Medina responded to my request for a quote on painting our barn, and rather than providing a quote…read morebased on the pictures I provided, he insisted on making the 2 hour drive to rural AZ to see the project in person. He made the drive, walked through the project with me, and provided an in-person quote on the spot. We thanked him and went with a "more affordable" quote, which was a big mistake. The company we contracted with (Rod's Painting) stood us up 2 days before the project was scheduled to start and returned our deposit, making us delay the project for 3 months due to winter setting in. When the weather broke, I reached back out to Medina and upgraded the project by adding our house to the mix as well. Once again, Johnny made the drive to revisit the project and quote, adding our house into the mix. Once we had negotiated a fair price, Johnny and his crew communicated regularly, showed up on time, and knocked the project out efficiently and with excellence. Super friendly, great attitude, trustworthy and a family guy. Check out the pics!

Final Update: Today…read moreI started to prime to find areas where glue was not removed. There were also areas that weren't sanded before texturing. I had to water some outdoor plants to find plaster on my flag, house and brick wall. The job was rushed and it was obvious. Medina Remodel would come back and fix these areas but I chose not to take the time to have them. They returned already to fix errors. I purchased a high end primer for the glue areas, a little sanding and spray texture in a bottle to fix myself. They needed to slow down and these small details wouldn't have been missed. Update #2 review: Mishaps happen and a lot of companies I've worked with don't stand behind their work; not the case with Medina Remodel. He was quick to return my phone call and was on my door step within a few hours. Everything was fixed, cleaned and left as it should be. I'd do business with him again. Update: two outlets textured over, overspray on my bed and the texture on the windows is sliding off. Medina is coming to fix the issues. He was quick to call me back. Removed glue from wallpaper backing, skimmed, and textured two bath rooms, Put me in his schedule at the last minute and worked all weekend to complete the job. I did the painting and in hind site I should have let him manage the entire job. He communicated effectively, gave us a contract, ahis bid was competitive and cleaned up the mess and hauled off the trash.

I decided to go with Southern NV Handyman Services I was looking to get 2 outdoor ring cameras installed. SNHS responded promptly. Communication was on point and owner Patrick did arrive within the scheduled proposed window. Pricing was comparable to other handyman services. Upon arrival, I showed Patrick where I wanted the ring cameras installed. He also patiently walked me through the process of setting up the cameras via the Ring app on my phone. The entire project took about 90 minutes from start to finish. Along the way, Patrick continually updated me and made sure the cameras were placed in the right spot before moving forward. If you're looking for handyman services (or pretty much anything home related - Patrick informed me that he could literally build a house from the ground up), I highly recommend Southern NV Handyman Services. Thanks, Yelp for another great find!

Initially, he provided a quote but then kept changing his story--first saying he needed more information (which I promptly provided), then mentioning that his schedule was filling up (so I waited), only to ultimately inform me he couldn't help me after all. The experience was frustrating, disappointing, and very unprofessional. There are many handymen out there, and I'd recommend steering clear of someone who lacks integrity and fails to keep their word, as it's likely a preview of future issues. LDR: We paid thousands of dollars for work that looks like it was done by a high schooler. Given…read morethe lack of speed, care, and precision, we could have done this ourselves and been happier with the result. Full review: We hired this painter via referral to paint our entire house prior to move-in, on a very strict deadline. During the walkthrough, we were extremely clear about the scope. Builder-grade mirrors and closets would be removed, walls needed to be properly patched so we could start with a clean slate, and the entire house needed to be completed by December 26 so we could move in. He agreed to the scope and the timeline. We were rushed into choosing paint colors due to the tight deadline, which would have been understandable if he had actually started when promised. He was supposed to begin Sunday, then changed plans last minute and started Monday instead. The job was estimated at two days, three days max. In reality, he and his crew worked December 22 and 23 for only a few hours each day, then had to return on the 26th, 27th, and 29th. Because of these delays, we were forced to move our move-in date three separate times. Even with all of those days, the job was never actually finished. The patchwork is awful. Spackle was slapped on with little to no sanding or blending, and canned texture was used that does not match the existing walls at all. The patches are obvious from across the room and look rushed and careless. Even putting the patchwork aside, the painting itself is poor. Lines are not clean or crisp. There are visible paint brush hairs embedded in the walls. There are multiple areas where the previous color shows through, and areas that were never fully painted. We had paint samples on the walls to help choose colors, and you can literally still see the letters we wrote on the wall to mark them. That would not be possible with two proper coats of paint. There are also areas with obvious overpainting and sloppy cut-ins, particularly in places that seem less visible at first glance, such as door jambs and edges. These are the kinds of details a professional should take care with, and instead they look rushed and careless. Prep work was also lacking. There is extensive overspray on our hardwood floors that we are still struggling to remove. Paint also got onto the ceiling in our entryway. When we pointed this out, we were told that painting that ceiling would cost an additional $200, even though it only needed attention because his crew got paint on it in the first place. After pushing back, they did ultimately fix that part at no additional cost. Under normal circumstances, we would have required the painter to continue returning until the work met an acceptable standard. However, we were under a severe time crunch, had already delayed our move three times, and have a toddler who could not be in the house with paint fumes. It also became clear that he had no intention of finishing the job to any reasonable standard. We paid thousands of dollars for this job. The agreed-upon scope was never completed to a reasonable standard, and when we raised concerns, no money was taken off because he claimed he had already sunk too much time into the project. He walked the job himself. If it was underbid or poorly planned, that is not the homeowner's responsibility. We have since had another painter come out, and it will cost over $1,000 just to fix the most bothersome issues, areas that we genuinely cannot live with as-is. This painter does not stand by his work and does not deliver professional results. Proceed with extreme caution and look elsewhere.

