Orient beach offers a gorgeous environment for passive recreation as well as a paradise for beach goers. There is a 2.1 mile bike path along the park road which stretches along the section of the park called long beach. This road is also the entrance and exit to the park which is situated at the end of this stretch of road. Being part of the bike path it provides for an incredible walk with views of Gardiner's bay on one side and marsh lands on the other. There are many species of Birds and other wildlife life within the park and an amazing and unusual red cedar forest which encompasses the picnic area. Hobbies here include swimming , paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing and a playground for the kiddies . Facilities here are very nice and clean, including a bath room and showers for when you get off the beach. Truly an incredible place to visit at least once in your life, its natural beauty is impressive.

The cruise had 3 offerings of their specialty wines, a nice red, white and sparkling wine along with all you can each shrimp and freshly shucked oysters. Once we boarded, we each grabbed a wine glass and headed to the upper deck. My wife, looking so elegant in her summer dress, it was just a perfect night for a romantic cruise on Long Island. You don't have to call me late for dinner, I saw the crew carrying the oyster aft (that's the back of the boat for you non sailing Yelpers) I grabbed a plate and loaded up with a nice amount of shrimp with cocktail sauce as well as oysters. Ever try sail while trying to keep cocktail sauce off my white silk Tommy Bahama shirt? I did it because I have mad skill. I noticed the couple next to me, I made small talk with the guy. This woman, she must of eaten 2 dozen oysters! And I dig that! Enjoy yourself, don't hold back. I had about 6 oysters, a good amount of shrimp and a quite a few glasses of Bedell wines. The captain of the boat did something very cool. He brought the ship very close to lighthouse for a perfect picture spot. Could this night get any better? Here's where and I hope Bedell reads this review. You have the perfect opportunity to talk to all the guests and sell your winery! There should of been bottles of the wine we tasted for sale as well as baskets filled with wines & cheeses, raffles to come back to the vineyard for a tasting, shirts, glasses, Bedell things for sale. It sounds like you need me to take over this area of responsibility. ABC, always be closing. Wine is for closers! The guy pouring the wine was swamped with everyone at once saying: Gimme! We loved dancing on the boat, trying out the SUP board (included), basically chugging our BYOB drinks (no hard liquor allowed on board), taking pics lounging in the net, gawking at the yachts, and pretending the pool noodles were seahorses that we were riding. Bachelorette stuff! I think we had the Mon Mini boat, probably the smallest option. Included: one SUP board, bluetooth speaker, cooler, two pool noodles, the captain.

Despite the chill and the howling wind, I was able to get quite close to the lighthouse and enjoy the view of Plum Gut. This is the very tip of the northern fork at the very end of Long Island. There are no amenities here. It's a beach park without toilets or shelters. Probably great for fishing. On a warmer and sunnier and less rainy day, this would be a fabulous park. There was water and a bottle of local wine in the limo. Once we got to the wineries he escorted us inside and got us all set up. At the second winery there were some stools set up instead of seats. Pat quickly went and got us some comfy chairs. He let us know what our timeline would be at each place and always arrived early but didn't rush us. Lunch was pretty good. Everyone liked their food. No complaints. We didn't like the third winery (our fault, Pat tried to politely inform us it wasn't his fave but didn't want to push us into not going and regretting it).
