Very very large, maybe 20 acres... The best part is that it is totally free. Some of the other dog parks require an annual pass or pay each time (like Dakota Woods Dog park in Rosemount) Now this place is a lot of openness/ field with random chairs scattered around. Obviously it is completely fenced in with some trees, high and low grass and a pond with trails. Here they have a separate fenced area for ball throwing, I believe. Nice people i ran into also. One of the largest dog park I have ever been to hands down(25 acres?). Plenty of room for your dog(s) to run - TRUELY run. You can walk around their trail. There is even a pond for your dog if he/she likes to swim...mine doesn't. There seems to be plenty of dogs and owners alike there whenever time of day it is(does these people have a job?). Hence there are of dogs for your dog to mingle and do what they do(sniffing weird places, jumping up and down on top of each other). I always fascinated by number of different dog types, sizes, and species here. There are park benches to sit if you just want to sit back and enjoy the sunshine and/or watch your pet going crazy on the freedom to run without a lease. There is even a private yard area if you want your dog to run privately and/or have a private trainer come along to train your dog. There is plenty of bags to pick up after your pets as well. Some owners even leave free tennis balls and milk jugs for your pets to take home - didn't know dogs like to play with milk jugs... A very fun place for your dog - you will not be disappointed - must see to appreciate, especially your pets. read more

Best dog park ever! Huge area for your dogs to run around and a pond for them to swim in. My lab loved the pond and played ball while my heeler mix had fun chasing the dogs. The pet owners were friendly and I particularly appreciated the dog fountain. Being new to MN, I was surprised to see that other dog parks here don't have water supplied especially with some of the permit fees. My dogs had a blast. It was hard to get them to leave! My only word of caution was that on the far right side where the gate is locked together, there is a gap so it is possible that a small dog and maybe medium size could escape if they saw something out there to chase. Also in the pond there is a drainage pipe to be aware of when throwing a ball for your dog to retrieve. Otherwise great place! read more

Really nice dog park and bear large with small pond. About the size of four football fields has to be one of the bigger ones I have been to. Has a small dog and big dog area. Bathroom, water fountain, poop bags and lots of places to sit down. Also a wood chip trail so you don't have to get muddy feet. read more

Great park. Lots of room to roam around for dogs and people! A fun little swamp if your dog likes to swim (but you'll have to give them a bath after because the water stinks!) But just a side note to small dog owners, please stick to the small dog area. Some idiot kicked my dog multiple times because she was trying to play with his dogs, because that's the point of a dog park haha. My dog was not being malicious at all, her tail was wagging and being super submissive. She is the sweetest dog, loves small dogs and would never hurt one. So it's sad I have to say this but if you don't want your small dogs to play with the big dogs, there is a small dog area on the side. read more

One of the best dog parks in the Minneapolis area. Why? Completely fenced in, 25 acres of open and wooded landscape with a large pond that is fun for the dogs in all seasons. We have been to almost every dog park in a 30 mile radius of Bloomington and this is possibly the largest and most open of all of them. If you want a place where your can dog can truly run around and meet a lot of other great dog owners then I recommend you check it out. The only other park that has come close and our second favorite is the minnewashta dog park which is completely wooded and fun to navigate. Also fully fenced in. read more

Wow!!!!!!!!!! My service dog and I travel over hundred thousand miles a year we have been to parks all over the country and internationally and this is by far the best park we have ever been to!!!!!!! To start, it's huge!!!!! At least 10 acres. All grass and there's a path that goes around the entire thing so bring your running shoes and you can exercise too. There's a pond with a dirt access for the dogs in a bench for you to watch. It gets a little muddy when the dogs are playing in the water but don't fear there's a hose to rinse them off before you get back in the car or go back to the Hilton in our case. Bring bug spray in the summer it is after all Minnesota. And make sure you take poop bag before you head off on the trail because it's a long walk back. read more

My dog loves coming here! It's a big open field to run and sniff other dogs. The water fountain is a very nice amenity, because I always forget to bring water. My only complaint is that the pond gets rather swampy in late summer and the beach is always muddy. I have a chocolate lab and it's almost impossible to keep her out of the water. Perhaps the city could bring in some beach sand to solve the mud problem? read more

Seriously great dog park - it's huge and fenced in nicely. Big water area with some pools for when it's warm out. Picnic tables are spread out for owners to sit - it would be nice if there were some more shade but we go in the evenings when the sun is lower in the sky. I visited this dog park for the first time today. I had been at two others in Eden Prairie that had a lot of ice, making it hard to walk around. Someone there suggested I check out Bloomington. I was there with my dog for about 90 minutes, and met such wonderful, friendly people and there were so many well behaved dogs. I loved walking on the wood chips that had recently been put down on the trail. I will make this a regular part of our weekend outings. I can't walk to see it in the spring when the pond is open to the pups for swimming. I also liked the poop bags available and the water fountains. It was nice to have a porta-potty on site also. Huge open space for dogs and people to walk the trails, always very nice. I will say though, this park feels like it's made for bigger dogs more so than small dogs. There is a separate fenced in area that I'm guessing is for small dogs, but there's no signage so people don't follow it. I have a 10lb chihuahua who thinks he can hang with the big 50lb dogs but he can't, so finding a safe space for him to run around is challenging. I do love that big separate space, but I would love it more if it was the official small dog space with signs :) read more

There's enough parking space which is great. The park is fenced all around to ensure no dogs run away. The few times I went, the park was incredibly muddy and there were only a few dogs. The 2-3 owners there didn't interact with each other and just walked their dogs around the park and didn't really let them interact with the other dogs. It was a bit impersonal for me. There were a few benches but none in the small dog area that I stayed in. There was a shallow puddle/pond that stretched across the majority of the small dog area, and nothing to keep the dogs from splashing in the mud. I also didn't see any extra water dishes, water supply, or plastic bags, which would be a nice addition. Overall an average park but nothing spectacular. read more

I have gone to this dog park for 24months, usually daily. I have a 2.5 yr old yellow lab mix. He loves to run very fast here. There are many dogs depending on the time of day. We have found our tribe; other dogs who were about 4-6 months old when they met. They still chase and chew and show off their balls or sticks. I bring my used tennis balls. There are always some balls somewhere. My dog is a hunter so he has found fish, birds, mice, snake, voles and rabbits there. During the cold windy winter days, we stay on the pond and in the woods to the east of the pond to stay out of the wind. With many people supporting this park, we have gotten three new street lights near the parking area and a water fountain complete with hose to wash off the dogs. Of course in the winter this is turned off. Happy trails! read more
