    Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

We recently had a plumbing emergency at our home in Kingwood when water began leaking out of our…read moredownstairs toilet and creating a large puddle on the floor. This is an issue we've dealt with on and off over the years due to a recurring clog in the line, so we've had plumbers come out before to clear it. Because this was urgent, my husband called the Kingwood office of Roto-Rooter since they were the closest location to us. The technicians came out and attempted to clear the clog but said they couldn't get it. They then told us they ran a camera through the line and claimed our pipe was broken. We were then given an estimate of around $13,000 to repair the pipe. On top of that, we were charged over $400 essentially just for the visit and the diagnosis. At the time, we trusted what they told us. But later my husband started thinking about the appointment and realized something important: we were never shown the camera footage of this supposed broken pipe. He called the office afterward to ask about the footage and was told that they usually don't show customers the camera during the inspection and that the footage is typically sent later. But that raises an obvious concern: How would we even know if the footage sent later is actually from our home if we were never shown it during the inspection? Because of this, my husband decided to get a second opinion from another plumbing company. When the second company came out, they immediately ran their camera and invited us outside to watch the live camera feed with them while they inspected the line. What they showed us was very clear. Our pipe was NOT broken. Instead, the line simply has a belly/bend in the pipe, which we had been told about years ago and which can contribute to clogs. They were also able to successfully clear the clog during that same visit. So in our situation: * We were told we needed a $13,000 repair for a broken pipe * We were charged over $400 for that diagnosis * We were never shown the camera footage during the inspection * Another company showed us the live camera feed and confirmed the pipe was not broken * The actual problem -- the clog -- was cleared without a $13,000 repair As homeowners, we rely on professionals to provide honest and transparent information, especially during stressful emergencies. Being told we needed a major $13,000 repair that turned out not to be true is extremely concerning. What concerned us the most The biggest issue for us was the lack of transparency. If a company is diagnosing a broken pipe using a camera inspection, customers should be able to see the footage at the time of the inspection. Advice for other homeowners Before agreeing to any major sewer repair, make sure to ask: * Can I see the live camera footage of the problem? * Can you point out exactly where the pipe is broken? * Can I receive the footage before agreeing to the repair? If we had not gotten a second opinion, we could have easily moved forward with a $13,000 repair that wasn't actually needed. We would appreciate someone from management at Roto-Rooter reviewing this situation and contacting us regarding the $400+ we paid for a diagnosis that turned out to be incorrect.

My water heater suddenly stopped running and unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to restart it…read moreso I called Rotor-Rooter. They were able to respond fairly quick and took a total of about 10 minutes to turn on my water heater. The problem was THEY CHARGED ME $298.00 to do so! I found out that the water heater has a breaker that needed to be reset. My ignorance of this ended up being very costly; however, the fact that Rotor-Rooter took advantage of this is completely unethical and it shows that they are more than willing to put their profit making before their customer service. The technician that helped us was very nice but his company's policy is outrageous. I would understand paying a fair service call price, but $298.00 for a job that took only 10 minutes!!! Don't used these crooks!!!

A white van with JNJ plumbing on the sides and back abruptly cut us off, aggressively pulling over in front of us, almost running into the retaining wall, and causing us to slam on the brakes. We thought it was someone not paying attention to the traffic. We felt it was best if we got over from behind the van. So we moved over to lane three. The driver aggressively swung back over in front of us, almost losing control of the van a second time, causing us to come very close to colliding with the back of his van. At this time, there is no doubt that this person was having road rage. We begin to slow down, allow space between the two vehicles, and try to move away from him safely. We drove back into lane four. The van slowed and waited for us. As we got side by side, the gray-headed man began to give us the fuck you Signs over and over. This was a caucasian guy with white hair and silver wire square-shaped frame glasses. We had no idea why this guy was so angry. We had not observed him before the incident. The only conclusion we could come up with was we were not traveling fast enough for him. While writing this review, I saw a picture of the company's owner. This guy was the driver of the van that night. This rage was unprovoked on our part. As a police officer, Day in and day out, I see too many of these road rage events with people being killed because others don't control their anger on the road. Shame on you, Jimmy. Your selfish actions could have caused people to be killed or seriously injured. You should seek anger management. You could never do business with me, my family, friends, neighbors, and hopefully, no one that reads this review. Never deal with this businessman. This man is dangerous. The Reckless behavior you showed on Friday night tells me that this is something you do often. If you can't recall which individual you almost ran off the road, it was the two black females in the Mercedes this time. I will let you in on the law. Your actions turned your vehicle into a deadly weapon. Shame on you, Jimmy. You are a disgrace to your company.

Omar was our point contact with the proposal and progress. Daily onsite the crew boss briefed us on days work and what was accomplished at end of long day. Pleasant crew, and resource of our house. Our house was only the second bay house they repiped so a bit of learning dealing with 3 floors on pilings. They used best materials Hubenor PEX A and copper joiners for completion outside. They were competitive lowest bid of 3 . We were pleased with the work and 2other plumbers here working on a remodel said their work was good. We would recommend We Do Repipes to neighbors.

We stayed in touch over several months until I was ready to pull the trigger on my re-piping project. Once I decided to sign on, Omar connected me with Angel to lead my project. Angel and his team were very professional at all stages. He consistently asked about any questions or concerns I had and listened to all of them to provide solutions. This was a major project, so know that things may come up for the team and it will take at least 4-5 days for completion. My only feedback to the team would be that it became a little confusing for me having so many different teams cycling through and I found myself repeating a lot of the same info to each team. I also received calls from so many of the teams and different guys that it seemed like not all the teams were on the same page with communications regarding my project. Overall, I recommend We Do Repipes!
