I tried Bobby Q for the first time yesterday. It was delicious! I've been driving by it for years and finally stopped by. The meat was perfectly seasoned, fall off the bone, and tender. The brisket was so juicy and tender. I wish I got the baby back or St. Louis ribs, the big rib was a bit hard to eat and I saved it for home. The sides were so yummy. There was bits of meat in the ranch beans. The Mac and cheese was kind of basic, but it a good way, very creamy and cheesy. They gave us cornbread while we were waiting for our food. The cornbread was nice and soft. At the end of our meal they gave us a bag of donuts. The donuts were so fresh. They did say they were fried in peanut oil, so that's something to be aware of if you have an allergy. It was a cute spot, it's off the freeway, we were on the patio outside and it felt like we were in a little oasis. read more

My husband and I came here on Sunday around 5 PM and were surprised to see a wait already. Since the weather was nice, we decided to sit outside. We went with the Whole Hog Heaven, which let us pick two types of ribs, two meats, and three sides. We chose Baby Back Ribs, Beef Ribs, Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket, Pecan Coleslaw, Mashed Potatoes, and Roasted Corn. Everything was super juicy, and the portions were solid. Our server, Joey, was great--really attentive and friendly. The only downside was that the outdoor seating felt a little crowded, and the chairs were noticeably dirty. I went between a 3 and 4 star. I didn't get a refill on my water ever so had to make it last the meal. Decent prices for portion, the started cornbread and butter is delicious (and complimentary). The beef ribs are ginormous and a bit on the fattier side. The donut holes at the end of your meal (also complimentary) were pretty yummy too. The sides were a solid choice, all options included. Back in April, after our experience at the Mesa restaurant (see below) I spoke with both Josh and Austin. They were genuinely apologetic and assured me they were mortified by what had happened, emphasizing that what we experienced was not normal for Bobby Q. They invited our entire party back that evening, but I explained that we live several hours away and wouldn't be able to return anytime soon. Josh told me he would put my name "in the book" and assured me that whenever we were able to come back, he would take care of our entire party. When we planned another dinner out at Bobby Q, I decided to give the restaurant another chance based on those conversations and the assurances I had been given. Before our visit, I called to let the restaurant know we would finally be coming back. During that conversation, Austin informed me that he would not be honoring what Josh had promised. Instead of taking care of our entire party as I had been assured, he offered only a small credit. That interaction left such a poor impression that we ultimately decided not to return at that time. Our dinner lasted nearly three hours, which is simply unacceptable, especially with children in our party. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived around 5:30 p.m., yet our first round of drinks took almost 30 minutes to arrive. Throughout the evening, our waitress was virtually nonexistent. Drink refills were nearly impossible to get, and we spent much of the evening trying to find someone to help us. The most frustrating part came when it was time to leave. We waited approximately 35 minutes just to receive our checks. Once we finally had them and were ready to pay immediately, our waitress slid the check presenter back toward us, tapped it, and said, "I'll be back for this," in a condescending manner before disappearing again for another 15 minutes. After finally leaving, we reviewed our receipt and discovered we had been charged for an extra side of mac and cheese that we never ordered. We had a party of 12, so an automatic gratuity was added to our bill. As we sat waiting for our checks, waiting to pay, and watching our waitress tend to other tables, we couldn't help but wonder if the guaranteed gratuity contributed to the level of service we received. Throughout the evening, she was inattentive, dismissive, and condescending. She likely received well over $100 in gratuity from our table, yet the service did not reflect that. I have no doubt she could have earned every bit of that gratuity through attentive, courteous service, but unfortunately, that was not our experience. read more

Went for Father's Day and got Anthony B as a server. He was amazing. Ask for him next time you go in and you won't be disappointed. After we left we realized that my son had forgotten his fannypack with his diabetic supplies and wallet inside. Came for the first time and it was a great experience. Plenty of parking and walked right in. This place is HUGE and can accommodate a lot of people. It's great for a large group. Service was outstanding. We ordered The Whole Hog Heaven for $88. There were only 2 of us but it's really enough for 4 people . You can get a great sampling of most of the popular bbq meats. We took most of it home. Another absolutely plus....the beer I ordered was ice cold which is exactly how it should be! I'm so excited that they had chicken options as their competitor does not. Friday February 28, 2025 The Phoenix Cane and Walker Society held the Weekly