I have a metal allergy, I can't be having junk in my body! High quality jewelry... you get what you pay for. This ain't no $25 at Claire's! Aftercare, downsizing, jewelry upgrades, etc. This is an investment and even though I live in TX now, I made sure I came back to Belle for my helix. I'd been procrastinating for a while because I'm not an unnecessary pain kinda girl BUT I love all kinds of ear piercings. The reality is, the inspo pic had a chain attachment and I can't wear that on a new unhealed piercing so I got something I think is really beautiful for the location while I wait to downsize and eventually upgrade and at some point on my healing journey I'll get the other ear. Belle is amazing. She explains everything from start to finish, even the wait time so the jewelry can go into the autoclave. We chatted the whole time and when it was time I took some deep breaths and yea it hurt but it wasn't that bad and it was quick. Nothing enough to make my head tense, create tears or make a sound. The pressure wasn't bad and there was a light burning sensation for about 30 minutes but more just noticeable and not a bother. She gave me extensive after care instructions and captured some great photos and I was on my way. In the car I took some turmeric capsules to help with inflammation and about one hour before my appointment I took some CBD. Thank you Belle, you are the goat. I'm sure I'll be seeing you soon. This place hasn't changed a bit and I mean that in the best way.

Don't be deterred by the rundown looking building. Inside everything was clean and sanitary. Nina was sorting earring when I walked in, and was quick to help. She gave me a lot of great ideas and suggestions, and once I narrowed it down, took me into the back room to do the earring changes. She was meticulous with cleaning my ears and new earrings, regularly swapping gloves in between procedures. I loved that she kept up a steady chatter of great information about how to heal and take care of the piercings, which also served as a good distraction. She even took an existing piercing out and cleaned it, just so it would sparkle again. I wasn't ready for new piercings at this time, but I will 100% come back to have Nina do any future piercings.

Third piercing this year, and I'm feeling a bit like Goldilocks: first place I went was way too…read moreexpensive, but with a great selection, second place was cheap, but no selection, so after looking at Studs' offerings online, it looked like their pricing was reasonable, with a decent selection, and I decided to give them a go. They are located in the shops that are behind Bar Taco, in Hyde Park Village. I made reservations online the same day I wanted to go; not required, but recommended. Showed up early so I could look over the jewelry and make decisions. The counter people up front were friendly and helpful. I wanted to be pierced with Titanium jewelry, and those pieces ranged from $35 to $65. 14K gold earrings were also available at a higher price. My piercer was very friendly and warm. The room was sterile, and I love that she was meticulous about washing her hands and putting on fresh gloves anytime she was in-between steps. They have clips to hold your hair back, and stress balls to squeeze, both of which I thought were nice touches. After confirmation of placement, the piercings were quick and as painless as possible. I did get the impression that my piercer was a bit inexperienced, but I am still happy with the final outcome. One final note - parking in Hyde Park on a Friday afternoon was horrendous, so if you have the ability, try and go at an 'off' time to find easier parking.

I got a lip piercing (snakebites) done two months ago and have had nothing but complications. The…read morejewelry they started me with was large hoops, which is a big red flag since they cause more irritation to a new piercing and you're generally not supposed to start with them, but I didn't know that at the time and I trusted my piercer to know what to do. After a month they told me I could switch to smaller hoops, and that switching would cause my irritation bump to go away. Again, you're generally not supposed to switch jewelry until the piercing is fully healed, but I was just excited to have the giant hoops out of my mouth. A week after switching I had to go to urgent care because contrary to what I was told, the smaller hoops did not fix my irritation bumps; instead, the switch irritated my piercing and caused it to embed on one side and reject on the other. After the medication I took fixed it, a different piercer from this store recommended I switch to studs (which I should have had from the beginning). Once I switched I had to come back the same day because one of the ends fell out and they had to reattach it, and now three days later while eating one of the labrets completely fell out. Honestly I am relieved that it did so I can take out the other one and be done with this piercing. I'm very disappointed because I was so excited to get snakebites, but I wish I had thrown my money away instead of spending it on a piercing that would cause me so much trouble. The only thing that made me not want to write a review was how much I liked both of the piercers that I met, but I felt like that wasn't enough to keep me from sharing the experience that I had.
