The food was excellent, what you come to expect from all Belgian restaurants. High quality, great flavors, well presented and just the right portions. We went with some traditional Belgian dishes on this occasion - Fondue de Parmesan to start with, accompanied by the so important lightly fried parsley and fresh lemon. We followed up with the gambas and frites for her, the spaghetti bolognaise for me which is not your traditional Italian pasta but the rough Belgian version that comes with grated cheese (not Parmesan) and a dash of tabasco. The meal was typical Bruxellois and we loved it. If you find yourself in the Anderlecht part of town make the trip to Chalet de la Pede for a great local experience. Staff were very friendly and welcoming as well.

I don't say I'm a gourmet or foodie, but I go to restaurant 1-4 times a month, more when on holiday…read moreabroad. Still, this is probably the best restaurant I've visited in my life, or at least in the last 10 years. I'm someone who don't like many things. When I go to restaurants, most times, I order the exact same simple menu, consisting of beef, fries, cheese croquettes where available, and Dame Blanche as a desert. The croquette was really tasty but was not too tasty. Then I ordered a simple steak with a pepper sauce. It was really tender, cooked exactly as requested, and it's taste was so good I ate most of it without sauce. It came with French fries which were hand-cut, unlike in almost all restaurants. There was also salad which tasted real good, and I am not a salad amateur. Finally, I ordered a simple dame blanche. The vanilla ice-cream was really something, even better than what you get in most ice-cream places. The chantilly was -- I think -- home-made, but I could be wrong. Nothing to say about the chocolate, but I'm not the best to judge that. All in all, it's not the cheapest restaurant ever, but I really don't regret any cent I paid, and I will go there again. I prefer going seldom to a restaurant where the food gives you a couple hours of pleasure, than wasting money on a cheaper but tasteless experience.

I had dinner with a several of my colleagues. Our local co-workers had recommended this…read morerestaurant highly. I can see why. The food was amazing. I ordered a salad with chicken as an appetizer-wow! One of the very best salads I have ever had and the size was HUGE! My dinner was chicken. It was so big that it rivaled the size of a Turkey breast. I wished someone had warned me of the size of both the appetizer and the dinner. I would have just ordered the salad. It was SOOOO good. I didn't come close to eating 1/4 of my dinner which was really good. Such a shame to waste such tasty food. Highly recommend !

absolutely disgusted with this place,without doubt the restaurant and gardens look very nice…read moreindeed,but unfortunately due to the ignorance and lack of customer service experience of the staff,myself and my family never had the pleasure to experience either,on our first visit,we arrived to an empty restaurant,6 of us in total,6 thirsty travellers,but not yet ready for an evening meal as it was still early,but was told very abruptly that it was only open for food indoors and but we were more than welcome to have a drink if were willing to sit outside,it was about 5 degrees outside and had been raining,so seats and tables were soaked,,although we were far from happy,we respected their policy (altho bemused at them turning down money)and left,around 3 months later on a glorious summers evening,we decided to let bygones be bygones and decided to give the beer garden a try,this time we were hungry and looking forward to a nice family meal in a lovely setting in glorious weather,we arrived and ask for a table for 6 in a half full garden,there must of been at least 5 tables free,the staff asked if we would be dining,to which we replied yes,oh im sorry she said all the tables you see are reserved,but not untill at least an hour later,oh ok,is it ok to just have a drink then,no sorry,,,,,ok no problem,,just a big,go stick your business where the sun dont shine,terrible the way we were treated ps,i was forced to give the one star to be able to continue
