I don't know, I've tried this place three times, giving it a chance, but each time i found the food to be tasteless, bland and dull. Except for the soup. It was decent. The delivery was efficient, but geez, what a letdown! We all found the service to be exceptional, staff friendly and very accommodating to our group as a whole, as well as considerate of individual requests . Great little spot! Fresh food, friendliest and attentive waitstaff AND outdoor dining. It's a total homerun! Ordered the fresh shrimp rolls, wonton soup and dumplings to start. Tons of mint in the shrimp rolls and big chinks of ginger with every bite on the dumplings. We ordered the beef nuer and Thai papaya salad. Both were very tasty and not overly dressed. Portions are generous. The beef Nuer comes with sticky rice that is very very sticky- A++! Highly recommend, will definitely be back! read more

We sat at the bar because they were busy. We ordered two apps and two dishes. The appetizers (crab rangoon & thai dumplings) were really good and super fresh! You only get 4 pieces. I think for the price, you should at least get 5-6. No other complaints tho. They were super yummy. We waited a while for our main dishes over 45 min. They stated they were really busy. When we got it, it was really good! I was surprised bc usually pad se eew is dry but mine was not...the owner came to talk to us after and apologized for the wait & said they ran out of things bc they were super busy! She was super friendly! We would def come back and support our local restaurants!!! So glad there is a good thai restaurant near home! read more

Covid19 curbside take out. Very cautious, conscientious and efficient! They were also doing outside seating by reservation. I had the krapraw chicken. Its very good. I prefer this dish served as minced chicken rather than pieces but it was still delicious. There were a lot of vegetables too. I also had the "khanom jeeb" which are shumai shaped chicken dumplings. I have had these at other places where they come out with the chicken pinkish and undercooked. This was not the case at Blue Elephant. The chicken filling was thoroughly cooked. The dipping sauce they are served with complements them well. The Springfield area is a thai food desert for some reason with very few options. If on the east side check out Blue Elephant. read more

Well, all good things come to an end. :-( Our last/most recent visit here was very disappointing. Our absolute favorite menu item is GONE (honestly it was probably the biggest reason we made the drive here). No more CURRY PUFFS :-( Service, (while there was abundant staff) this visit was very bad. Made a reservation for party of 6. The couple people who showed up first were acknowledged promptly, given water etc. As the rest of our party continued to roll in, no one came over said hello to us, acknowledged us etc. We just kept staring and staring waiting for someone to come over and offer us waters and bring us menus. Nope-just blank stares from entire FOTH staff. I finally had to raise my hand and get someone to come over. To add to the disappointment of no curry puffs, one our dining mates has dietary restrictions. Asked if a certain dish was gluten-free and they said yes they could make it gluten-free but all they did was make the sauce gluten free and they brought out crispy duck with breading on the duck. Geez. I understand there might be a slight language barrier but when you're in the food business, the stuff is kind of important. (Also anywhere else we've gotten Crispy Duck..it's just the skin is CRISPY-no breading..so there's that too) Sadly, we will be taking a break from what used to be one of our favorite restaurants. I thought I would never get to experience this again until I had blue elephant.I am leaving this review as I enjoy my dinner because of how impressed I am .What made this experience even better was the the environment the host greats you with a smile . Enjoying dinner on a Friday night at 7:00 (usually the busiest time for many restaurants). A customer who obviously doesn't realize we are still in pandemic mode and many businesses are short staffed, felt the need to unload on a young man just trying to earn a living. My husband and I went here for dinner with another couple. We had never been here before and had a great experience for it being the first time. I ordered the curry meal and added shrimp to it with jasmine rice. Our appetizers were good as well. The specialty teas were also great, no complaints. My husband did have a pho dish but was not a fan of his meal due to the veggies, peanuts and bean sprouts it contained as he was unaware. We've been to this restaurant a couple of times previously, and we were always happy with the food and service. Unfortunately, tonight we did not have a good experience. I called several hours ahead of time to make a reservation for 4 people, and I requested a specific semi-circular table in the back on the left side. No problem! However, when the 4 of us arrived, there was already a party of 4 sitting at that table. We were taken to a different table, a smaller square table in the middle of the room. I told the waitress that I had reserved the semi-circular table, but she said "they are already sitting there." When I noticed another, larger semi-circular table on the other side of the room that was empty, I asked if we could sit there. "No," I was told. "That table is for 6." OK, so we sat down at the smaller table where she insisted we sit. We ordered soup and our entrees, and the waitress asked if we wanted all of the food to be brought out at the same time. We said "no," that we wanted the soup first and main courses afterwards. Our soup arrived at the same time, and was delicious. After we finished, two of our main courses were brought out together. We waited patiently for the other two people in our group to be served before starting to eat. After 10 minutes, our entrees were getting cold, and we asked what happened to the other 2 entrees. We were told that there was a mix-up, and that the other orders had just been placed. So the two of us who had food decided not to wait any longer, and we ate our food. The yellow curry with chicken was mediocre. Lots of sauce, very few thin slivers of chicken, and not many vegetables. Very unsatisfying. Needless to say, we were finished before the other 2 people in our party were served their main courses. The staff did not apologize or offer to give us a free dessert or to take something off the bill, which is what other restaurants have done when mix-ups have occurred. We also really appreciate the drive up take out service (you have to order ahead, of course). Not having to leave your car with a toddler in tow is absolutely priceless! This is my new favorite place for Thai food. I got drunken noodles with scallops and my boyfriend got drunken noodles with chicken. Both were very good and the best in the area!! We started off with Thai dumplings and the fresh spring rolls. Both were very good but my favorite were the dumplings. Our bill for two apps and two orders of drunken noodles was 43$. Very reasonably priced for dinner!! Portions were big and the prices were small. The waitresses were very attentive and made sure you have everything you need. The desserts also sounded good but we were too full to try them!! Keep in mind the kitchen is closed from 2:30-4:30 though, but the bar is open during that time. I cannot believe what just happened to me.. a reg customer at this restaurant. I had given a positive review previously and had so many views on it but after today and viewing other google reviews I would recommend to STAY AWAY from Blue Elephant. They violated health and price regulations and the incredibly sarcastic attitude I got for asking a question was so spiteful I'm shocked. I placed a to go order over the phone.. was super accommodating that they said they was a wait said no rush and I'd call when I got there so they could bring it out. When the lady brought out the to go order it was a full 10.00$ more than what the online menu stated. I asked if she could inquire why it was different than the online menu prices and out came the most sarcastic condescending male who I was showing the online prices to and I NICELY said.. Usually if this ever happens in the world an establishment will honor the price advertised until they manually change it and he looks me up and down laugh and says "who says?" Wow.. so I went on to say I wouldn't care if it was a few buck but this is a lot and while he's breathing all over my food in the bag sneering at me another woman comes out and says we raised our prices and didn't change the menu. Again I said well I wouldn't have ordered so much and you could have informed me which you didn't and they all sneered at me. I then felt awful and said I'm a regular here but I'm Not paying an extra $10.00 that's not expected and the guy laughs and goes "see ya" really sarcastic. I lived in Manhattan for a long time and this even has the attitude beat in that city. I just can't believe they would talk to a customer who drove 20 min, is a regular this way and you KNOW they are going to resell that food after breathing all over it. read more

