The next day, I had to call and ask whether the flowers had even been delivered, because my mom never texted me to thank me for them. That's when it hit me: she spent the entire day thinking I had forgotten her. Not because I forgot. Because this florist was completely disorganized. What made it even worse was the response when I called. There was no accountability. No urgency. Not even a genuine apology.
