Rebecca's facials are the most decadent experience that I've ever had with an esthetician. I've struggled with acne for about 15 years and she wanted to know every detail about my skin and what I use on it. I've never had any other dermatologist or esthetician ask that thorough of questions before a facial before. She then wraps you in soft, warm blankets and creates a serene space to truly be pampered. My skin has NEVER looked better. She is so knowledgeable and has helped me revamp my skin care routine. I've never had someone take so much time and energy to walk me through how to use which products and when depending on how my skin is feeling. She is so kind and gentle the whole time she's explaining and is always patient with my questions. She's got me for life! I wouldn't trust anyone else to pamper and care for my skin than her. read more

I purchased a 3 massage package and was very impressed with the quality of the service I received. Becky is very talented and I got a superb 50 min massage! She started and ended right on time and was pleasant and courteous. She really worked out the knots in my shoulders and I felt great afterwards. Prior to the massage, I had emailed her with a question regarding the package deal I had purchased and she responded to me the same day. I also love that I can book easily online and that her offices are conveniently located downtown. read more

I fond Becky on Yelp, so I want to pay it forward. Being with her was one of the most rewarding facial experiences I've ever had, and I've had some good ones. Her commitment to healing the underlying issues that cause skin problems is clear. She's knowledgable, passionate, skilled, and caring. I will definitely be back. read more

Just got an amazing massage and facial from here this past week. My skin has never looked this good. I'm always suspect of people selling their own products but the stuff I was given works so well I bought it right away. My skin is really dry and sensitive, I have eczema and have been diagnosed since I was a baby. But now it is feeling significantly smoother and looks more clear and less puffy. I've never been to a dermatologist or anything, so this was my first foray into facials. I was happy about the fact that it's all plant based and organic, because hearing words like "chemical peel" makes me want to run in the opposite direction. I recommend meeting with Rebecca to run through her suggestions before just getting a facial. read more

Becky is exceptional. I have had the good fortune to work with her intensively over the past couple of months to facilitate the healing process after a facial injury. I credit her lymphatic drainage massage with helping my face recover to a point I could not have imagined possible. In the process, she has introduced me to the Laurel Plant Organics line of products, which in addition to her treatments has my skin looking better than ever. Becky is a warm and immensely talented human being, and I can not recommend her services highly enough. read more

I've always gone to Benefit Cosmetic's Brow Bar to get my brows threaded or waxed. I decided I wanted to start using small local businesses and found Becky's through Yelp and since I live down the street, set up an appointment. Becky was attentive and provided so much care to my brows that I'd never experienced at Benefit. She really took her time and I wasn't just another number in the day. She let me have an opinion on whether to grab a couple last hairs and I really appreciated that she consulted me before just yanking them out, as it made a huge difference in the way my brow looked! I appreciate that she uses holistic methods and I'm looking to the next appointment! read more

This review is for a facial. Becky is great! I have been to her multiple times, first when she was on Market St in San Francisco and also when she moved to her Oakland location. She helped my skin a lot and by following her suggestions on what to use on my skin it looks so much better. Overall the facial is very relaxing except for the extractions-I have a love/hate relationship with them :) I know she is getting everything out of my skin and I love knowing my skin really is clean and pure when I leave but man sometimes it does hurt! Paid is beauty though! I recommended her to my roommate who saw her a few times as well and has more problem skin than me. She loved Becky as well and after only a few facials her face started to look much better. Its been about a year since I've been, its harder for me to get to Oakland but I will definitely be back again. read more

Wow. Wow. Wow. All I can say is Becky is amazing. I got a massage from her the other day and I couldn't believe how well she was able to connect and give the best intuitive massage. She used the perfect amount of pressure and she worked areas that I hadn't even told her hurt! It is very rare for me to be able to completely shut off my mind and relax while getting massage, but I was able to with Becky. I am so appreciative to the incredible work she provided and I am so excited to book another session with her! read more

Becky has changed my life. I have been dealing with chronic hip pain for over a year and avoided massage therapists like the plague, since I didn't want them to go anywhere near my hip and possibly make it worse. After I talked to Becky, she seemed so thoughtful about what would and wouldn't work and didn't seem to shy away form a challenge. She did deep tissue work on me and I didn't even flinch or grimace! She knows how to warm up the muscles so they don't freak out and instead release tension. I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat, and have, especially those I know with chronic pain. read more

