Fine motor skills and sensory bin area

Bird Bird Gap Farm is a gem for families looking for a fun, safe, and engaging place to spend the day. Right near the entrance, you'll find clean and well-maintained restrooms--something every parent can appreciate! Off to the side, there are fantastic sensory and fine motor skill activity stations that are thoughtfully designed for all kids, including those with sensory needs. The highlight for many is the amazing playground. It's spacious and exciting, and best of all, the swings are inclusive and accessible for children with disabilities, which makes this space truly welcoming for everyone. In addition to all the fun, there are friendly farm animals to visit and interact with, which is always a hit with little ones. Plus, there are not just one but two free little libraries on-site (1:the one for kids is located near the garden gazebo and main animal area 2: The young adult one is located near the swings leading you to the fine motor skills and sensory bin area) perfect for encouraging reading and relaxing in a peaceful setting. I highly recommend packing a lunch a blanket and grabbing a book and enjoying by the small pond. Lots of photo and learning opportunities here! Bird Bird Gap Farm is more than just a place to play it's a space that values accessibility, creativity, and community. Highly recommend! Look out for the white peacock!

I can't think of a prettier, fun-er, or more enriching park to spend the day at. There have been many upgrades since the park first opened.

Lots of animals to see including goats horses and cows! They had a playground for the kids for all ages and honestly just a beautiful establishment the only issue we had is we did have a snake slither onto our path when heading to the duck pond absolutely would recommend though just watch your step!

This is a GREAT, RELAXING, FUN and FREE place to go with family, friends and/or solo!! There is plenty of seating , tables and pavilions. The staff were very friendly, the grounds were very clean, there are restrooms, water fountains, great playgrounds, tons of free parking, handicapped parking, trails, a concession stand with snacks and beverages and informative wildlife and plant information. The animals were out enjoying the weather and people too! It's a great place for groups and fun for all ages!! YES!!! I do recommend Bluebird Gap Farm to my family, friends, friends of friends and, NOW, the World too!!! It's a MUST stop!

This was a good family outing; however, they didn't have any feed to purchase to feed the animals which was disappointing. The kids did enjoy the play area.

We stumbled upon this little wonderland during a road trip, while looking for a park or green space to let stir crazy kids stretch their legs. I wish we lived closer! There is a small farm, two great age-based playgrounds, and a wide grassy space with picnic tables and wandering peacocks. Plenty of bathrooms and a dedicated parking lot, plus visiting ice cream trucks. I saw information on booking the space for birthday parties or similar events, which seems like a great idea. My kids still talk about this gem of a place!

I always forget to go here! It is super cute with the playground and open areas to walk around. The kids LOVE the animals. Being able get close to the animals and see them all is such a nice thing! Horses, pigs, chickens, and peacocks. There is covered canopy's to sit under and plenty of benches to sit if you need to as well. There is a nice little trail to walk down. There are a few different playgrounds for different ages and they even have swings.

This is the perfect destination for a play date for your little ones! Especially if you're trying to wear them out. This farm is free to the public which is great if you're budget-conscious and the kids get to get up close and personal with the animals. My daughter was petting everything she could get her hands on. She saw goats, turtles, a peacock was freely roaming, chickens, turkeys, pigs, it was a great experience. There is a playground for free play with plenty of swings. I always go to parks and there are like 2 baby swings this one has at least six which was great. There is a playground set for big kids and little ones and it's an overall good time! We spent about two hours here and the kids had a blast. Would definitely go again.

Farm like theme park it's beautiful how the staff working there have the passion and love for farm animals. The garden is amazing with plants and trees it's hard to find .

Great fun! Many animals and we'll maintained. Beautiful trail short section attached to the farm as well!

We took our 18 month old daughter this morning, and really enjoyed our time. Lots of animals, peaceful environment, and big playground!

