Enter: SC Family Electric Chris and Kevin came over and did the initial walkthrough with me. As someone who has no idea how to properly light a house, I relied on their expertise. Really the only input I had was "I don't like shadows" and "I would like the switches to work". We agreed to can lights, fans and fixtures, along with smoke detectors, a few extra switches and they even took down a roof antenna for me (I'm not sure if that's part of their job but that thing was making me bonkers lol) They were on time, tidy, professional and took the garbage out when they left. This company was the worst I ever experienced. We had a handshake deal on the price and before they…read morestarted Ismail wanted to charge me 40% more than originally agreed. He did some of the work that we agreed on, but it took him 2 months to do it as he was missing most of the time. He assured us that he had a crew of 4 that will finish the work in 2 weeks max... guess it took 2 months and it is still not completed as agreed! The crew was mainly 1-2 unqualified people and a few times 3 and very seldom 4, that included Ismail who only showed up shortly to then disappear. He demanded to get paid all the time, he wanted 80% of all the agreed funds after only completing 30% in of the that was agreed on. He wined about needing money to pay his crew. He harassed and bullied me about needing to get paid. Normal terms are 30% to 50% to start and the remainder upon completion. I paid 75% at 40% completion! He threatened to walk out of the job many times. Then he got him employee Brian, who he stated to us was his employee to pressure me who was himself indicating that he now was Ismail's business partner? They also constantly made use of my tools without asking and strangely some of them went missing and I confronted Ismail about that. I had my toolbox closed and they opened it and took my plyers and wire cutter and electrical tester and measuring tape. Many times they were too lazy to bring their own ladder and used mine. The dirt they created is unbelievable not to mention the dirty toilet they left for me to clean. Each time they left I spent so much time cleaning their dirt, food garbage and drink containers/bottles. Then Ismail had a violent outburst when my son refused to be bullied into paying him another $1000 as the job was far from being completed. When he left with 20% still not done, switches were loose, boxes sticking out of the wall that cannot be covered with drywall, fridge and dishwasher and kitchen counter outlets are all together on breakers, the living room switch powers the outside switch for the outdoor light and if you switch the living room light off, the outdoor light goes off also! The doorbell was never connected, but a big hole drilled into my siding! Also destroyed my ceiling. When I contacted Ismail to fix these issues he was telling me he had no time in the foreseeable future! I would never recommend this company and I suggest you keep looking elsewhere!

Brad Fowler wired our new boat dock last year and did an excellent job. He had a number of…read moreinnovative ideas. He added a remotely controlled light so that we can turn on the lights when we approach the dock in the boat at night. You don't want to leave the lights on while you spend hours in the water - it wastes power and it attracts bugs. Now we can light the place up remotely. I find that I also like being able to light the dock when we are walking out at night from the house. He installed a low voltage lighting system on the stairs and upstairs deck that is really top notch. Its power supply is housed in a stainless steel box. It's a really nice addition. He also put us in a ceiling fan over the boat slip - when you pull in with wet carpet, the breeze from the fan dries it in a hurry and keeps mildew away. Brad and his folks are extremely professional and use what appears to be the highest grade of material. Most of the wiring is run inside the dock tubing so it's protected and invisible. Under the roof there are places where the wiring could not be run inside the metal structure. In those instances Brad has it very nicely cased and secured to the dock. He also wired in my 220 volt pump and in doing so discovered a problem with the pump's then existing connections, which he fixed promptly. He is familiar with all Corps requirements and will make certain that you stay out of trouble with those guys. On a later project, Brad wired two really nice ceiling fans underneath our porch. We have a metal roof underneath the porch, but it is still exposed to water. Brad was able to wire it so that I am confident we will not have problems with water or with energizing that corrugated metal. Bottom line, if you have some electrical work that you want done correctly, and especially if you are wiring near the water, Brad Fowler will do the job right.
