You will find some of the best deals on a wide variety of plants for your home garden. There are so many plants that you can spend hours browsing and choosing the right perennials and annuals for your home. Block's also sells vegetables, locally made dairy products, and baked goods. It gets so crowded that it can be hard to find a place to park. I recommend coming on a weekday if you can to avoid even more crowds on the weekend.

A really beautiful flower we purchased from Block's.

What an amazing place to shop! They have all kinds of fruits, veggies, flowers, breads, canned items, Better Made items, candies, apple cider, and more. The prices and quality are amazing, and we will definitely shop there again!

Blocks is the place to go for your planting needs- cheaper than the rest! The parking and crowds may deter you, but the prices shall entice: almost half of what the competitors are tagging their flats. They come a little smaller, so get them in their homes asap. I spend 1/3 the price going to Blocks!

In todays hyper inflated crazy prices this business is an INCREDIBLE value if you are into all things gardening and landscaping. The selection of plants, flowers and tree's at this family run business are well taken care of where everything they sell is green and alive unlike many of the discount retailers in the area where their plants are under watered and half dead. None of that here where you can rest assured you are getting heathy stock that you can confidently replant in your yard and it will survive. I came here originally based on strong recommendations from several friends who are huge fans of this business and come back years after year for their gardening needs. The quality of the stock and prices are main drivers for their loyalty with flats of plants (12 plants) running $8.99 each where you can mix and match the flats with different plants. I have gotten all my gardening needs taken care here, to include my tomatoes, peppers, cukes, squash and herbs for a grand total of $27. Thats what I would have spent for like 5 plants at English garden which is where I use to shop. This value equation along with their quality stock has made a fan of me as well where all my future garden shopping will be here as I now count myself as one of their many loyal customers. Five stars ++

I love shopping at Block's; it's neat, organized and has great selections of fruit, vegetables, bread, dairy, snacks and pantry items.

Block's reminds me of how Eastern Market used to be before all of the gluten-free hipsters and "gourmet" peddlers.

That was amazing to me, what do you mean they come back every year? LOL That was many years ago and I'm happy to say that both of my flower beds are now filled with wonderful annuals and perennials every doing e. And the majority of them have come from here. Why? Their prices are fair, their quality is excellent, they have a huge variety and their staff are super friendly. There are greenhouses much closer to where I live but Schwartz's is worth the extra drive!

And it's not that that it's anything particularly unique (although some of those supertunia's are REALLY cool looking), they just happen to carry a lot more stock of other annuals outside of begonias and petunias. I went to a couple of shops before going to Schwartz's and I found things I hadn't elsewhere including flats of a variety of zinnias, marigolds, TONS of dahlias this time around (both large plants and smaller), a few varieties of alyssum and lantana for my pollinators, snap dragons, etc. Oh and SO many different types of tomatoes in both smaller starter sizes and more established plants. Prices have crept up over the years like most places but they're still mid-range. Meaning they're not the cheapest in the area but still more affordable than a lot of competitors/big box stores and the quality and selection is top notch. Staff is also really lovely and helpful (pointing me in the direction of the herbs when I couldn't find them) and I'm still amazed how they can check out these massive carts of flowers and flats so effortlessly. I would go nuts trying to make sense of it all. It's truly a gift and they're all great at what they do.

I came prepared with photos and a clear idea of what I wanted, and my husband and I had already set a $100-150 budget for the prom flowers. Unfortunately, the floral designer was dismissive from the start. When I explained that I wanted a corsage to complement a bright pink dress , something white with light pink. She immediately wrote down "white rose corsage w/ silver" without letting me finish or discuss options. She rushed ahead to the bouquet before I could clarify anything. Hoping to circle back to the corsage once she seen the bouquet inspiration photos I had so both would coordinate. When I showed her the reference photo, she responded, "That has lilies. I am NOT ordering them for this." Each time I tried to speak, she cut me off or talked over me. When I reiterated that I wanted something similar to the photo, she put her pen down, looked at me, and said, "You don't want that. You know that bouquet is over $50 alone," in a tone that felt unnecessarily condescending. Instead of asking out budget she just talked down to us and insulted us. Within just a few minutes, she refused to consider the flowers I requested, dismissed my preferences, and made comments that came across as rude and judgmental. I ultimately walked out mid‑conversation because it was clear she had no interest in working with me. Instead of insulting someone about the cost of a bouquet, perhaps ask their budget next time. As I walked out she told my husband "most people don't want to pay that" justifying what she assumed was expensive for us. We then left and went a few blocks down the street and easily ordered the corsage, bouquet, fifteen centerpieces, and two display arrangements for the graduation party with no issues at all. Westland Florist lost out on several hundred dollars in business due to this designer's unprofessional and condescending behavior. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location for anyone looking to order custom floral arrangements. If you want basic grocery store looking pre made arrangements you'll be fine, but I think there may be limitations from what this designer can actually do When you want customized items.
