While biking through the Owl Mountains in southwestern Poland, close to the border with the Czech Republic, I rode through a small town called Burgrabice and stumbled upon this little ecotourism place called Blue House (Blaues Haus). I could have tented here for just 15 Zloty (about $5, or slightly under 4 euro), but I chose instead to stay in a little room for just 30 Zloty ($10, or about 7.5 euro). The woman who runs it speaks German fluently, but also Polish, of course. She just opened the place this past May. She's very friendly and made me feel welcome. Given the price, the place is definitely modest, yet it also has a charming, rustic atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend it! read more
