OK at lunchtime for a quick snack, but more a young people's pub in the evenings.

We were visiting the Cotswald and trying to find a pub. We drove from Birbury and stopped here…read more After getting table, we all hit the bathrooms and table of friendly local gentlemen stopped me and we talked. They wanted to know how we ended up at this place, as they seemed kind of surprised that tourists would eat there. This is probably the most "authentic English pub" we will have been in during this trip. We tried some in London, which were great and authentic, though one turned out to be "gastropub" ... a much different experience. But The Baytree was basically filled only with locals. There was a town meeting happening behind our table. There was a woman's dart league event in the other room. There were kids with soccer balls and dogs coming in out of the building. The food was decent, nothing super special and there were missing items on the menu (not a big deal). There was a Beyond Burger on menu, which kind of shocked me. The pub is split into two areas, one side is more…read morefamily oriented and has bigger tables and people tend to go there to eat with their families. The other side has more of a sports bar vibe, you will be able to watch Football, Cricket and Rugby and enjoy some banter with the locals. Always drink specials and the food is surprisingly good and excellent value. Highly recommended.