He does not…read morehave working capital, kept asking for $50 on day one onwards when it was clearly agreed that he will paid in phases after completetion of select rooms. No prep-work, covering of floors, does not have tarp, ladders, drill. Biggest flag was he could not provide a single reference besides claims of repeat customers on NextDoor App. First day, he showed up 2-3 hours late, he came w/o any plastic or brown covering paper, i insisted for the same so he went to Home Depot, he calls from there, saying he left his wallet with his wife and asked for $50. On asking why he could not ask his wife to pay HD over the phone, he made some weird excuses about she being at work but same day afternoon and next all day she spent with him helping, which was weird to say the least. Day 2, he said he will place the order for matching crown moldings in Lake Elsinor 6 or 7 am and be at our place at 8am. He arrived at 10:30 or so and that he was stuck in traffic. No issues. Stops at home Depot and again asks for $50 which my wife Zelles to him, while even saying that he has $10-20k grand from the last job. Great. So how $50 is going to help !? While prepping up, he tried to use nearly an empty caulk tube, which semmed to have dried out and he tried to cut it open to use the caulk. I offered our own caulk tube but he said he had others in the truck and instead we later found out, he used mud to fill up some gaps in the base boards. Worst of his painting skill and lack of tools & sprayer, he sprayed our base boards and trims with a $75 paint sprayer and it sprayed all over the walls he had alreaady painted and the cabinets, etc., which he had not properly covered and worst part, it was all bubbly. Our very smooth trims and base boards are all ruined now. He had already put 2-3 coats on the walls. And it would now require yet another coat. And plus sanding and re-doing all the trims and base boards to remove the bubbles. And the edges of the contrast colors bled into each other at so many places. Shocked, we asked what happened, he said he possibly used some old semi-gloss white paint (which he said he had 5 gallons of and we need not buy) and that paint was stored in a warm storage and hence got messed up. But i could tell it was a completely Flat texture, compared to the trims on the original bathroom trims next to the bedroom. It was 2 days already and he had not completed 1 small 12 x 12 room. And my daughters room was not even half done, even though we had agreed to do one room first and see his work. It was our bad, that I was in meetings and my wife let him start that room. At the end of it, we still felt for them and paid him for one room, thinking he will come next day and fix it. That night, we realized that he had used our new 5 gallon Ceiling flat paint to spray our boards and trims. It was supposed to be sealed. Wtf !? We had paid for it and he had kept it in the truck and he went out and filled the sprayer with it and we did not know. He would not.allow us to enter the room and said when he finishes, he would show it to us. That night, i sent him a simple message, that he would need to fix the issue and complete this one room first with the crown molding he was supposed to install as well, which he had already ordered on day 2 morning. Next day, he read the message and replied that he is on his way to pick up the crown molding. And wife replied with a simple Ok. And then a string of nasty messages from him followed out of no where, that we stopped reading after a couple and blocked him. At one point, he said to keep his tools, the kid sprayer, etc., but we said we do NOT want it and come and collect it and which he did. Pls look at the mess he left us with. We tried to fix the walls ourselves, removing the excess white spray on our new gray walls and did not take pics till a day after, whe we had already patched the walls. And yeah, on one of the walls, he had painted over a green tape, which after removing left a mess which we had to fill/ patch like 3-4 times to lose the tape mark. Twice or thrice we had asked him to get his professional sprayer like Titan, and he said he had 3-4 of them, even better than Titan, each costing $4000, but he never brought them. That was another indicator that we should habe let him go at that point. Unfortunately this incident led to many arguments between me and wifey as she was keen to hire him over others for his paint and wood work skills he said he had as well. Many lessons learnt. - Always ask for references and call them. And preferrably a video of them doing the job over pictures from the internet. - Always make sure they bring the tools, sprayers, pro painters use, ladders, tarps, plastic, covering paper, etc. - Make sure they have working capital. - If they are cheap, they are for a reason.

He lied about having a contractor's license. I paid Home Depot with my credit card over the phone. He originally quoted me 300.00 for materials, but when I saw the receipt, it was for $560.00. With my credit card he purchased a paint sprayer for himself, pringles potato chips, Mountain Dew, sodas, Lays Potato chips, and Body Armor Strawberry Banana. He told me that the job would take two days. While working on the first day, he informed me that his wife was in his truck outside. It was so weird. Completely creepy. After three days of arriving late, he finally told me he was done. However, the job took him five days days. I wrote him a check for the work. Within hours of him leaving, two of the cabinet drawers fell off. There were holes in my cabinets that he did not fill. Screws were missing. Many of the doors were hitting each other when closed. A handle fell off. He got paint overspray on the side of my dishwasher. Paint splashes on the driveway. I messaged him to let him know that if he did not return to fix all of the mistakes that same day, then I would stop payment on the completion check. He did was a no show. He left my cabinets in terrible shape. Completely unprofessional.