After reading other reviews here, I would probably agree with everything that disgruntled customers have said: upon greeting, Becky is not super friendly, she is difficult to pin down for a date, and the reservation website sucks. And you know what? Suck it up buttercup. You need the princess treatment? Go to Burke Williams. I really like Becky. She isn't fake, and she gives fantastic service. Plus, she warms up a lot after she works on you. I've had two facials, one massage, just bought another massage as a birthday present, and cannot wait for another one myself. I was suffering from a pulled back muscle when I booked the massage; she both put me to sleep and saved my life. I was up and moving the next day and feeling phenomenal. The facial was thorough. Enough said. She listens to your concerns or requests, has good advice, and carries really amazing products. Super convenient location, plenty of parking/transit. If you bought a deal, don't forget to bring cash tip. read more

So I went there for massage, beggining of which I liked, then... I fell asleep, unfornunately(( Anyway, I'd say massage was good. Not so long after that, I received some deals om my email for like 50% off some services. I was interested in facial. I went online to book one and got distracted by something. The next day, there was already no that very same facial that I liked, so I tried to call her to ask if it's still available or what happened... then, I sent a text, then email... and, guess what, no answer to any of those... customer service? If you can't handle the volume yourself, don't send those promotions! Or hire some help. I ,personally, DO NOT like to be ignored and will not be considering her services again. read more

I had the "farm to face" facial last week and was very happy with the results. Becky is very skilled and gave me really good advice about how to keep my skin in better shape going forward. I enjoyed my facial very much. It was comfortable, relaxing, and cozy. The line of organic products she carries is amazing. read more

Rebecca Matrice is THE BOMB! I would never have imagined feeling so good after a facial. And then I saw Rebecca... #1: Being on her table is beyond anything you could imagine. I have had many facials, but when I met Rebecca, I knew this would be different. She cares for your skin and for you in a way that is beyond what I can describe. You will feel like a million bucks after a treatment with her. #2: My skin: I am no longer breaking out and my skin is radiant! She not only uses all natural products, but she teaches you how to best take care of your skin. If you have any challenges, she will educate you and get you on the right track. 3: Her spa: Bloom Healing Botanical Spa is so peaceful! I love walking in there! I feel at ease just being in the spa and getting a warm hello from Rebecca and her assistant. Not to mention there is free parking... in Oakland! When you are already moving too fast and have too many things to do, this alone is a big big bonus. I just wish I could go more often! Her schedule is full, so plan ahead. It is definitely worth it! read more

For years I have longed to find an esthetician who uses organic, natural, skin care products. Every time I had a facial done with products I knew had chemicals in them I felt like I was committing a crime against my skin. Until I found Becky. Not only are the products she uses pure but the way she nurtures my skin and make me feel so completely cared for, is a dream come true. I am a business owner, mother, wife and philanthropist. In short, the classic type A kind of gal and sometimes think I am the general manager of the Universe but when I am in Becky's studio I can completely let go and surrender into her capable and caring hands. This resources me and fills my own well so I am more centered in myself. The results have been so wonderful for me that now my teenage son is being treated for acne and the lymphatic massage along with the products Becky uses on his skin is clearing up (along with his mood!) read more

Becky's little place is in the cute indoor winding aesthetics "alley" tucked away inside a building on Market. This area itself is worth checking out for the array of quaint little solopreneur businesses sprouting inside (salons, facial care, massages, etc.) Becky is very down-to-earth and approachable, and I felt comfortable telling her my "demands" and "requests" without feeling any bit intimidated, which led to a fulfilling massage sessions. She was also very capable of fulfilling these said demands & requests. Her place is small and cozy, but did not feel stifling or claustrophic. USEFUL INFO: She frequently shows up on livingsocial & other deal sites like those (in fact, she has a special on Yelp right now), so definitely catch her on those deals, although I wouldn't mind paying full price to have her service! read more

Becky is simply the best. I've seen Becky several time for moderate acne, and her care and knowledge have blown me away. I've long used organic products, but the Laurel line is exceptional. I feel like I have a new face! Becky has taught me far more about my skin than any dermatologist I've ever seen. She explained how environmental and other factors effect my face (which, I learned, extends all the way to my chest). I felt so cared for and able to relax into Becky's hands. Getting a facial from Becky is now the highlight of my month. I'm also a personal organizer, and I LOVE Becky's space. It's stylish and relaxing. Thank you Becky! read more

Sweet Baby Jesus. Best facial ever. I've had a lot of facials. One time I went to a fancy pants, self-important skin care spot where I treated myself to this ridiculously over priced and luxurious facial. It was pretty cool. However, I had no idea what was missing until I met Becky. Becky knows skin. Becky is the real deal. Her assessment of my skin and the recommendations she made were thorough, thoughtful and genuinely caring. As a long time massage therapist, she also has a great quality of touch. I'm a big fan. Can't wait to try her massage and see her for another facial! read more

