Kathie greatly impressed me with her skill and kindness. She did a correction of my hair style in just a few minutes and did not charge me! I have been coming back to her salon ever since then and that was several years ago. Art of Hair Studio is a clean, friendly, easily accessible place where many of the customers chat with one another and their stylists. I have gotten excellent haircuts and beautiful color each time I go there. The level of customer service is excellent as well. They are very accommodating. The person who washed my hair always put something soft on the sink to cushion it for me. The person who answers phones and schedules appointments is organized and, unlike my experience at other salons, has never mistaken my appointment time. This is a friendly salon that provides excellent service at affordable prices. I always leave feeling good. Kathie is a good listener and understands what I am looking for when creating a color and a style for me. She is fast, focused and fun -- has a great sense of humor--and always manages to give me a beautiful hair style. I have had haircuts is high-end salons in New York City and Washington DC, and in many neighborhood salons in various places over the years. Art of Hair Studio has been my best salon experience. I highly recommend this salon.

One of the absolute worst nail appointments I've ever had. I walk into the salon early for my…read moreappointment and my technician, Arvis, is nowhere to be seen. When she arrives, she tells me she won't have time for my scheduled manicure, only my pedicure. She starts on the manicure for someone who arrived after me causing her to start on my pedicure a half an hour after my appointment time. Polish selection is severely lacking. I asked for "steaming" hot water for my pedicure and SHE TOLD ME NO. Said I couldn't have hot water "because of the bowls". I highly doubt the manufacturer would design a chair for pedicures where you can't use hot water. Absolutely absurd. Soaking my feet in this frigid water wondering why I'm still here. I am excited and surprised about the liner. Sad to say the highlight of my pedicure is a liner. Very dainty/delicate when filing my nails into the incorrect shape. TOOLS ARE NOT AUTOCLAVED. HOW UNSANITARY She unapologetically clipped me with the cuticle trimmers. Another positive: her calm demeanor. Nothing seems to phase her. Callus filing went well. Massage was decent other than her nails scratching/tickling the bottom of my feet. Actually, one of the best massages I've had with a pedicure.

I arrived on time for my scheduled appointment, my nail technician was Arvis. She was still working on another customer when I arrived so I had to wait a bit. When she started to do my nails she had me soak for a bit, while she had some lunch directly behind me. That wasn't the only thing I found to be unprofessional. During my manicure session she talked bad about a coworker that wasn't sitting to far from us. Didn't appreciate hearing about your work drama, considering this was my first visit with you. The pedicure was for reflexology, but there wasn't much of that either. In fact my toe polish chipped in a week in a half. I have gotten plenty of pedicures in my life and they last a minimum of a month. The only reason I didn't give her a lower rating because she did a wonderful job shaping my nails. The best I have seen in a while. Irregardless, that shape work isn't enough to have repeat business from me.

I would give A-List beauty no stars if I could. I hired them for hair and makeup for my wedding…read more The trial could not have gone worse. It. Was. A. Joke. A lot of these places have you pay a significant amount of money to do a trial (like $500) because it creates a psychological motivation to continue to do business with them (the sunk cost fallacy). Ladies do not be victim to this- even if you paid $500 and the trial goes poorly, do not give them more money! I paid the non refundable deposit to Ariel Lewis, and gladly paid another company $1,500 just to not look (and more importantly FEEL) like I did after my trial with A-List. The other company was professional, kind, used actual beauty products (see below), let me watch what they were doing, and were friendly. Find a company that works with you for your big day. Not works you for the paycheck. Hopefully this will save you the $500 trial with A-List: Let's start with hair. The biggest red flag was that she wouldn't let me watch while she was doing my hair so that I could be "surprised" - I was surprised all right. She admitted to me she had not looked at the inspo pics they asked me to send in, and asked to see them. She looked at the first one and said "K I got it." She didn't have it, because what was created was a departure from my looks. It wasn't a terrible style if it had been done well. I mentioned concern about the longevity of the look day of, and she said confidently it would last even though I could feel the pins slipping. I said repeatedly my hair texture is fine and doesn't hold curl. She said "Not the way I curl" and then put wax in it to "help." Everyone with fine hair knows wax weighs it down. It did not last. Not even through 90 min minutes of sitting still and getting makeup done (much less a whole wedding...). My trial was done at 11:30am and by 1:30pm my hair had fallen out of the bun into the two sad looped pony tails she had used to create the look, and was in straight tendrils around my face. Not a curl in sight. Even the initial finished looked was frizzy and you could obviously see pins. The best part was that the A-List makeup trial was after hair and she came in and asked "what time my hair trial was?" hahah. "Oh you couldn't tell it just happened? Your teammate just gave me an updo, obviously!" Lol Next was makeup. Ladies. They used E.L.F products. Correct- the products you buy for your nieces and occasionally find at the dollar store. I get it, this isn't the main event, it's just the trial so maybe they use different products day of? If so, that negates the purpose of the trial... I want to have my shades matched and confirmed which is part of the trial one would think. I paid for airbrush makeup- she did zero prep the skin. She pulled the machine out and started spraying- didn't even pin my face framing hair pieces back so there was a distinct line not blended around my face where my hair had been. The airbrush went on cakey and flakey and actually aged me about 10 years. It's not for every skin type so that's part of it, but at least try and prep the skin. I sent Hailey Bieber natural dewey inspo and she did old church lady rosy pink cheeks I am not kidding. Bright. Pink. And round. I looked like a toy soldier, even after I asked her to keep blending. The whole thing was a joke. It also didn't last despite paying for airbrush- which I was grateful for because I would not have gone out looking like that. When I reached out to Ariel Lewis to tell them I would not be using them for my wedding and talk about how disappointed I was, I was intercepted by an admin. Interestingly, I didn't ask for a refund but the very first thing the admin said when I said I wouldn't be moving forward was that I wouldn't get a refund. This exchange told me a lot about how they do business and their priorities. I asked to speak to Ariel to provide feedback. I never heard from her. Guess it's on me to keep reaching out? I was then told I could do the trial again with the same artists. Nah I'm good... If it were my business with my name on it- I would be embarrassed by this. Pics below of hair. I didn't want my face out there on the internet so I didn't post makeup. So- ladies, save yourself the money with A-List. Unless you want a good laugh- My Maid of Honor was there and we still get out the "after" pictures so we can have a good chuckle over wine. I hope this saves another bride the stress and money I wasted on the A-List.

Very POOR Customer Service. Extremely POOR communication. Why does a company refuse to list itself…read moreon Google? So they can avoid all the negative reviews. So it's not a surprise that A-List has no Google listing and minimal reviews available... do the math. It doesn't add up to a reliable and professionally behaving company.

Via our salon, the extensions were returned to be repaired. We were charged an additional fee of $600 for the repair. That was 9 months ago. The owner of Sherri Renee did not return any of our phone calls of which we made twice a day for a month about the status of the repair. There is an answering service that screens calls. Sherri Renee responded to an email upon indicating that we would be taking next steps since we are now out more than $1500 dollars and have no product. Apparently, she cannot reach the factory whom she works with in Asia and after a week from my initial contact, still has no further information. BTW, I had to follow up with her, she did not follow up with me. She is still citing the pandemic as the reason for the delay. While that is absolutely true about delivery delays, it does not explain her not being able to contact the factory that she works with. I would not recommend using any company where the owner has no access to their own products, cannot contact the factory that they do business with, has no solutions and offers no options for resolution.