It's been a long time since I went for a meal and had ZERO complaints. That changed today! From the moment I walked into Blue Elephant I enjoyed my experience. The restaurant was clean, bright and each table had fresh flowers. YES, Fresh! The staff were beyond friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We started off with Thai tea and it was a perfect way to start off the lunch. For our appetizer we ordered The Sampler so we could try a little of everything - Crispy Spring roll (2), Chicken Satay(2), Thai Crab Rangoon(2), Vegetable Dumplings (2) served with house sauce. It was gone within 5 minutes! Everything was hot, fresh, crispy and the presentation was beautiful. I typically don't like crab rangoon, Blue Elephant's was AMAZING. For my meal, I got the Drunken Noodles with chicken. The noodles were delicate and light, vegetables were cooked perfectly and still had crunch to them, I love spicy food and this was the perfect amount of heat. If you want to make it spicier you have the opportunity to tell the waitress prior to the meal or they have a tray with oil and chili flakes that can be added once you have your meal. Portion size was reasonable for the price & honestly I would pay more for the quality of food I received. I can't say enough about this restaurant and I'm so happy that it's close by because I will definitely be frequenting here!!! read more

Really, surprisingly delicious! My family had ordered from this establishment before, and the appetizers had not been as good. We chose the yum yum soup (always a hit), crispy spring rolls, wonton soup and crab rangoons. Everything was YUM YUM! Curbside pickup was efficient and fast, and the young man who brought out our order was a superstar; he insisted on helping the sweet, friendly woman who originally was bringing out our bags, since it was cold and damp -what a gentleman! AND, the food was still piping hot when we arrived home, individually, prettily packaged, and ACURATE!!! We will continue to choose Blue Elephant when we would like Thai chow! read more

I'd have given them 5 stars if there weren't glitches in the service. This is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants we've been to. We are giving the benefit of the doubt on service because they are only a few weeks old. The food was outstanding and the wait staff were wonderful. We understood the issue was with the kitchen as they had troublturning out dishes in a coordinated and timely manner. We were brought a plate of crab rangoons on the house for our wait. We will definite go back and I hope to be able to upgrade this to 5 stars! UPDATE: Ate here last night and I'm upping the review to 5 stars!