Rebecca takes the time to talk to you and find out what your needs are. I've been twice and both times my massage has been very relaxing. The first visit I had hurt my back and had been in pain for days. After and hour I had my first moments of being pain free and it was amazing. I immediately rebooked. I also received a facial and I liked that she uses natural products. My skin felt so soft afterwards. I would highly recommend visiting her. It doesn't hurt that it's in a beautiful setting. You can enjoy a nice walk in the woods after. read more

I saw Becky through a series of massage appointments then between scheduling conflicts, moving, travel and work I've only been able to pick up a massage here and there (usually while traveling). I have yet to find anyone as proficient as Becky. With an intuitive touch she is easily able to find those trouble areas without direction. I've been impatiently waiting to see her again. read more

Becky is wonderful! She offers a great variety of services and is the most thorough therapist you could ask for. She is super attentive to all your needs (temperature, pressure) and you walk away feeling like a new person. If you've never had a real massage before or are looking for a new therapist, look no further! Oh and Becky's hands should probably be insured for a million bucks :-) read more

Maybe it's because she's had more practice, maybe because my skin is just getting better in general, but that last facial I had with her was AMAHZING. First off, I missed my first appointment because my brain said that it was 4:30 when it was really 4:00...so I showed up a half hour late and she couldn't take me anymore since she had another client at 5:00. BUT, she squeezed me in the very next day. And I told her I was nervous since my company holiday party was that night...but she made sure I wasn't red as a tomato, and afterward, my skin felt super smooth. Of course, no pain no gain, and those extractions were for sure painful. Love her! And, if you buy a loot deal, she has a special offer for you to buy a package of facials at the loot price. That's awesome. read more

Caity is the best thing that's happened to me in 2019! Moving from Canada to the US, then from one coast to another all in 8 months, my body was literally a ball of stress and knots. Caity has been able to thoroughly and effectively treat all my problem areas, and she's the first massage therapist I've had that is so strong and soft at the same time. If you are looking for strength and targeted technique, Caity is for you! Her motions and technique not only relax you but your body continues to feel the benefits of her massage days later. She is passionate about her work and is super kind! read more

Becky is a Master when it comes to her work. She really pays attention to your body and what you're looking for. I was looking for a massage therapist and found her services on Lifebooker. She does a therapeutic massage arms and hands rolling over and through your back. She does it to the tune of the music. The second time I peaked at her playlist and saw it was Deuter - Illumination of the Heart. I have been looking for a massage therapist who is equivalent to those in Asia and I haven't found one who surpasses until now. The best massage I've ever had. She definitely takes her time. Go to her when you need a release of your toxins, she's amazing! 5 Stars for Becky. read more

Simply the BEST facial I have ever had in my life. I met Rebecca 5 years ago at an advanced Holistic Esthetician training (full disclosure, I am a 23 year licensed esthetician). We had an instant connection. I enjoyed my first transformational facial with her shortly after that and I have been dreaming of getting my next one ever since. Fast forward to today and I found myself happily driving nearly two hours to have a facial with Rebecca at her new location in Arnold. As a business owner and busy mom/wife it is vital to me to maintain my wellness by receiving skilled and nurturing touch. The experience I had under her care was absolutely transcendent. I enjoyed a therapeutic infared sauna session to begin. I climbed into the most amazing soft facial bed and then the magic started. The minute her hands touched my face, I felt a sense of calm and peace wash over me. Rebecca is completely in her zone of genius as a therapist. I cannot recommend her more highly! read more

Whoa I just got one of the best massages of my life. Thank you, Becky, for not allowing me to feel like crap anymore. It had been more than a year since my last massage so this was truly needed. The online booking system is great and easy. If you like firm and attentive massages that get your ow spots taken care of see Becky. She has a quiet table-side manner and makes you feel cared for. I did not think her to be unfriendly at all, as some reviewers say - a great listener and helper. She gave tips and some feedback as to what to look out for to avoid the hurt I was feeling. I just came back home and noticed how it didn't hurt to go up the stairs anymore. I am nearly in tears writing this out of pure relief. read more

I went to Becky for a facial and it was great. I have a background in skin care and this was definitely one of the best I have had. She utilized the information that I gave her about my skin issues and helped me to create a better regimen than what I was doing. My skin is much happier. read more