Luncheon meeting at Bobby Q. We got a great table, behind the Hostess and Donut Island, round, well lit. Ariel took our drink and food orders, delivered the trademark Cornbread Wheels with honey butter. Most of us ordered Perfect Burgers, medium well, the reast had plainer wings, sauce on the side. Our sides were Cole slaw, ranch beans and fries. Our finish was apple cobbler and mini donuts. I made jokes about Perfect Burgers.It really was a delicious meal. Cole slaw here is best in the valley. The beans were Bar b que beans; what I consider Texas Style. Fries, eay em fast before they cool. The Naked Wings were crunchy, crispy, meaty. With a choice of sauce, re-orderable. It was all re-orderable, Yum. The Apple Cobbler and it's full moon of vanilla ice cream waswhack my palate good. A little disappointed this visit. I placed a to-go order of catfish during my dining experience.. I asked for the catfish to be extra crispy, but upon receiving it I checked the container of fish and it almost looked flash fried. There was nothing crispy about it. We had a really amazing experience at this location. I've never been to a restaurant where LITERALLY everything I try is delicious! We did the meal where you Choose 5 different meats! Soooo good fall off the bone! The Mac and cheese is probably the best I've had from any restaurant (yes we try the Mac and cheese everywhere we go). The loaded mashed potatoes were incredibly flavorful, as well as the tender sweet corn bread!!! Very pleased with decision to make a group reservation for birthday. Donny and Isabella from the host planning were very accommodating to our group and our server Josias was super attentive. This left the remainder of the evening open for enjoying a great dinner with friends and family. Those details are what made the evening. Let alone the delicious 14 oz prime rib perfectly done and the mashed potatoes were creamy goodness. I'd say our entire party was extremely satisfied from the appetizers with bacon wrapped jalapeños to their dinners which looked awesome. Bobby Q never disappoints! The atmosphere was welcoming and the AC was amazing, especially since it was blazing hot outside. We were greeted right away and seated immediately, which set a great tone for the meal. The manager even checked on our table! Our server was fantastic. He was super friendly and attentive. I loved that they started us off with butter cake and surprised us with complimentary donuts at the end. The Q Rolls are still one of our all-time favorite appetizers here. For mains, we tried the brisket tacos (solid 4/5). I think they'd be even better as a birria-style taco to match the richness of the brisket. The baby back ribs were also a 4/5. The shoestring fries were perfectly crispy without feeling heavy, and the sides, mac & cheese and potato salad, were all 5/5. From the cornbread, to the tender and delicious ribs, brisket and sausage to the complimentary donuts which they could start a whole business selling that alone, everything was awesome. I was certain that with the amount of business and reviews that this was going to be a good lunch spot. Unfortunately it was not my favorite meal. First I'll start with the good stuff. The service was great, everyone was attentive and friendly and nice. No pushy upsells or anything. The vibe was good, easy breezy, very spacious. The food was not it. I'd rather have wood ranch bbq or even Dave's! It was just sloppy and saucy in a bad way. The brisket was all chopped up and doused in sauce (not at my request) I was expecting a sliced fatty brisket. The beef rib was rubbery and not very tender or flavorful for that matter. We told the server we were needing slower service as we were discussing plans and it was super slow, but the server came by every 5 minutes to see if we were ready to order. There was literally 1 other table on the patio and we were being rushed all night. Really put a damper on the whole night. Also, they used to give a free bag of warm fresh donuts at the end of the meal, and we got two cold stale donuts. My favorite barbecue spot in all of Arizona. You can't go wrong with the St. Louis ribs. The Services reliably good. The ambience is the best barbecue ambience you'll ever find. Nothing in the country slaps the way Bobby Q's does. Usually you go to barbecue place and they screw some part of the experience up by giving you plastic silverware or paper plates. Whoever runs this place clearly knows what a good restaurant experiences along with amazing barbecue. Excellent experience at Bobby's! BBQ isn't our go-to cuisine so we needed guidance, and our server Sydney was happy to provide it. We ordered the 2-meat platter (braised beef and bbq chicken) with sides of pecan slaw and mashed potatoes. Also got the perfect burger. Every single element was mouthwatering. I had the pork ribs and the rib tips. They were cooked very nicely but I did find the sauce a bit too sweet for my liking. For sides I had slaw and the garlic broccoli. This is unacceptable with what you get! They have really went downhill in everything. Call it greed or what have you but we had to put in another order at a different restaurant to feed 4 people! These portions aren't it!!!! You should be ashamed of yourselves. And only 4 pieces of cornbread? Very disappointed! The taste wasn't there either. Wish we could get our money back! read more
