing with another customer when we were there the 3rd time. read more
