Unfortunately, there were ants all over one bedroom and bathroom and kitchen areas. When we contacted management, they apologized for the inconvenience, and said they would find a solution. They contacted their maintenance team and were getting it scheduled. No updates and no solution. No maintenance came. We'd also had an emergency communication elevator alert beeping outside our door. We reported as well as others in the building had. They noted to us that they addressed with maintenance. No one came to fix it. There was also a rubber strip missing from the bottom of the shower door, which led to water pouring onto the bathroom floor. There were light bulbs out. There was trash not cleaned up on the floor around the bed. On the last day, prior to check out time and prior to my checking out on the portal, the cleaning service arrived to clean. Disappointing.

We booked a home in Grand Haven in March. About 30 days before our trip, they called and asked us…read moreto move our dates a week later. They said the owners wanted to use the property for their daughter. I explained that we are flying from Arizona to Michigan for this vacation so we have airfare, time off work, time off school etc for 7 people. A few days later I received a very generic email stating the property we booked was no longer available. They suggested another property (same town but very different walkability, different bathroom count, different setup). Had I cancelled this late in the game I would have been responsible for 50% payment (mind you I had already paid in full). There was zero concession offered, zero apology, zero kindness. To add insult to the situation, I still receive automated texts regarding my upcoming arrival. So I had to scramble to find another place (with less than 30 days) and pay that in full while awaiting a refund on my first booking. Epic failure in customer service.

This review is for Jim Eberle at this RE/MAX location…read more If you're looking for a real estate agent - look no further. Jim Eberle is outstanding. Earlier this year we decided to buy our Up North home as our first home. My husband and I both work remotely, and enjoy both city life and escaping to the lake. We lived in San Francisco.. NYC.. and now Detroit- and sought to buy a property that most people would see as a vacation home- and make it our Homestead. Jim met us with integrity, intelligence, responsiveness, energy, market & business acumen and knowledge, personality, marketing/design expertise (he gave us ideas on how to remodel a home for maximum return), and top-notch management skills (He was able to coordinate all aspects of our trips up to view possibilities, and continually kept us apprised of progress). His kindness and wonderful sense of humor made each trip- and every phone call- a pleasure. It was as if we had already found our first friend in the area. His expertise and guidance has been critical in helping us navigate the market for the first time. We had so many requirements (home office, special flow to space, views and beach front) - along with a special desire for something with character and unique beauty. Jim was able to juggle the contrasting needs and varying order of necessities of my husband and I with grace. He worked to make us both very happy. He offered many solutions to solve our #firstworldproblems. Once we found our dream home, Jim gave us invaluable guidance while making the offer, helped work with the seller and agent to get the deal approved and then streamlined the close. I believe we closed within a month's time, to ensure we were watching sunsets & toasting marshmallows on Lake Michigan by June 1. We'll never forget Jim's commitment to our family from the very first viewing trip.. trudging through waist high snow, on the banks of Birch Lake.. and rappelling off decks onto the frozen solid shores of Lake Michigan. After 8 hours of house viewings one day we parted ways- only to have Jim ring us up 5 minutes later, to report a new house on the market- and yes, of course, we could go see it right then and there! His energy and passion for his industry is unparalleled. We counted on his local knowledge to find the right lakefront home that met all of our needs. We've now moved into our incredible piece of paradise in Kewadin, Michigan- and we are happy to have had such a perfect experience buying our first home. It's good to know we already have one neighbor we can trust.. Jim Eberle.

He arrived at a property after being informed it was not available to view that day by the sellers. He harassed the sellers to allow him to be their realtor only to never show the property after he listed it. A few weeks before his contract was to expire, he informed another realtor to give an offer lower than asking price and attempted to coerce the seller to take the offer to obtain the commission before his contract expired. He wouldn't help the seller alter the seller agreement after a new property couldn't be located to give them additional time to move out. He should be barred from the profession for unethical behavior.
