Took the car there for back brakes repair and replace sensor in tires unfortunately I returned there three different times only for the situation to be worse had more shaking when applied the brakes they did eventually got the tires sensor to go off but I still wasn't satisfied with the brakes issue I didn't return the fourth time I call someone else to repair the brakes at this point they are working perfectly also it's unprofessional to NOT put things back the way you found them in the vehicle I did bring all these concerns to manger James read more

I have been a customer for several years, and twice now I have had an issue with the location on Millbrook in Raleigh.  Went in both times for an oil change and tire rotation/balance, and was charged for additives ($17 in 2024 and $10.49 last month).  I was not told about these extra charges, nor did I ask for them.  Additionally, I was told last month that there was no option for a conventional oil change, only semisynthetic or synthetic oil (which is more costly).  Though the charges last year were reversed after I complained, that did not happen after last month's visit.  Emailed the corporate headquarters (claimed it was never received), and also messaged them on Facebook--received an initial reply, but nothing after I submitted my complaint.  REVIEW YOUR BILL!!!  Charges like this should be disclosed to the customer. read more

After generally good experiences this past 10 years, they dropped the ball this time. My car had a flat tire, nearly new tires I bought at Black's; when I came in Thursday, I understood they would order and get it installed Friday as it was leading into the Memorial Day weekend. I had plans. No one called. They did put my "toy" spare on (which repeatedly set off the low pressure warning system the entire weekend). No one mentioned that. When I called, end-of-day Friday, I got the impression they had not ordered the tire at all and were apparently in no urgency to do so. It would not be there Saturday, nor close for Sunday then the Monday Holiday. I also thought it odd there was no attempt to explain why an expensive new Micheline had a flat. Was this a defective tire? Under manufacture warranty? No one seemed curious to find out. Anyway, they left a voicemail, late Tuesday, too late for a Tuesday install. Finally, Wednesday I got the tire replaced. For the most money I have ever paid for tires, $1,300, including the replace, this does not seem like a good experience, especially so soon after purchase. No communication, lackadaisical service, not like this Black's in the past. And the price seemed high. I'll give them one more chance. read more

Very terrible experience I went in to get a oil leak fix and they had my truck for about 2 weeks and couldn't communicate with me when it would be ready id be the one having to call them for updates and when they finally gave me back my truck it was smoking white gas from the engine and the exhaust so I had to take it back and they did the same thing no communication or updates for about 2 weeks but the part that stills upsets me is that they made me sign a piece of paper to get my truck back and basically that paper was for them to cover there asses for further damaging my truck because when I went to go pick up my truck a 2nd time I didn't even drive a mile away from there shop and my truck engine blow so basically I went in with a working truck that just had a oil leak and I came out with no truck and a damaged engine motor that they do not want to take responsibility for so my experience here very terrible read more

I took the older CRV to this shop in the afternoon and when they were able to take the car inside It took them a while but eventually they found the problem right around closing time. It was the Distributor and they ordered the part and it was replaced the following morning I was told it would be around 510 dollars to replace Distributor. That seems to be the going price. I was skeptical at first but once I drove home without an incident I trusted it was the correct diagnosis. Will go back for any other mechanical failure in the future, they all seem to be good and honest. I don't mind waiting but be good at what you do and be honest about the whole process. I am a do it yourself-er to some extend so I know when they do the bait and switch. Not this place and that must be why they have been in business for a while. I haven't had a problem again, it has been a while and the car starts normal and fortunately for me won't die in the middle of traffic like when it first happen when I had a problem with two motorists that I bet they would have shot me if they had a gun; my car died at a red light and wouldn't start again until about 4 minutes later, after honking and yelling they decided to drive around me as if they had a flight to catch and they had just been released from jail downtown Raleigh read more

Based on the recommendation of another shop (Just Tires), I usually come here when I'm uncertain about an issues with my vehicle. So far, I've had a wheel bearing replaced, fuel system cleaning, and a tune up. I've had 3 separate services done at this location. Normally, Bryan is up front to answer quiestions and schedule services. He's been consistently pleasant to deal with. Another gentleman, Scott is very informative and breaks down information easily (for me). The Maintenace techs are hit or miss for me but they've repaired my car without any secondary issues. read more

I want to formally apologize to all employees of blacks tire. It's been a year and a half since my last review and i have some updates. After going to blacks tire they told me my axel was bent and i went to chapel hill tire off Harrod street and Atlantic for a second opinion on why my brake pads were cutting into my rotor. They said my axel wasn't bent and it was my caliper so i replaced all of my calipers, rotors and brake pads and that is when i left my first review of blacks. 2 months later the same problem happened. Went to crossroads of wake forest ford dealership quick lane for them to take a look and in fact my axel was bent! Causing the rotor to rotate unevenly and wear down the brake pad to the backing plate and eventually cut into my rotor. Replaced the axel with ford and has been fine ever since, word to the wise don't go to chapel hill tire, they have cost me so much money with my vehicle for not properly diagnosing issues 3 times now! I called early to ask for an appointment and for a specific tire. They said they had the tire and no appointment necessary. When I went in, they said they didn't have the tire I needed and I had to wait there for a few hours, just to get a tire changed. On top of that, they didn't do their due diligence to do an alignment after the new tire was put on, and sent me onto the road. It was extremely dangerous because I had no idea the alignment was way off and my car started veering off the road, an issue I did not have before going to them. I even told them I was concerned about the indicator lights before I went off onto the road and they said don't worry about it. They were so rude about everything. Please never choose these guys for your car needs. read more

I tried setting up an appointment (my 3rd one there) and they couldn't figure out that I had bought my tires there and wanted to charge me $20 for rotation. We were Black's Tire customers in Wilmington and hoped we would find the same high level of customer service here in Raleigh and we were glad that we did! Mike at the front desk will answer all your questions, give you quotes and work with your schedule to get, what is usually inconvenient car maintenance, completed for you. They put new tires on my SUV and then had an alignment issue a few weeks later due to the new tires and they fixed it for me no questions asked. It's not the nicest waiting area but it's worth it to know your car will be fixed professionally and effectively. Would highly recommend them :) read more
