First off: No pool/darts/shuffle board/stereo during 'dinner hours.' Makes the old people grumpy. Plus, there's a sign. My family of 6 was satisfied. My burger was a little burnt, but the fries were great. The ranch is NOT good. I'm a ranch snob. This made me sad. I think prices are a little high, but they're the ONLY place around here other than the casino. Full bar. A lot of beers on tap. Bathrooms are nice. A neat little photo op area out front. I know I'll be back some day but as earlier stated, it's like, the only place around.

Niobrara Nebraska is a tiny town, but with the rivers and rolling hills it's pretty. The restaurant didn't look promising from the street but when you drive around the back it had a cute entrance. Inside is smallish with a bar on one side of a half divider and tables on the other. The interior decor was definitely sportsman themed with taxidermy animals everywhere and an antler chandelier. But it was clean and cute. Great wooden bar and tin ceiling. There were maybe 10 people in here on a Tuesday night and several looked like regulars watching Wheel of Fortune at the bar. The service was good, one bartender who was also waiting tables but I didn't wait long for anything I ordered a sweet tea which had a weird flavor so I exchanged it for a Coke which was also weird so I didn't drink it. I ordered a bacon burger but since they only had American cheese, I got mine sans cheese. That said, the burger was good. It was big and really juicy and the thick sliced bacon was a nice addition. I ordered cheese curds instead of fries and they were also good. Definitely not a gormet place, but it was solid. And considering it's the only thing in Niobrara Nebraska, it's great compared to the competition! Edited to add that the women's restroom smelled weird, there were two stalls but one was out of order. The stall had two swinging doors with a two inch gap right down the middle. And the doors were so close to the toilet that they literally slapped me on my ass on my way in!

Following day, woke, left for another day on the lake. Upon arriving back at the hotel to shower and go for dinner, we discovered our room key didn't work. We went to the desk to get a new key only to be informed that the room had been cleaned. And then noticed our suitcase was behind the desk. We inquired on what the hell was going on. They had cleaned our room and tried to tell us we only had booked one room....my credit card can prove otherwise. Now the real bullshit- we asked if the fish was taken from the freezer. The receptionist told us we needed to find "Marla" the cleaning lady. Even when Marla was found, we were told our fish was gone. WTH is going on with this place. We cut our trip short and decided to come home. DO NOT STAY HERE. WOULD HAVE GIVEN 0 STARS IF IT WAS POSSIBLE.

The manager who came by was also very accommodating to us. The casino gaming floor was very simple, really just having just video slot machines and 6 tables that I saw in front of the cashier. It was enjoyable and there was minimal smoking going on. There seems to be very good odds, as most of us came out just a little bit ahead. Definitely a far better turn and return than Vegas or Louisiana. It is not particularly impressive, but I do recommend it, and you will enjoy yourself.
