This review is all over the board because some things were really outstanding and others lacking. Pros. The resort has a trampoline in the water, slides, paddle boards, paddleboats, canoes, kayaks, all included in the price of the resort and all of the water toys were laid out daily so 5 stars for that. Additionally the kids club was wonderful and they did so many fun activities with the kids like an animal show and tye dye t shirts. I really love the family friendly bonding as it should be feel. Cons The cabins while they are right on the lake are really bare bones so for someone like me who isn't familiar with cabin life it was a surprise. No tvs or wifi in the cabins which could be a plus for family bonding. The main dining room has breakfast and dinners included and the dining room is simply beautiful with a view of the lake. However the meals and service were below average. The fish was either too dry or steak too raw. The breakfast was inedible to me but the price of the resort is very reasonable so I guess I can't complain?? Also service isn't great. They forgot my meal and I had to find someone to bring it and forget about refills. All in all, the experience was perfect for family bonding and with a few tweaks this place could easily be 5 stars.

Staff was very friendly and offered a children's program which my kids really enjoyed. The food was good and we left every meal stuffed. It was 13 hour drive for us to get here but if it were closer we'd definitely come back.

It's been years since I've stayed at a Holiday Inn and after seeing all the favourable reviews, we…read morebooked to stay at this property in Huntsville. The hotel is located across the street from Walmart and a few fast casual dining places. Check in was efficient. Covid screening was conducted. Hand sanitizer is available in higher traffic areas such as at check in and near the elevator. The room is clean and bed is comfortable. Fridge, microwave, an Keurig machine were available in the room. Free grab and go breakfast is also available including omelettes, sausages, pancakes, choice of prepackaged cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread, coffee, tea, and juice. For those interested in using the pool or fitness areas, proof of vaccination is required. Per the public health unit, only 1 person is allowed in the fitness area per hour (even if my hubby and I wanted to work out together). A comfortable stay for more reasonable prices than many other hotels in the area. Would definitely consider staying here again if in the area.

We love the north, the autumn in the north and of course the colours. Check in was quick and pleasant stayed on the fourth floor and the view towards the back of the hotel was good. The room quite spacious and the king sized bed was perfect. The bathroom was clean and fresh and over all the hotel is a new and so everything looks fresh. The TV selection is limited with no premium channels. And as usual the remote just as many places we have stayed are slow to react - either low batteries or just the way they are. The breakfast is premise eggs, some meat options and toast, bagels, cinnamon rolls and machine that made pancakes. Which were not useful for us except for toast and bagels. The coffee very weak. Surprised to see non dairy milk provided for cereals and oatmeal which we were pleased. Would definitely return.

The WEIRD/NOT GOOD - uh...resort fee charged BUT none of the paddle boards/canoes etc are available until after 9am on Fri (we were here on a Thurs) 2. No one ever answers the phone or the front desk when calling from within the room...we called to ask WHY IS THERE NO HOT WATER...is it a cold shower resort??? 3. Now terrified to order food from that restaurant...we should have done deeper review research We won't be back or recommend but we did manage to enjoy a nice swim in the lake This place could be renovated and turned into a super awesome place !!!!

Norman Bates would not have stayed there. I walked into their crappy entrance and noticed immediately the place needs to buy a broom and sweep up. Once inside the lobby I felt a quantum leap into the 1980s....um 40 years of decor no no's that was a no back in 1980. The checkin lady was nice but had zero hospitality training. But the concierge was clueless... oh wait there wasn't one. My favorite part was Lake E.coli - I mean it was late September and already cold so I didn't need to be greeted on checkin with a big sign stating the lake was closed for recreation because of Escherichia coli that s a Gram-negative, facultative anaerobic, rod-shaped, coliform bacterium of the genus Escherichia that is commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded organisms. Credit Wikipedia If you dare to stay bring your own booze, as the bar is only open from 5-9p. And you are going to need a lot of booze, some gummies, and maybe a few vicadin for good measure because no early checkin. They are hard core on 4pm checkin which in hindsight is fine because you will want to spend the least amount of time in the dingy - hey was there a sale on shit brown and peestain tan paint, craphole of a room. So because I could get in my room I took a stroll on the resort grounds - well that was a mistake, see pics. I used the gym which was nicely equipped and even had the smell of dead jimmy hoffa - awe the ambience. The lake was pretty to look at.... Fredo your my older brother and I love you, now you go swimming first and let me know how it works out. So not a great stay but boy did we have some laughs anyway. Ps the room photos are misleading because there is no scratch and sniff on them to enjoy the smell of death warmed over. Thank you Canada for legal weed as that was helpful too.
