This was a great experience! Got to throw one axe over the shoulder, underhand, left and right, and even as a jab. Then we got to do over the shoulder with two axes! Feels awesome! A little like bowling at times, and I'd love to make a habit out of it, but it's definitely more expensive - the only reason I dropped a star. Beer selection was good, and you only can have the two per session - it makes sense. But they sure did help me get a groove going. My husband made arrangements for us to try this today and before we left I realized it was 90 minutes with just us. I frantically tried to call some friends to see if they wanted to come because it seemed like a group thing. Nobody could make it in the half hour time before the session started so we went alone. It was the best thing that could happen because for our first time we really enjoyed having so much time to practice. It seems likeBowling, the more people you have the less people are watching you like there's less interaction when you're throwing so in my opinion it wouldn't be as fun in a large group unless the side-talking was limited, or if SOMEONE didn't watch each person throw. We signed a waiver before we got there so our sessions started right away. The rules and lesson was simple. I turned out my exercise app and got 75 minutes of cardio doing this- I was sweaty from head to toe so when we come with friends, I'll recommend we eat first the employees were very helpful and it was cool to get pointers along the way. There are rules for games provided as an option. The four stars is because I'd like more food and drink options but you, know Covid. It's not their fault. I can't believe I got pretty good at it- I'm pretty weak so I had no idea if I could even get the ax to the end of the aisle. One person is allowed in the cafe at a time- I felt really safe. You walk in, get a wrist band, a coach to show you how to safely and properly throw the axe and cards with different games to play. I was very timid to throw one, but Coach Matt was awesome and helped me step by step. The venue allows you to bring in food from other local restaurants around the area so yes if you wanna just eat a Dicks burger and drink a milkshake you can bring that in! The experience is definitely overpriced and dangerous. Someone in the group pulled the muscle in the arm in throwing the axe. You are paying for overpriced beer and just throwing axe on the wall. I would recommend going to an archery ranger for a better experience. read more

Fun night and a great experience at Blade & Timber. I wasn't sure how the whole thing would work with sharp things and lots of people and the thought of throwing said sharp things. The event (or "booking" in the future) starts off by being paired with a 'coach' who goes over all of the safety points- how to hold the axe, where to stand, where you're allowed to carry the axe, how to retrieve it, etc. Then you're set free to enjoy trying to at LEAST make the axe stick in the wall!! They sell the center board of the targets if you want a souvenir, they have a fun photo booth to take some pics that allow you to brag about your good times, and eventually they will offer beverages! What a fun adventure! My family did experiences for Christmas and this was my gift to my sister. I booked us a lane on a very busy Saturday afternoon. The price was a bit of a surpise (close to 200 for 4 people) and you definitely need reservations on busy weekends. Our trainer was Michael and he was fantastic!! Beyond helpful with showing us all the techniques for being successful axe throwers. I was not a successful axe thrower. The whole thing was a way more technical than I thought but we all managed to have fun regardless of our skill level. Worth the experience. I don't get it. Do you get to throw an axe? Yes. Do they make the experience fun? Nope. We drove an hour into Seattle for a birthday party and we're excited for our first time axe throwing. We had filled out the waivers are fully Vaccinated and we're ready to go. First off this was like Covid police headquarters. Are these government employees or an event ace throwing employees? The moment we walked in my sister was asked if they could get her a "better" mask. Um ok sir if you like yours better sure. Meanwhile I was wearing a kids mask and no one gave a crap. There was a brief safety presentation and we were told 2 ways to throw the axe and that was the last of it from employees well except if you were not touching a table And your mask was anywhere slightly touching your nostrils you would be asked to pull your mask up. Wtf?!? How about how is your night? Are you all having fun? Nope!!!!! Then 15 minutes before our paid time was up they started asking us to move lanes for the next people. We paid to stay the next 15 min people. It says they have snacks. Eat before you come if you are hungry and there is a 2 beer minimum however there isn't bat next door if you want to have drinks and then walk in and throw axes. Overall just not a fun inviting experience at all. More like a boot camp where they let you throw axes but you better figure out how to Do that on your own unless you f that up Or have a sagging mask they don't give a rip. read more

The staff was very friendly and very welcoming from beginning to end. The place was clean. They don't have much food or drink, or they didn't advertise this very well if they do. There is a bar directly above Blade and Timber that serves very generous shots of booze. I don't have too many complaints of this place. I'm all for having fun, but when people are belligerent, messy, and rude, with the staff doing nothing? Sitting on your phones, having babysitters club gossip, or disappearing when people are throwing AXES?! Did I mention they play loud ass country music and it's miserable. I had no idea what I was doing and not a SINGLE employee cared to explain or help. I felt like it was like walking into Walmart for axe throwing. I guess their employees don't make enough money to care, or their management doesn't care about who they hire. This is like a awful tourist destination filled with people you don't want to be around. Axe Kickers was smaller but VERY chill and fun at the same time. The owner was super cool and helped us with different types of throwing and axes. I learned SO much and had SUCH a good time. A fun and exciting new activity to try with friends! I'll be honest I was a bit worried about throwing axes for the first time because a) it seems dangerous and b) throwing isn't exactly my forte (though I am an athletic person and tend to pick things up quickly). However, axe throwing was surprisingly fun, relaxing, and way easier than it looks. I thought it would be difficult to throw an axe safely and would be nearly impossible to get any to stick in the target but I would say the difficulty is only slightly harder than darts, bowling, or another similar game. It definitely helps that they have coaches there to teach you proper techniques for throwing, you'll start with a single axe double handed throw and advance to single axe single handed throws, double axe double handed throws, and left and right single handed throws at the same time - all within one 90 minute session if you desire.
