Bluff Point Light was in service on Lake Champlain from its construction in 1874 until 1930 when the original light was replaced by a newer, more substantial light installed on an adjacent steel tower. in 2004 that light was removed by new york state authorities and the coast guard and a new aid to navigation was installed back in the lighthouse.
significant and major reconstruction of the exterior took place in 2015 with the clinton county historical association continuing to maintain the building and property. read more