I love Rebecca and when she say's "I've got you!" ~ she means it! She is the best esthetician I have ever seen, because she really cares and treats YOU, its not just a routine. Her care is beyond loving and healing. After one holistic facial with her, I told myself I would make this part of my self-care routine and treat myself to her care regularly. I feel so good when I leave her spa, it makes me want to dance. I can't recommend her enough ~ she will not let you OR your SKIN down, her knowledge is deep and her care extraordinary!! It a splurge that is well worth the time and money. read more

Becky has great prices there is no denying that. But she's not the nicest and I wouldn't recommend her because of that. For my first appointment, I was running late because of work and called her to say I was running 5-10 mins behind. I hailed a cab from work and got there as soon as I could. From the start, I felt that she almost held a grudge against me because of that. I could tell from the entire facial she wasn't super happy that I was late by her cold mannerism. Since I bought 2 groupon-type deals online, I still had one more to go. I scheduled another appointment with her through her online tool for maybe 3 weeks later. I then wanted to cancel the appointment and reschedule, and for some weird malfunction of the site (it showed me that I didn't even book the appointment to begin with!). I didn't think twice, but got a very angry call the day of the appointment (I thought it was already cancelled), with Becky clearly upset saying why I wasn't at my appointment. I apologized sincerely and explained the situation (we realized it was a malfunction of the site). I made a new appointment and saw her, and received a very cold, impersonal treatment. The facial was fine, but the company was not. All I'm saying is, I felt like this treatment was very unprofessional. I think Becky does a good facial and the price is great and I was willing to see her again, but after I felt like she was holding an angry grudge against me, there was no way I was going back. I also accidentally left my Tiffany's necklace in her office and emailed her to see it anyone picked it up. I knew deep down there was probably no hope of getting it back because I got the impression Becky wouldn't ever go out of her way to return it. Sure enough, I got an email saying she couldn't find it. If you're looking for a kind, professional, good experience, don't go here. If you're looking for a cheap facial from someone who can get it done and do a decent job, it's fine but don't expect amazing, kind service. read more

Best massage in 2014. I have 9 massages this year so far and this by far kicked ass. I actually had no idea 50 mins had passed the massage was grrreat. So great that I fell asleep and stayed asleep while she waxed my eyebrows. Yup I sure did the time I actually woke up was during the extractions...yoozas that hurt. Overall this was a great experience and I can't wait to return!!!! Best beginning to CNY and BHM ever!!! read more

I went to Becky for a massage today and it was amazing! I have been in so much pain these last couple of days and she really concentrated on helping me with the problem areas, specifically neck and shoulders. I also suffer from TMJ and she totally understood where I was coming from, as she has suffered from TMJ too. I have gotten plenty of massages, and this one was the best. Happy to of found her! read more

Every year for my birthday I treat myself to a massage. I happened to find a deal from either Groupon, living social or Amazon deals, can't quite remember. I got an hour long massage for only $29 or $39 bucks...Great right!!!! The atmosphere was kind of strange as the room is like in a closet sized area of a beauty supply store. The masseuse was awesome though. Once you get over the slight noise from the beauty supply you can enjoy the great work o Becky. Very relaxing. read more

I have been going to Becky for about a year now and my skin is sooo much better! I love Becky's skin and body care. Her facials are amazing - you come out so relaxed and feeling like you are floating. The products that she sells completely changed my complexion. She is very knowledgeable and can educate you about your skin and body health in a very wholistic way, without being pushy or preachy. I would go every week if I could afford it! read more

I have been getting massages from Becky for about a year. I have always found her to be polite and friendly. I have never had any problems with booking an appointment thru her online booking service. read more

This review is for the amazing facial Becky gave me. I have to say her treatment room is very warm and inviting. She asked me what concerns I had with my skin; she then came up with a plan to address them. She answered all my questions about products and what procedures she was going to do to my skin. I left with glowing skin and products to keep my skin healthy. Can't wait to get another one! Thank you! read more

I discovered Becky over 6 months ago through a Lifebooker deal, and boy was she a gem of a find. Seriously the best facials I've ever had, extractions like a pro, and great recommendations on how to treat your skin between visits. I changed my skincare line to Dermalogica (the brand she carries) and it's been great. She never even asked me once to buy the products from her. I actually asked her and she didn't even carry the specific products I wanted, so no sales pitching at all. Much appreciated. She recently moved from downtown SF to Oakland, which sucks for me, but I do plan on making the trek over to see her -- because she's worth it. Cannot recommend her highly enough. read more
