Cons: My divorce took nearly 2 years. 5k retainer. 500 a month and child support kept fluctuation. state kept taking back when they weren't supposed to. I agreed to a wording change and since doing that I pay 760 a month instead of the agreed upon 450 due to my x being on public assistance for needy families. I feel like my financial interests could have been looked out for more. All in all an average non contested divorce in WA should only take about a year and 13k max. I feel like this is way to expensive to repeat everything I say word for word to the opposing party. Not much work involved there besides repeating and paper pushing. If your looking for quick, thorough and cost effective, look elsewhere. If I am needing legal services again I will also look elsewhere. Exactly one week later I received a certified letter in the mail from Margaret Sturm indicating she can no longer represent me due to a conflict of interest. I called, left voice messages, emailed and absolutely no response back. No money returned. How could Margaret Sturm or Walstead not know this before sending a cease and desist letter?? What an absolute rip off literally from a law firm. Look elsewhere and try to find an honest lawyer. It's not Walstead Mertsching. I will be filing this with the state Bar Association.
