It is a very modern well designed and great looking museum. It is noticeable when you are inside, from the outside is a pretty nice building which completely hide himself between the higher road and the lower park. It can get easily crowded. The bar/restaurant is big and nice... nothing spectacular but always a good stop in between shows or to end up your viewing experience. Part of the Museum Card network (for most of the shows). I was there for the Keith Haring show, a very loved artist in Rotterdam. All very good.

Who's everyone's favorite spy? Could it be James Bond a.k.a 007? Duh!! The Kunsthal has an expo on…read moreher majesty's favorite spy. It looks great! The first thing you see is the famous orange bikini from that equally famous scene. And smack dab in the middle of the auditorium there is the iconic Asthon Martin. The original James Bond, Sean Connory next to it in full life size glory. The expo consist of clips from favorite/ famous scenes, a lot of iconic props and costumes. There is a room soley dedicated to the casino scene's throughout the Bond movies. A life size casino table fills the room with manikins of the actors around it. There's also een fairly big replica of the ice hotel in one of the rooms. And check this out, the revolving round bed with the gold sprayed girl form 'Goldfinger" is also in the expo. Must sound very nice to a lot of male ears!! There is so much to see, enough to fill 1 or 1.5 hours. You can also look at Ian Flemming's original books and a small history about him. My fave is the photo wall of all the different Bond actors and their fake Bond ID's. So if you want something to do in the weekend that lightens up these gloomy winter days, go to the Kunsthal. The expo is there untill february 8, 2015.

On the Westblaak there is a dark space, a place of magic and wonder. Some people call it crazy but…read moreI prefer to see it as a true picture house. Cinerama Filmtheater is the oldest running cinema in Rotterdam and has the grandeur of those days way back. Plush red velvet all over, proper popcorn and a well equipped bar. A lovely place to enjoy a few refreshments before entering that dim and sparsely lit room. A big plus is the regular events they organise with local partners. Beer&Burgers, Eye Tunes, Ladies nights and Night of Cinerama, to name but a few. The selection of movies is quite eclectic, blockbusters and art house pictures mixed with a few odd choices. Be sure to see what's on every now and then. I've also heard they host some great parties during the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Don't mention the snogging. As seen on I Know This Great Little Place in Rotterdam (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.615168828521764.1073741902.103845866320732&type=1)

My favourite thing about this movie theatre was the selection of drinks and snacks that were available. I'm used to the Pathé where the most exciting thing on offer is a bottle of Grolsch, but at Wolff they have actual spirits and wine and you can even get a glass of port to take into the movie with you! The coffee is freshly made with a real espresso machine, not a push button automaat. You also get served in real glasses that you take into the theatre with you, and the arms between the chairs a large and wooden to act as mini tables. Quite honestly, it's worth a repeat visit just for this! Otherwise it's a pretty run of the mill cinema - multiple screens, good variety of showtimes. It's an independent chain so in addition to the big commercial releases they also show much more smaller independent films.

We've had the bigger part of the International Film Festival Rotterdam and the hustle and bustle is…read morestill going! This is THE festival for something special, bizarre, odd, inspiring or......whatever. It's all in there. Unreal and wonderful at the same time. Where random strangers can turn into friends or at least good conversation buddies, just in passing. This micro-cosmos will have you buzzing with joy and excitement. Not many restrictions and a lot of freedom and adventure! What have I seen so far? Uhhhm..... a lot of movies (duh!) a whole lot of nice people, cool directors and four cute boys. Two visitors, one actor and one employee. And here I was thinking there wouldn't be any this year! Apart from movies in different kinds of catagories, there are debates, talk shows, live music by local artist or students from Codarts, lectures and exhibitions. One of those exhibitions is Destination: Europe. It's supposedly a museum in 2037 that looks back on the 'experiment' called Europe. It's a maze that shows you the history (real and made up) of Europe. Subjects are migration and borders, food and trade, finance and social questions. In 2017 Scotland is supposed to have joined the EU. Funny right? In the Q and A's actors and directors interact freely with the audiance. Most of the time you can bump into them at parties at the Doelen or the Schouwburg. Parties there are quite something. For the diehard party goers who love late, late night parties there is Hotel Centraal. Everyone ends up there at some point. As a volunteer you got it even better. Volunteer parties are great and you can watch movies for free!!! My favorite movies this year: - On the Edge - Mary is happy, Mary is happy - The Sacrement - Southcliffe - Swim little fish swim - happily ever after
