The staff (volunteers) are really friendly and it is often a great place to go and browse. They have a well stocked children's section of books, particularly useful for introducing children in a more friendly and easy to understand way into the role of God. The cafe next to the bookshop is wonderful - run by volunteers and by far the cheapest place to get a decent cup of tea and a rather tasty home made goodie!

Luckily, the staff are all friendly, which is a necessary thing when every time you go in you have to ask for where they have moved the nearest item you want. The post office queue is often near the door, which makes manoeuvring certainly something of an issue.

This little book store is what I imagine other used bookstores wish they could be. I don't even want to buy a book there because then it would disturb the order of things. Like most bookstores on college campuses, everything is overpriced (I only go there when my books are taking forever to come in from facebook marketplace). They have a reward scheme and some really helpful staff members, who find all yours textbooks for you. So if you're like me, would like to save some money on textbooks, don't shop here. I like to hang out there and tell people that the charity shops are cheaper and then I get kicked out :(

Kesley's is a wonderful little gem, which is very lucky not to have any competition nearby from the…read morelikes of Waterstones and WHSmith. And the Tesco in Haddington doesn't sell books and stationery, so Kesley's is the place to come if you are looking for that sort of stuff. The shop is divided up by the counter, and on the left side there is fiction books, and a selection of gifts and stationery, while on the right lies the non fiction section. The books that they sell are very good and the last time I was here I managed to get my hands on a limited edition copy of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - and at a price that was much cheaper than what you would pay in Waterstones. The staff here are very nice and take the time to chat to you about which books you are picking. And they are ever so helpful too. I enquired about a paperback edition of a book once and the man went through the back and found one! There is a lovely coffee shop through the back which is worthy of its own review. I'm really glad that I have found a new favourite bookshop. Move over Waterstones, because Kesley's will be the king of bookstores soon!

You would be surprised how many great books you can find here. I honestly didn't know it was two…read morestories until I had read the first review. However I completely agree with the last review, it doesn't mention that the store has become a bit more of a news agent in its main floor. It adapted so it it could sell the likes of small village shops stock which is possibly one of the main contributing factors to its long life in Montrose. It would be a real shame to see a local book store close, especially when it's only competition is a poorly laid out, over priced WHS. Definitely support this local shop.
