DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE - PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU CHOOSE THIS FACILITY - 1 STAR…read more My mother was at Accel at College Station from May 2026 until she passed away there on August 17, 2026. I am writing this for her and for the other residents still there who can't speak for themselves. This facility does not provide basic care unless family is there every day fussing to make them do it. My mother was not bathed regularly or have her teeth brushed. When we would call and ask her during the week if she had a bath, she would say no. My family had to sit there until they finally gave her a bath and we believe the shower log was falsified. I had to give my own mother a bath myself. Rooms are not kept clean or safe. My mother's bed was broken for about 2 months and was never replaced - I have video of her laying in it. Trash was overflowing onto the floor. Food that family brought would sit on her small dresser until gnats and mold were growing on it. I have video of a pillow wrapped in a plastic bag with feces on it laying near the front door of her room and I was looking for the pillow because it was the one my Mama used to sit on they pretend they couldn't find it. Residents are kept parked in the front lobby area by the nurses station even if they don't want to be up there so staff don't have to go to their rooms to check on them. My mother told me many times she was tired and wanted to be in her room but they made her stay in the lobby. Personal belongings constantly came up missing. My mother's cellphone came up missing twice - once it mysteriously appeared under her bed a week later, another time it was found in another patient's room. Her perfume, body spray, and house shoes also disappeared with no explanation. I have voice audio of my mother saying she believed they were taking her phone because they didn't want her telling us they weren't doing their job. I also have a voicemail of her saying how much she hated this place because she wasn't being treated right. We asked to place a camera on our mother's side of the room for her safety. The supervisor kept procrastinating and kept saying they were waiting on her roommate's family to comply with the request. It never happened. I believe they stalled because they didn't want us to witness what was and was not being done. Most times I visited, workers were sitting at the nurses station on their personal phones or in the open area in the corner where the books are by the ice cooler watching movies on their phones, not doing their job. When you asked for help, they would catch an attitude. I watched a janitorial worker sit next to his cart in the lounge area for a long period of time doing nothing while rooms were dirty. Her roommate had a horrible smell from not being taken care of and I was worried about her too. It takes a special person to work in a facility like this with compassion and love for people. They should not hire people who are just there to get a paycheck. Not all workers are bad - there were a few who were very helpful - but the bad ones are reflecting on everyone else and the whole culture needs to be fixed. The DON needs to go around and check to make sure workers are actually doing their job. Maybe they need cameras to see what is really happening. I looked up reviews for this facility after this happened and almost all of them are very bad. I would never want another family to go through what we went through. Our loved ones deserve dignity, cleanliness, and care. Please think twice before placing your loved one here.

HORRENDOUS service--absolutely appalling and beyond unprofessional. We hired Visiting Angels to…read moretake care of my 87-year old father yesterday and the caregiver did the following: - arrived 10 mins late - proceeds to ask my mom if she could step out to run an errand and go to HEB to pay a bill - wore her mask on her chin (My father has not yet been vaccinated as he was just released from a rehabilitation hospital a few days ago. My mom had to ask her to wear her mask properly.) - never introduced herself to my father or interacted with him (she sat in the dining room while my father sat in the living room) - she watched shows on her phone literally the entire time she was at my parents' house - went to the restroom for 15 minutes at a time - folded 1 article of clothing when she was asked to assist with tidying up the living room - after reluctantly washing a few dishes, my mom gave her a plate after my dad was done eating breakfast and the caregiver asked, "Am I really supposed to wash this plate as well?" - Used the restroom for over 15 minutes at a time - FELL ASLEEP -- we have photo evidence of this. She laid her head down on the dining room table while her phone was propped playing her shows and she dozed off for over 20 mins. We contacted Visiting Angels immediately to complain about this caregiver, and showed Marisol Mauricio (Client Care Coordinator) the photo of their caregiver. She proceeded to almost make an excuse for the caregiver by saying, "Well, it appears as though she's reading something" -- though it was clear that the caregiver's eyes were closed and she was sleeping. Regardless, a caregiver should not be on their personal cell phone watching shows when she is supposed to be working and tending to an elderly person. We sent the caregiver home because instead of actually assisting, she only caused more headaches. And thank God my mother was home to witness all of this because she was originally going to work today. Otherwise, we probably would have never known the extent of this caregiver's neglect and incompetence. Our experience was incredibly disheartening, as we had high hopes after everything that was initially promised to us during our initial meeting with Claudia Massie (Director of Patient Care). My mom requested to speak to Claudia today after this unfortunate incident and never heard back from her. This service was supposed to assist, not create additional issues than we're already experiencing with my father's declining health. While this one caregiver may not represent all the caregivers in the entire company, it is rather difficult to believe otherwise when its directors have made zero effort to fix/make up for the actions of one of their unfit caregivers. The fact that this company is called "Visiting Angels" is ironic. They are anything but angels. Do yourself a favor and do not hire them. Hiring this company would create a huge risk as well as an unsafe situation for your loved one.