This was the cutest little find as we were wandering around Hampton, VA. Yelp for the win! We were looking for a short little detour kind of adventure, and this is exactly what we needed. This little farm is full of different animals. Baby goats, cows, ducks, llamas, if you can work it into the Old McDonald song - its here. It's free to get in, you can pay for animal feed, and basically just wander around this educational little pit stop. Apparently a lot of the local schools do field trips here. I was a little concerned that no one was checking in on the animals, it's hard to find a farm employee around. But we were able to ask some questions from a young man that we met in the barn. They had recently adopted a few pigs that needed medicine for a skin condition. So I think they're a sort of rehab farm as well? I'd totally stop here for a picnic and to spend some time on the cheap. Super cute. The peacocks roam freely, so leave them alone and they'll do the same. Take your time reading the little educational panels and signs. I'm glad we went, I'd definitely go back if we were in the area.

Took my daughter here for the first time... OMG she loved it! Beautiful animals, fun playground for the kiddos, nice garden to take a stroll, and a picnic area. Great FREE family spot.

With the field trip we got to see and learn about ALL the animals, we were able to feed majority of them as well as go inside the bird sanctuary. Then in the end they played in the tree forts. Our group got a goodie bag of pencils and flyers. It has been a while since I had come to Hunt Club farm, my prior experience was not so grand. I'm happy to see all the updates they have made including how well they're keeping the animals. Great experience.

They loved the animal enclosure especially the chickens and were very excited about the goats. The playground was also wonderful and perfect for my 2 year old to run around and explore. My 2 year old is on the autism spectrum, so I really want to recognize that the environment at the farm felt very sensory-friendly. The gated areas were especially helpful because my son tends to elope, and it allowed me to feel much more comfortable letting him explore. For families with toddlers or children with additional needs, that kind of setup makes a big difference and is truly appreciated. However, I'm very disappointed with our experience during the pony ride. I paid $10 for my 2 year old to ride a pony, and I was genuinely excited because it was his first time ever being on a horse. I've heard so many positive things about how horse riding can help regulate children on the spectrum, so this was a moment I was really looking forward to as a parent. Unfortunately, the staff member who took us around for the pony ride was extremely rude and clearly seemed like she did not want to be there. Her attitude made the interaction very uncomfortable, and it honestly felt like we were an inconvenience. I pushed through the moment so my son could still enjoy his ride, but it completely took away from what should have been a really special first experience. When we looked back at the photos we took of the moment, in some of them she is actually rolling her eyes, which was very disappointing to see. No parent wants their child's first experience with something special to feel like they are bothering the staff. I'm sharing this feedback because the farm itself is a wonderful place for young kids, and I hope management is aware of how interactions like this affect families' experiences. The animals, playground, and environment were great, but customer interactions especially during experiences like pony rides should feel welcoming and positive for families and children.

It was so good, and not too sweet or tart from the strawberry! I also had to grab their strawberry donuts from the farm stand. Which, needless to say ... they did not make it home with me. We scarfed those down! Incredible. I loved the "petting zoo" area. You can feed the goats, sit in the rabbit pen and give them some pets, and play with the piglets! Such a cute add on to this experience; and the petting zoo was no charge! They also have a ton of toys and bounce houses for the kiddos. There were many children, which looked like they were on a school trip. Before coming, I searched the zoo's website and found out they had admission discounts for whomever had Medicaid. It stated that admission price was $7. Of course, they had to ID you to see if your name matched the card. To my surprise, admission was just $4.95, which was a steal. I brought in food and water for my son and I, as most people did. First stop was the Fountain Plaza, where I had to figure out which way I wanted to maneuver. I went left to Asia and Africa trails, as my son wanted to view tigers, lions, giraffes, and monkeys. Each exhibit had 1 or 2 animals. Very bare. The monkeys had 3 the most. Not too many animals were active, which is understandable because this is their normal wild habitat. I was expecting to see my favorite animal, the elephant. Apparently, they are no longer there, as well as gorillas. I enjoyed the giraffes, rhinos, and zebras in Africa. They had the most energy. The cheetah and lion were off the exhibit that day. Following those trails, my son wanted to ride on the train. It is $3/rider. They have a strict policy of having all hands and feet at all times during the ride. This all took 2hrs. I didn't bother checking the other side of the park because it was starting to drizzle. This zoo was just ok to do something with your kids so that they can get acquainted with various animals from other parts of the world or just a date. I've been to better zoos, it was just so bare. Be prepared for lots of walking, so bring water.
