I'm a guy but needed to entertain two of my young (7 and 11) daughters for a day (April 16, 2011) and they wanted manicure. I was renting a house in Stateline and calling all over South Lake Tahoe -- most places were closed on Saturday, or at least closed during the Spring slow season. Then I found my "Bliss" just a few blocks away. They were extremely good with my kids, offering snacks and chatting with them while I escaped to their 2nd story outdoor balcony to view the mountains and read a paper. The nails looked great, not that I care. My older daughter wanted "flames" which the lady had never done before but they came out great. If you are located anywhere near the casinos in S. Lake Tahoe or anywhere in Stateline, NV, I recommend this. They are right on 207 right behind "Thai One" restaurant. So, if you are heading up to ski or down from skiing at Heavenly at Stagecoach or Bolder you'll pass right by this place and can keep the kids happy after skiing -- that's what I did. read more

Recently I had my nails done @ bliss nail salon a new edition that laura has hired named Koming! My appointment was on Sunday & I arrived a little early & the shop was nice & tidy, & I was immediately greeted by koming asking if I'd like anything to drink very nice. I then took my seat @ her station very clean her supplies were all neatly layed out & clean she asked to see the design I had in mind, I showed it to her (let me mention amazing artist my idea was plain but if you dream it she can do it-Pinterest) I needed tips because I've nubs & she used gel over them absolutely beautiful! Her professionalism was amazing it was a breath of fresh air to go into a salon & not have your business streamed across the tahoe tribune, she wasn't a gossip which I really appreciate held great conversation about real things not other people! I couldn't wait to reschedule & grab some of her business cards & hand them out to friends & strangers her vibe is so uplifting & not to mention she is extremely affordable! She guarantee her work! The gals were friendly and the place was nice but for the price I've had better mani/pedi's. It could just be the area and I'm spoiled by my local surroundings, but my mani had little bubbles and lasted less than a week and the pedi started chipping within a couple. It was also awkward to have my feet done under the table but on the gal's lap, didn't really do anything nice for my back. And while we were not in a hurry, speed was not on the list of priorities. read more

Bliss did an AMAZING job handling THIRTEEN women the day before my wedding. Everyone loved their nails, and they even provided us with breakfast snacks. I treated my bridal party to mani/pedis and we were all welcome to use the patio, bring champagne for mimosas and hang out all morning while rotating for treatments. The cost was more than reasonable, and paying for a large group was so simple. We all had such a good time - friendly staff, great location and space, and high quality services! Thank you! read more

While visiting Tahoe I needed a gel overlay fill and found Bliss. Keri did my nails with the Xtreme gel line and she did a PERFECT job. She took special care and attention to my nails and they lasted forever. I loved the outcome and she knows what she is doing. I visited Bliss Salon a few days ago while in Tahoe. My husband was snowboarding and I had a little less than nothing to do. It was freezing outside but when I got in to Bliss the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The salon was super cute. The owner did my manicure and she did a really nice job. Sure there was a lot of small talk as another reviewer complained about but wouldn't you rather that over someone who spends the whole time speaking to someone else in another language at a million miles per hour, all the while making you wonder if they are talking about you? Was here 5/31/13; enjoyed my shellac mani and basic pedi by Staci. The shop has very friendly people that you can actually hold a conversation with, which is a big plus in my book. My cuticles weren't nicked and my nails were shaped nicely, no one was pushy with up-sales, and Staci even threw in a free callus remover treatment. I also had the chance to see a couple of the hair stylist's clients' results (don't know her name but shes got short blond hair) and wow, she's terrific with color, cuts, and styling too. Made an appointment a few days in advance for a mani & pedi. 10 minutes prior to the meeting time the manicurist called and asked if i would like to reschedule because she was running 30 minutes late. I told her no and that i would make other plans. She then insisted that she would only be 20 minutes late so i continued my 30 minute drive to the salon. After arriving and sitting outside a locked door for another 15 minutes i received another call that she would be another 20 minutes or so. I went home and did my own nails. bummer! read more

Although Bliss was recommended by a friend, I had a very disappointing experience with this salon. I called ahead and made an appointment. They knew I was local and looking for a good regular pedicure. It took 3 hours start to finish for a mani-pedi. The owner and my manicurist had extended conversations about ordering supplies. The manicurist took personal calls. My feet sat in water for over an hour and a half. (She at least changed the water 3 times, so it wasn't cold). The position of the pedicure was uncomfortable (in the manicurist's lap under the manicure table). By the end, I was exhausted from all the small talk. And they only take cash, but didn't tell me ahead of time. The end result: my nails were bubbled and my heels had rough spots. I went back to pay cash and showed the owner my nails. She not only didn't apologize, but didn't offer to fix them or a discount or anything. At $60 before tip, it had me longing for the mediocre mani-pedi down the street. read more

I went to Bliss the Thursday before I got married in Lake Tahoe on a Sunday. I found the salon through yelp and it had high reviews and was located close to my venue so I gave it a try. Laura, the owner was amazing! I had a full set and a pedicure done and she did a great job. She was also a great conversationalist which is something you care about when getting your nails done.
